Overview
This visa is for applicants who intend to travel to Switzerland for holiday and recreation purposes.

Visa Fees
To submit your visa application, you will have to pay a visa fee and a service fee. The visa fee is collected on behalf of the Embassy of Switzerland in Beirut and the service fee is collected for the processing of your visa application at the VFS center.
Attention: the payment of the visa fee and service fee does not give any guarantee or right that a visa will be granted. The visa fee and service fee are both non-refundable and non-transferable if the visa application is denied by Consular staff or if the applicant decides to terminate his or her application.

This amount has been set in agreement with the Embassy of Switzerland in Beirut and corresponds to the different services provided by the VFS center (i.e. visa application reception, data processing, information collection, appointments booking, etc.).

Please provide two recent coloured photographs (not more than 6 months old) of yourself. The photographs should be:
- Taken against a plain light background (white or off-white) so that features are distinguishable and have contrast against the background.
- Clear share quality and with the face in focus.
- Printed on normal photographic paper (camera print).
- Full face, non-smiling [without sunglasses, a hat/cap or other head covering, unless the applicant wears such items because of their religious belief or ethnic background].
Note: Please follow these instructions carefully. If photographs presented do not meet these requirements your application will be considered incomplete. A photo booth is available at the centre to help you click photographs meeting these requirements.

Usually, processing time for visa applications is 10 working days (starting from the time when the Embassy or Consulate received the application, not including the transportation time), counting from when all requested documents have been submitted. This period may be extended in specific cases, notably when further scrutiny of the application is required, for example, when an applicant must come to an interview or submit additional documentation requested by the Embassy or Consulate. During certain times of the year, the processing time can be longer due to the high volume of applications. It is recommended to submit your visa application at least two weeks prior to date of travel date and if possible, even earlier ahead of the holiday period.
Please note that the application processing time and decisions on visa applications are the sole prerogative of the Embassy or Consulate. VFS Global has no role to play in these areas of the application process.

Schengen Application Form, duly filled, dated and signed at the bottom of the last page. For Family member of a Swiss, European Union (EU) or European Economic Area (EEA) citizen:
If you are a family member of a Swiss, European Union (EU) or European Economic Area (EEA) citizen, you can either submit your application at the center or directly at the responsible Embassy or Consulate of Switzerland. An appointment is mandatory and must be booked in advance. As a first step kindly contact the Embassy of Switzerland by e-mail [email protected], asking for an assessment, if the conditions to apply are met.
For Spouse of EU Nationals, only the following documents are required:
- Original and a copy of the Marriage Certificate attested by the competent authorities of the country of marriage, that the marriage has been registered and spouse’s passport copy
- Completely filled and signed Application Form
- Original Passport and copies of passport, previous Schengen visa copies issued within last 3 years
- 2 colored passport size photos in white background
- Travel Insurance covering the period of the trip
- Flight Reservation
- Letter signed by applicant, explaining the purpose of the visit to Switzerland
- This visa application will be accepted without visa fees.

Medical Treatment

This visa is for applicants who intend to travel to Switzerland for Medical purposes

The embassy will check the requests individually. In case of emergency, the cases will be treated directly at the embassy. Otherwise, applicants will be requested to contact VFS for an appointment (For instance if an applicant wants to make a yearly medical check-up, then he has to apply for a tourist visa).
