Short Term Visa (C)

Short Stay visa entitles an alien, who does not hold a residence permit, to stay in Austria for an uninterrupted period or a total of successive periods of stays that does not exceed 90 days in every six months since the date of first entry.

After scrutinizing the application, your application may have the following.

Visa applied for is granted.
Further documentation is requested.
Applicant is requested to appear for a personal interview.
The application is rejected.

Short stay visa must be submitted at least 15 days but not over 180 days in advance before the proposed travel date. VFS Global is the outsourcing office responsible for the reception and release of passports for short stay visa applications processed by Embassy of Austria in Hanoi.

Please note below points :

The visa is an instrument of the immigration policy of the State; therefore, obtaining a visa is not a right.

The visa application must be submitted in person

The procedure may take up to 15 days (less or more depending on the case).

Non Vietnamese citizen residing in Vietnam must present proof of a long stay visa, work permit and re-entry visa, these documents should be valid for at least 3 months after intended departure date from Schengen area. Only legal residents in Vietnam can request a Schengen visa at the Embassy of Austria in Hanoi.

Presenting all mentioned documents does not imply or guarantee that the visa will be granted, but that these documents are part of the for the visa application process. The final decision lies with the Embassy of Austria.

All documents should be translated in German or English.

Where the Austrian Embassy has decided to cooperate with an external service provider for the collection of applications, applicants should hand in their applications at those Visa Application Centers.

Overview

A Business Visa is given those who are doing business in Austria such as making sales or establishing contacts on behalf of a company outside Vietnam.

Visa Fees

The Visa Fees are as follows:

Please Note:

The applicable visa fee in VND is as per the current exchange rate. It is subject to change every month end.
All the fees are non-refundable.
There is a service charge of VND 804,000 levied on per application over and above the visa fees.
The visa fee for applicants and VFS charges (service charges & other optional charges) applying to the Austria Visa Application Centre is payable by cash or card.

Visas are issued free of charge for:

Children under age 6.
School pupils, students, post graduate students and accompanying teachers who undertake trips for the purpose of study or educational training.
Researchers from third countries travelling within the Community for the purpose of carrying out scientific research.
Spouses of EU/EEA citizens (EEA: Norway, Iceland, Lichtenstein) and their children, under the age 21 – under certain circumstances (please verify with the relevant consular authority). On the condition at the marriage is recognized by the country of the EU partner. Original of spouses’ EU/EEA passport, Full Marriage/Full Birth certificates, etc must be submitted with application as proof of relationship with EU/EEA spouse/parent. Also provide air ticket which clearly shows that you will be traveling with the EU/EEA passport holder.
Representatives of non-profit organizations aged 25 years or less participating in seminars, conferences, sports, cultural or educational events organized by non-profit organizations.
Diplomatic and official passport holders with official Verbal Note.

Due to a bilateral agreement the visa application fee for applicants of the following countries amount to € 35, Ukraine, Albania, Bosnia-Herzegovina, Macedonia, Montenegro.

The visa fee is not refundable if a negative decision is taken on the application or if the application is withdrawn.

If the applicant has not enough own financial means. Electronic guarantee letter, which can be applied for at the local police station in Austria, where the company is located/ registered. For more information please visit

All copies of documents in Vietnamese must be translated into English or German and the translations shall be done by Department of Justice in the last 6 months.

The applicant must present the original and a true copy of each document at VFS for your visa application submission.

The Embassy reserves the right to ask for additional documents. The application form can only be processed after complete submission of all documents requested by the Embassy. The non-refundable visa fee has to be paid upon filing the application.

Important: Wrong statements by the applicant or submission of falsified or forged documents result in the refusal of the visa application.

	If you wear glasses: the photograph must show your eyes clearly with no flash reflection off the glasses, and no tinted lenses (if possible, avoid heavy frames - wear lighter framed glasses if you have them) Make sure that the frames do not cover any part of your eyes. Head coverings : Are not permitted except for religious reasons, but your facial features from bottom of chin to top of forehead and both edges of your face must be clearly shown.

Processing Time

Usually, processing time for visa applications is totally up to the the Embassy (starting from the time when the Embassy or Consulate received the application, not including the transportation time), counting from when all requested documents have been submitted. This period may be extended in specific cases, notably when further scrutiny of the application is required, for example, when an applicant must come to an interview or submit additional documentation requested by the Embassy or Consulate. During certain times of the year, the processing time can be longer due to the high volume of applications. It is recommended to submit your visa application at least two weeks prior to date of travel date and if possible, even earlier ahead of the holiday period.

Please note that the application processing time and decisions on visa applications are the sole prerogative of the Embassy or Consulate. VFS Global has no role to play in these areas of the application process.
