Applicant will have to provide evidence that he/she falls under this category, kindly refer to the information sheet of documents required.
The Embassy of Czech Republic in Lebanon shall maintain the possibility for all applicants to lodge their applications directly at its consulate.
All foreign nationals legally resident in Lebanon, including resident Syrian nationals apply for a Schengen visa at the Czech Visa Application Center. Residence permit of such applicants proving a legal stay of at least 1 year shall be always requested. Family members of EU citizens can always turn directly to the Embassy of the Czech Republic in Beirut.

Photo Specifications
Information for visa applicants
Photograph specifications:
Format
Full front view of face, centred, features from chin to hairline and both sides of face must be clearly visible. From top to bottom face must fill 70-80% (between 32 and 36 mm) of the photograph. Front of head (including hair) must be completely visible, with dimensions of face as specified.
Contrast And Sharpness
Whole face must be clear, with proper contrast and sharpness.
Lighting
Face must be well lighted, with no flash reflections, shadows or red eyes.
Background
Background must be uniform, light-colored (ideally a neutral grey) and provide a good contrast with face and hair. Best background for light-colored hair is medium-grey, for dark hair light-grey. Photograph must show subject only (no other person or items permitted, important especially for photographs of young children). Shadows on background are unacceptable.
Photographic Quality
Photograph should be printed on high-quality paper, resolution at least 600 DPI (dots per inch), have no creases or marks and represent natural skin tones.
Head Position, Facial Expression And Direction
A position with the head leaning or turned (e.g. half profile) is unacceptable. Facial expression must be neutral and the mouth closed. Subject must look straight into the camera. Eyes must be open and well visible, not covered by hair or frame of glasses.
Glasses
Eyes must be clearly visible (reflections on glasses, tinted or sun glasses are unacceptable). The edge of the glasses or frame must not cover the eyes.
Headcoverings
Head coverings of any kind are unacceptable. Exceptions can be made for religious reasons.

Processing Time
- Applications shall be decided on within 15 calendar days of the date of the lodging of an application (from the date of delivery of the application to the Embassy, usually next working day).
That period may be extended up to a maximum of 45 calendar days in individual cases, notably when further scrutiny of the application is needed. - Applications shall be lodged no more than six months. Before the start of the intended visit, and, as a rule, no later than 15 calendar days before the start of the intended visit. In justified individual cases of urgency, the consulate or the central authorities may allow the lodging of applications later than 15 calendar days before the start of the intended visit.
- Negative decisions on applications must be notified to the applicant, that such decisions must state the reasons on which they are based and that applicants whose applications are refused have a right to appeal, with information regarding the procedure to be followed in the event of an appeal, including the competent authority, as well as the time limit for lodging an appeal. The competent authority is the Embassy of the Czech Republic in Beirut, the appeal has to be submitted within 15 after receiving the negative decision directly by the applicant in writen form with a proper reasoning. The fee is equivalent of 80 EUR paid in USD in cash. The decision period is 65 days from submitting the application.

Photograph specifications:
Format
Full front view of face, centred, features from chin to hairline and both sides of face must be clearly visible. From top to bottom face must fill 70-80% (between 32 and 36 mm) of the photograph. Front of head (including hair) must be completely visible, with dimensions of face as specified.
Contrast And Sharpness
Whole face must be clear, with proper contrast and sharpness.
Lighting
Face must be well lighted, with no flash reflections, shadows or red eyes.
Background
Background must be uniform, light-colored (ideally a neutral grey) and provide a good contrast with face and hair. Best background for light-colored hair is medium-grey, for dark hair light-grey. Photograph must show subject only (no other person or items permitted, important especially for photographs of young children). Shadows on background are unacceptable.
Photographic Quality
Photograph should be printed on high-quality paper, resolution at least 600 DPI (dots per inch), have no creases or marks and represent natural skin tones.
Head Position, Facial Expression And Direction
A position with the head leaning or turned (e.g. half profile) is unacceptable. Facial expression must be neutral and the mouth closed. Subject must look straight into the camera. Eyes must be open and well visible, not covered by hair or frame of glasses.
Glasses
Eyes must be clearly visible (reflections on glasses, tinted or sun glasses are unacceptable). The edge of the glasses or frame must not cover the eyes.
Headcoverings
Head coverings of any kind are unacceptable. Exceptions can be made for religious reasons.

