Short Term Visa
If you wish to visit the Czech Republic for a short period of time, you must obtain a visa prior to entry if you come from a country with a visa requirement for entering the Schengen area. Filipino nationals are required to have a visa to the Czech Republic.
Kindly note that the visa must be requested at the Embassy of the Schengen country where the applicant will spend more time during the trip, or of the main destination. Should you apply at a different Embassy or travel to a country different from the one that issued the visa, you may be prevented from boarding or entering the Schengen area.
A short-term visa is only intended to allow a foreign national to visit the Czech Republic for a limited period of time (90 days in any 180 day period). In case the applicant does not have a Filipino passport, the applicant must submit his/her long term residence permit in the Philippines. If you wish to reside in the Czech Republic for an extended period of time (more than 90 days), you need to apply for a long term visa directly at the Embassy of the Czech Republic in Manila
All applicants would need to appear in person in order to provide biometric data (fingerprints and digital photography), which is a simple and discreet procedure. This concerns the applications for the short-term Schengen visas (max. 90 days in 180 days).
Exemptions from the obligation of fingerprinting are provided for:
- children under the age of 12
- persons for whom the collection of fingerprints is physically impossible;

- Tourism: This type of visa applies to those applicants who are traveling to the Czech Republic for the purpose of tourism.
- Visit to family or friends: This visa is eligible for applicants who wish to visit relatives or friends who legally reside in the Czech Republic.
- Business: This visa category is suitable for applicants who are traveling for the purpose of business (commercial purpose).
- Official visit: This visa is eligible for applicants who wish to visit the Czech Republic for official purposes. Those applicants belong to this category who are the members of official delegations and who plan to participate in meetings, consultations, negotiations or exchange programs.
- Sports: This type of visa can be used by the applicants who take part in sports events in the Czech Republic, as well as persons accompanying them for professional reasons.
- Cultural/ conference/ convention: This visa for purpose to attend the conference, convention or cultural event in the Czech Republic
- Medical treatment: This type of visa is eligible for applicants who wish to visit the Czech Republic for medical treatment.
- Study or scientific research: This visa category is designed for those applicants who wish to visit the Czech Republic for study, training purposes or scientific research
According to the decision taken by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Czech Republic, effective since 18th of April 2011 third countries where the Czech Republic has a number of representative bodies, applicants may apply for a visa only at the representative body within the consular district, in which they have been admitted for permanent or temporary residence. Remark : Visa Fee category for adults is for 90 EUR excluding VFS Fees is 20 EURO in Local Currency every month. Visa fee for children between 6 and 12 years old is 45 EURO.
Visa are issued free of Charge for :
- Children under age 6
- School pupils, students, post graduate students and accompanying teachers who undertake trips for the purpose of study or educational training
- Researchers from third countries travelling within the Community for the purpose of carrying out scientific research
- Spouses of EU/EEA citizens (EEA: Norway, Iceland, Lichtenstein) and their children, under the age 21 – under certain circumstances (please verify with the relevant consular authority). On the condition that the marriage is recognized by the country of the EU partner. Original of spouses’ EU/EEA passport, Full Marriage/Full Birth certificates, etc. must be submitted with application as proof of relationship with EU/EEA spouse/parent. Also provide air ticket which clearly shows that you will be traveling with the EU/EEA passport holder.
- Representatives of non-profit organizations aged 25 years or less participating in seminars, conferences, sports, cultural or educational events organized by non-profit organizations.
Remark: The visa fee is not refundable if a negative decision is taken on the application or if the application is withdrawn
Tourism

Overview
This type of visa is applicable for those who tend to visit the Czech Republic for tourism.
It allows the citizens of the Philippines travel to the Czech Republic and stay for a limited period of time of not more than 90 days in any 180 day period.
All applicants would need to appear in person in order to provide biometric data(fingerprints and digital photography), which is a simple and discreet procedure. This concerns the applications for the short-term Schengen visas (max. 90 days in 180 days).
For subsequent applications within 5 years the fingerprints can be copied from the previous application file in the VIS, eg. the fingerprints will be provided for the period of 5 years for any subsequent Schengen visa application (for example for the long-term multiple entry visa) .
Exemptions from the obligation of fingerprinting are provided for:
- children under the age of 12;
- persons for whom the collection of fingerprints is physically impossible;

A Photograph submitted with the application for a visa should comply with the following specifications:
- Must be an up-to-date photograph (preferably maximum 6 months old)
- Must be a colour photograph printed on normal photographic paper
- Should be passport sized 3,5 x 4,5 cm
- Close up to your head and top of your shoulders so that your face takes up 70-80% of the photograph
- Full face taken straight forward 30 - 36 mm from point of the chin to head of hair
- Taken against a light background
- Without sunglasses
- Without hat or other head covering unless you wear this for religious reasons
- Spectacles should not have toned or reflecting glasses
- The frame of the spectacles may not cover the eyes
- The mouth must be closed

Processing Time
According to the Visa Code Article 23:
1. Applications shall be decided on within 15 calendar days of the date of the lodging of an application which is admissible in accordance with Article 19.
2. That period may be extended up to a maximum of 30 calendar days in individual cases, notably when further scrutiny of the application is needed or in cases of representation where the authorities of the represented Member State are consulted.
3. Exceptionally, when additional documentation is needed in specific cases, the period may be extended up to a maximum of 60 calendar days.
Visa Application Centre has no right to influence anyhow the processing time of visa applications as well to accelerate the application.
Please note that you may be required to appear before a Visa Officer for a personal interview at the Embassy of the Czech Republic in Manila prior to a decision being taken on your application. Embassy also reserves the right to ask for additional supporting documents during the visa application process. Applicants are requested to read the information on this site carefully. Starting July 31st 2019, all visa applicants who want to appeal against the decision of the Embassy of the Czech Republic in Manila have to pay 60 Euros or the equivalent amount in Philippine Peso as per the exchange rate set by the Embassy. Visa application form has to be completed for all the applicants including minors electronically on your computer or in writing. The VAF has to be filled out in English. The form needs to be signed personally by the applicant in the field 37 and on the last page. In case of the applications for multiple-entry visas there has to be a signature also under the declaration about the necessity to have travel health insurance not only for the first trip but for all the following trips.
For minors, the application must be signed by one of the parents or a legal guardian.

