VISA TYPES
Select the visa type that is right for you to see important information on visa fees, documents required, forms, photo specifications and processing times.
Short Term Visa
Ukrainian visas are issued within 3 types – transit (B type), short-term (C type) and long-term (D type).
Visas can only be inscribed into valid passports/travel documents (i.e. those with 2 spare pages, issued not earlier than 10 years ago and valid for at least 3 months after the intended date of departure from Ukraine) and visa validity period cannot go beyond the passport/travel document’s validity.
Visa applications should be submitted not earlier than 3 months before the intended date of entry into Ukraine.
Holders of diplomatic/service passports are exempt from requirements to provide their medical/travel insurance policies as well as proof of sufficient funds.
C type (short term) visas are issued in cases where a foreigner/stateless person intends to stay in Ukraine for up to 90 days (within every 180 days).
C type visas are issued as single / double / multiple entry visas valid for 6 months or another period depending on supporting documents but cannot be issued for more than a 5 year-term.
Tourism

Overview
Tourist visa is granted for those applicants who intend to visit Ukraine for tourism and sightseeing without having an invitation from a Ukrainian referent.

These categories of applicants are issued with visas upon a zero fee:
- children under 6 years;
- persons of Ukrainian descent upon a Certificate of a person of Ukrainian descent, as well as their spouse and children;
- persons travelling to Ukraine with official purpose and holding diplomatic/service passport;
- staff of foreign diplomatic missions/consulates to Ukraine and their family members;
- staff of international organisations, their branches/offices in Ukraine and their family members;
- staff of foreign states’ missions to international organisations headquartered in Ukraine who are covered with diplomatic privileges and immunities as well as their families’ members;
- heads of foreign official delegations, their accompanying staff visiting Ukraine upon an invitation of the President of Ukraine, the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine (the Parliament), the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine or the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine;
- Ukraine’s honorary consular officials;
- persons travelling to Ukraine to implement international technical assistance projects upon an invitation of Ukraine’s state authority/entity/organisation which is a recipient of such international technical assistance projects;
- staff of foreign emergency / rescue authorities who enter Ukraine in order to aid with elimination of the aftermath of an emergency / accident upon an invitation of Ukraine’s Emergencies / Accidents Service;
- military personnel visiting Ukraine with official purpose upon invitation of the relevant ministry / other central executive authority;
- election observers delegated by foreign states and international organisations to observe presidential, parliamentary, local elections / national referendums upon lists provided to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs by Ukraine’s Central Election Committee;
- other persons visiting Ukraine in order to implement projects in foreign policy / humanitarian aid areas upon the invitation of the head of the relevant authority and confirmation of the Ministry of Finance.

- applicant’s valid passport/travel document;
- 1 applicant’s photo (35 * 45 mm);
- residence documents – valid residence permits/equivalents (in cases where applicants reside in a country that is different from the country of their nationality/citizenship);
- proof that the applicant is a holder of (or is entitled to benefit from) a valid medical/travel insurance policy to cover Ukraine and the period of stay (the policy should provide a minimum of €30 000 or equivalent coverage);
- proof of sufficient funds to cover the costs of stay (e.g. bank statement for 2 recent months, cash in Ukrainian hryvnia/other convertible currency, bank cards along with current/savings account balance statements provided the bank cards can be cashed in Ukraine, hotel/accommodation booking, letter from the applicant’s employer/sponsor confirming their coverage of applicant’s expenses in Ukraine, a return/transit ticket etc);
- proof that the applicant’s main purpose of journey to Ukraine is tourism (hotel/accommodation booking(s), programme of stay, information on the tour(s) and the tour(s’) timeframes, tourist agency details, transfer details, sightseeing information etc.).
- only applicable to Shanghai Jurisdiction: Original ID and “Hukou” with copys of all the pages (only for Chinese nationals). In case the applicant is from other consular jurisdiction: “Zan Zhu Zheng” or other police certificate to proof his/her stay in the current jurisdiction.
Please note that applicants might be asked for additional documents by Ukraine’s visa officers (e.g. return flight tickets and other documents confirming applicants’ circumstances (to be defined by Ukraine’s visa officers of the relevant Embassy/Consulate General).
Copies of both passport and ID card are needed for the applicants who submit application at Ukraine Visa Application Centre in Guangzhou.