- Applications shall be decided on within 15 calendar days of the date of the lodging of an application (from the date of delivery of the application to the Embassy, usually next working day).
That period may be extended up to a maximum of 45 calendar days in individual cases, notably when further scrutiny of the application is needed. - Applications shall be lodged no more than six months. Before the start of the intended visit, and, as a rule, no later than 15 calendar days before the start of the intended visit. In justified individual cases of urgency, the consulate or the central authorities may allow the lodging of applications later than 15 calendar days before the start of the intended visit.
- Negative decisions on applications must be notified to the applicant, that such decisions must state the reasons on which they are based and that applicants whose applications are refused have a right to appeal, with information regarding the procedure to be followed in the event of an appeal, including the competent authority, as well as the time limit for lodging an appeal. The competent authority is the Embassy of the Czech Republic in Beirut, the appeal has to be submitted within 15 after receiving the negative decision directly by the applicant in writen form with a proper reasoning. The fee is equivalent of 80 EUR paid in USD in cash. The decision period is 65 days from submitting the application.

The Embassy of Czech Republic in Lebanon shall maintain the possibility for all applicants to lodge their applications directly at its consulate.
All foreign nationals legally resident in Lebanon, including resident Syrian nationals apply for a Schengen visa at the Czech Visa Application Center. Residence permit of such applicants proving a legal stay of at least 1 year shall be always requested. Family members of EU citizens can always turn directly to the Embassy of the Czech Republic in Beirut.

Visa application form has to be completed for all the applicants including minors electronically on your computer or in writing. The VAF has to be filled out in English. The form needs to be signed personally by the applicant in the field 37 and on the last page. In case of the applications for multiple-entry visas there has to be a signature also under the declaration about the necessity to have travel health insurance not only for the first trip but for all the following trips.
For minors, the application must be signed by one of the parents or a legal guardian.

The Embassy of Czech Republic in Lebanon shall maintain the possibility for all applicants to lodge their applications directly at its consulate.
I. Who is a family member of an EU citizen?
A family member of an EU citizen is a family member of a citizen of any of the EU country or Iceland, Lichtenstein, Norway and Switzerland, who is a:
- • Spouse,
- • Parent if it concerns someone who supports an EU citizen under 21 with whom they live in a common household,
- • Child under 21 or such a child of the spouse of an EU citizen and
- • Dependent direct relative in an ascending or descending line or such a relative of the spouse of an EU citizen.
A dependent person is understood to be a third-country national supported by a European Union citizen or the spouse thereof who:
- • is systematically preparing for a future profession up 26 years of age;
- • cannot systematically prepare for a future profession or perform gainful activities due to illness or injury; or
- • is not capable of performing systematic gainful activities due to a chronic adverse health condition.
A family member of an EU citizen can also be understood to be a foreign national who can credibly prove that:
a. They are a relative of an EU citizen that is not specified above if:
- 1. They lived in a common household with an EU citizen in the country whose citizenship they hold or in the country in which they held long-term or permanent residence;
- 2. They are supported by an EU citizen; or
- 3. They cannot care for themselves without the personal care provided by an EU citizen due to a chronic adverse health condition; or
b. They are in a permanent relationship with an EU citizen that is comparable to a family relationship and that they share a common household.
The provisions of the Act on Residence of Foreign Nationals pertaining to family members of European Union citizens will be also be applied to a foreign national who is a family member of a citizen of the Czech Republic
II. Short-term stay (up to 90 days)
1.Visa Waiver
- • Family members – non-EU citizens subject to visa requirements, can stay in the Czech Republic for up to 3 months without a visa on condition that they hold a valid passport and a valid document on a temporary or permanent residence permit issued by a different EU country, Iceland, Norway, Liechtenstein or Switzerland, or a permanent residence card issued by a different EU country.
- • Likewise, family members can stay in the Czech Republic temporarily without a visa if their short-term visa has become invalid. They must, however, reside in the Czech Republic with a citizen of the EU or the abovementioned states and their stay in the Czech Republic shall not exceed 3 months.

Fully completed and signed application form for a schengen visa should be submitted by the applicant in person together with:
- • Valid travel document
- • Photograph
- • Documents confirming the identity of an EU citizen and especially the family relationship with the applicant (primarily, but not exclusively, the original or certified copy of the marriage-birth or other applicable certificate with official translation into Czech if necessary).
In case of missing proof of the EU citizen identity and the family relationship, the applicant cannot be considered to be a family member of an EU citizen and standard rules of procedures will be applied.