Overview
This visa category is suitable for applicants who are traveling for the purpose of business (commercial purpose) as well as representatives of business organizations.
It allows the citizens of the Philippines to travel to the Czech Republic and stay for a limited period of time of not more than 90 days in any 180 day period.
All applicants would need to appear in person in order to provide biometric data(fingerprints and digital photography), which is a simple and discreet procedure. This concerns the applications for the short-term Schengen visas (max. 90 days in 180 days).

Cultural, Scientific and Artistic Events

This visa category is designed for those applicants who wish to visit the cultural, scientific or artistic event, which will be held in the Czech Republic.
It allows the citizens of the Philippines to travel to the Czech Republic and stay for a limited period of time of not more than 90 days in any 180 day period.

Photo Specifications
A Photograph submitted with the application for a visa should comply with the following specifications:
- Must be an up-to-date photograph (preferably maximum 6 months old)
- Must be a colour photograph printed on normal photographic paper
- Should be passport sized 3,5 x 4,5 cm
- Close up to your head and top of your shoulders so that your face takes up 70-80% of the photograph
- Full face taken straight forward 30 - 36 mm from point of the chin to head of hair
- Taken against a light background
- Without sunglasses
- Without hat or other head covering unless you wear this for religious reasons
- Spectacles should not have toned or reflecting glasses
- The frame of the spectacles may not cover the eyes
- The mouth must be closed

Processing Time
According to the Visa Code Article 23:
1. Applications shall be decided on within 15 calendar days of the date of the lodging of an application which is admissible in accordance with Article 19.
2. That period may be extended up to a maximum of 30 calendar days in individual cases, notably when further scrutiny of the application is needed or in cases of representation where the authorities of the represented Member State are consulted.
3. Exceptionally, when additional documentation is needed in specific cases, the period may be extended up to a maximum of 60 calendar days.
Visa Application Centre has no right to influence anyhow the processing time of visa applications as well to accelerate the application.
Please note that you may be required to appear before a Visa Officer for a personal interview at the Embassy of the Czech Republic in Manila prior to a decision being taken on your application. Embassy also reserves the right to ask for additional supporting documents during the visa application process. Applicants are requested to read the information on this site carefully. Visa application form has to be completed for all the applicants including minors electronically on your computer or in writing. The VAF has to be filled out in English. The form needs to be signed personally by the applicant in the field 37 and on the last page. In case of the applications for multiple-entry visas there has to be a signature also under the declaration about the necessity to have travel health insurance not only for the first trip but for all the following trips.
For minors, the application must be signed by one of the parents or a legal guardian.

Official Visit
This visa is eligible for applicants who wish to visit the Czech Republic for official purposes. Those applicants belong to this category who are the members of official delegations and who plan to participate in meetings, consultations, negotiations or exchange programs.
It allows the citizens of the Philippines to travel to the Czech Republic and stay for a limited period of time of not more than 90 days in any 180 day period.
Holders of diplomatic or official passport can travel to the Czech Republic without applying for a visa.
If the holder of diplomatic or official passport travels to any other Schengen country beside the Czech Republic, he/she has to check the visa requirements for that country.
Medical Treatment

Overview
This type of visa is eligible for applicants who wish to visit the Czech Republic for medical treatment.
It allows the citizens of the Philippines to travel to the Czech Republic and stay for a limited period of time of not more than 90 days in any 180 day period.
All applicants would need to appear in person in order to provide biometric data(fingerprints and digital photography), which is a simple and discreet procedure. This concerns the applications for the short-term Schengen visas (max. 90 days in 180 days).
For subsequent applications within 5 years the fingerprints can be copied from the previous application file in the VIS, eg. the fingerprints will be provided for the period of 5 years for any subsequent Schengen visa application (for example for the long-term multiple entry visa) .
Exemptions from the obligation of fingerprinting are provided for:
- children under the age of 12;
- persons for whom the collection of fingerprints is physically impossible;
- Heads of State and members of the national Governments (with their official delegations and spouses) if they travel for official purposes.
According to the decision taken by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Czech Republic, effective since 18th of April 2011 third countries where the Czech Republic has a number of representative bodies, applicants may apply for a visa only at the representative body within the consular district, in which they have been admitted for permanent or temporary residence.

Overview
Employment Card
The Embassy of the Czech Republic in Manila informs that starting March 1st 2021 the applications for so called Employment Cards in the Framework of the Programme Qualified Employee should be submitted through the VFS Global.
An employee card is a type of long-time residence permit in the Czech Republic, where the purpose of stay (longer than 3 months) is employment.
The job vacancy for which an application for an employee card can be filed must come from the central register of job vacancies that can be filled by holders of employee cards. Subject to the consent of the employer, these vacant jobs can be published on the Integrated Portal of the Ministry of Labour and Social Affairs where can be found.

Processing Time
Processing time for Employment card application is two to four months and once your employee card is available, you will be notified by the embassy and collect it there.