Photo Specifications
A Photograph submitted with the application form should comply with the following specifications:


- Must be an up to date photograph (not more than 6 months old)
- Must be a colour photograph printed on normal photographic paper
- Should be passport sized 3,5 х 4,5 сm
- Face should take 70-80% of the photograph
- The size of the face from the bottom of your chin to the hairline must be between 31mm and 36mm
- The background shall be plain and light coloured
- Without sunglasses
- Without hat or other head covering unless you wear this for religious reasons
- Spectacles should not have toned or reflecting glasses
- The frame of the spectacles may not cover the eyes
- The mouth must be closed

Urgent processing – up to five working days. Urgent visa issuance is processed upon request of a foreigner or stateless person and in the period determined by a Ukrainian diplomatic mission abroad; Ordinary processing – up to fourteen working days, unless otherwise stipulated by Ukraine’s international treaties. This period may be extended up to 30 working days if by additional checks are necessary.

Invitation should contain full surname and name(s) of the inviting person, details of his/her passport and temporary or permanent residency permit (for a foreigner or stateless person), address, and full name of the invited person, information about his/her date and place of birth, nationality, passport details, place of residence, purpose of visit, duration of intended visit to Ukraine, number of entries and place of stay in Ukraine, physical person’s obligations towards possible coverage of costs related to the applicant’s stay and/or departure from Ukraine;
or
document(s) confirming that the applicant is a spouse, a parent or a child of a citizen of Ukraine;
or
document(s) confirming that the applicant owns property (real estate) allocated in Ukraine;
or
certificate of a person of Ukrainian descent* issued by Ukraine’s National Committee on Persons of Ukrainian Descent. If applicant’s family applies for this type of visa as well documents on their status and family relation to the applicant should also be provided*;
- copies of the inviting person’s Ukrainian passport (if an inviting person is a citizen of Ukraine) or copies of the foreigner’s/stateless person’s passport and their Ukrainian temporary/permanent residency permit (if an inviting person is a foreigner or a stateless person).
- only applicable to Shanghai Jurisdiction: Original ID and “Hukou” with copys of all the pages (only for Chinese nationals). In case the applicant is from other consular jurisdiction: “Zan Zhu Zheng” or other police certificate to proof his/her stay in the current jurisdiction.

Long-Term Visas
Ukrainian visas are issued within 3 types – transit (B type), short-term (C type) and long-term (D type).
Visas can only be inscribed into valid passports/travel documents (i.e. those with 2 spare pages, issued not earlier than 10 years ago and valid for at least 3 months after the intended date of departure from Ukraine) and visa validity period cannot go beyond the passport/travel document’s validity.
Visa applications should be submitted not earlier than 3 months before the intended date of entry into Ukraine.
Holders of diplomatic/service passports are exempt from requirements to provide their medical/travel insurance policies as well as proof of sufficient funds.
Long-term (type D) Ukrainian visas are issued as a multiple entry visas for 90 days(unless otherwise stipulated by legislation or international treaties of Ukraine) within which applicants are to enter Ukraine and apply to local offices of the State Migration Service of Ukraine for a temporary residence permit.

- proof that the applicant is a holder of (or is entitled to benefit from) a valid medical/travel insurance policy to cover Ukraine and the period of stay (the policy should provide a minimum of €30 000 or equivalent coverage);
- proof of sufficient funds to cover the costs of stay (e.g. letter from the applicant’s employer confirming their coverage of applicant’s expenses in Ukraine, bank statement for 2 recent months, bank cards along with current/savings account balance statements provided the bank cards can be cashed in Ukraine, cash in Ukrainian hryvnia/other convertible currency, accommodation arrangements etc);

- Spectacles should not have toned or reflecting glasses
- The frame of the spectacles may not cover the eyes
- The mouth must be closed

Processing Time
Urgent processing – up to five working days. Urgent visa issuance is processed upon request of a foreigner or stateless person and in the period determined by a Ukrainian diplomatic mission abroad; Ordinary processing – up to fourteen working days, unless otherwise stipulated by Ukraine’s international treaties. This period may be extended up to 30 working days if by additional checks are necessary.
