    You’ll also need to know the documents that you’ll have to submit along with your application, how long the application might take and fees you’ll have to pay.

    Each application must comply with the guidelines applicable for your visa category. including approved Sponsorships, Panel of physicians, Health Checks, Character Requirements and Police Checks.

    If your documents are not in English, you may need to get translations prepared before applying.

    COUNTER APPLICATION

    Regardless of a passport issue country and visa category, eVisa will be applicable. Issued visa is sent to the designated e-mail address on visa application form.

    To avoid delays please ensure you read the following steps carefully:

    Counter applications can be made by applicants themselves or by their representatives

    Applicants resident in China can submit their applications in person at the counter at the New Zealand Visa Application Centers in Beijing, Guangzhou, Shanghai or Chengdu, between 08:00 – 15:00 (Monday – Friday, except Public Holidays).

    Applicants resident in Hong Kong or Macau can submit their applications in person at the counter at the New Zealand Visa Application Centre in Hong Kong between 08:00 – 15:00 (Monday to Friday, except Public Holidays).

    Step 1:

    All applicants: make photocopies of your passport (bio page and all pages with visa labels/entry & exit stamps one each) and supporting documents.

    Step 3:

    The Visa Fees, VFS Global Service Fee are applicable per application. The Visa Fees, VFS Global Service Fee are applicable per application.

    POSTAL APPLICATION

    To avoid delays please ensure you read the following steps carefully:

    Postal application submission and visa fee remittance are ONLY available for people lawfully residing in China, Hong Kong and Macau. Applications mailed from other countries are not acceptable at the Visa Application Centres.

    Step 1:

    All applicants: make photocopies of your passport (bio page and all pages with visa labels/entry & exit stamps one each) and supporting documents.

    Step 2:

    Complete the visa application form and document checklist. You can download the application form here, and the checklists here.

    Must include along with application:

    • ONE EMS Airway Bill per Passport that will be used to return your passport (s). (Please complete the information of the receiver and do not remove any leaf from the Airway Bill)

    The Visa Fees, VFS Global Service Fee are applicable per application. The Visa Fees, VFS Global Service Fee are applicable per application.

  • Visit a Visa Application Centre

    Submit the application

    You’ll have to submit your complete visa application at the Visa Application Centre in person or through an authorized representative.

  • Track your application

    Check your applications status anytime

    Visa labels will no longer be issued by Immigration New Zealand (INZ). All applicants of approved visas will receive an email with a letter of approval, which is an eVisa. Please click here to check how long it takes to process your application.

    This Track your Application facility can only be used if you have already submitted an application for a Visa at the New Zealand Visa Application Centre and have received an acknowledgement with a tracking number. You can track your application by entering the Reference number on the Receipt and your date of birth.

    This service may only provide information on the current location of processing of your application and not on the exact stage of the application process.

    Tracking for Applications lodged Online: If you have submitted your application through immigration online, to track your application you are required to click here. This website can only guide you on the physical passport movement once you are advised by Immigration New Zealand to submit your passport at the Visa Application centre.

  • Collect your documents

    Receive your documents from the Visa Application Centre

    Applicants who are collecting the Passport / Documents at counter will need to provide the following document at the time of collection:

    • Photo copy of their passport data page (which was handed over at the time of application submission) to the VFS staff at the time of collection.

    Representatives / Agents / Consultants collecting the Passport / Documents at counter will have to provide the following documents along with the above mentioned documents at the time of collection:

    • An authorization letter from the applicant clearly stating the name & ID of person & agency authorizing them to collect Passport / Documents on their behalf.

    • Both original and photocopy of Photo Identification Card such as National ID card, Passport or Driver’s License.
