Overview

Application is applicable in case you are travelling for Tourism. This visa is given for a travel period of less than 90 days.

The process and required documents are the same for Norway visa cases since the Embassy of Denmark represent Norway.

After the instalment of a new system for scanning biometrics, including photographs for visa application, it is now possible to lodge a photograph of size 35 x 45 mm. Length of the head should not exceed 30 to 36 mm in length from chin to top of hair.

The photograph must still be in color with bright background.

Danish Visa Application Centre has been instructed by Danish mission to inform applicants that the visa application is not acceptable if the photograph does not comply with the above format.

Bona fide cases (Approved by the Embassy) – normally 15 days, for a fully completed application with proper documentation which is handed in at the VFS Visa Application Centre. Please hand in your application well in advance during peak season.

Cases for Danish Immigration Service (DIS) – See the processing time in https://www.nyidanmark.dk/en-GB/Words-and-concepts/US/Diverse-US/Application-processing-times-in-the-Danish-Immigration-Service and add 3-5 working days of processing time at the Embassy.

The processing period may be extended up to a maximum of 45 calendar days in individual cases, notably if further scrutiny of the application is needed or in cases of representation where the authorities of the represented Schengen State are consulted.

Exceptionally, when additional documentation is needed in specific cases, the period may be extended up to a maximum of 60 calendar days.

Citizens of certain countries or categories of certain citizens are subject to prior consultation in one or more Schengen countries before a visa may be issued. The processing time in these cases will usually be 10-12 days as a minimum. See list of these nationalities and categories of persons (annex 16 to the Visa code Handbook).

A family member of an EU/EEA citizen has the right to have a visa application processed in accordance with EU regulations, if the family member is accompanying or joining the EU/EEA citizen or Swiss citizen. It is a precondition that the EU/EEA citizen or Swiss citizen is exercising his/her right of free movement in Denmark.

Overview

This category of visa caters to people wishing to visit Denmark or Norway represented by the Embassy of Denmark in Dhaka for a maximum of 3 months for official purposes.

According to Schengen regulation (Handbook of Visa Code) article 7.10 it is the applicant who needs to submit the necessary documents to be granted a visa and the Embassy does not need to make further investigation into an application if the documentation is not sufficient. Failure to submit the required documents will lead to a refusal of the application

Applicants for a seaman’s visa must be employed in any capacity on board a vessel, and seeking to enter Denmark or Norway which is represented by the embassy of Denmark solely in pursuit of his/her calling as a seaman, with the intention of departing with the vessel or reshipping on other vessel that is bound for a foreign port or place or one coming to the Denmark or Norway which is represented by the embassy of Denmark to join a vessel in this country.

The Royal Danish Embassy in Bangladesh is the receiving office for residence permit applications for Denmark. Your application will be forwarded to Danish Agency for International Recruitment and Integration (SIRI) or Danish Immigration Service (DIS) in Denmark for processing.

The application should be submitted in the applicant’s country of usual residence or home country. However, if this is not possible, and the applicant is staying legally in Bangladesh, the application may be submitted at the Denmark Visa Application Centre in Bangladesh.

Visa Fees

Note: From 01 July 2019, The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Denmark including all Danish diplomatic missions are introducing mandatory online payment of the embassy fee for residence or work permit. The embassy fee must be paid online using this link https://dys.um.dk/permit/. Please read the guideline before payment.

The receipt for the payment must be submitted at the Danish Visa Application Centre (VFS) when you hand in your passport, relevant documentation and supply biometrics. The embassy fee and the fee to the Danish Visa Application Centre (VFS) must be paid in addition to the fee to The Danish Immigration Service.

• The applicable VFS service fee is as per the current exchange rate. It is subject to change.
• The service fee is inclusive VAT and is non-refundable.
• Visa Application Centre offers an optional service at a nominal additional cost:

Documents Required

Mandatory documents for online applications and applications submitted by the company in Denmark

• A print of the confirmation that the application was submitted online (the confirmation has information about case order ID)
• Valid original travel document
• Other required supporting documents followed by rightfully translated versions according to the list covering the specific application form

• A copy of the first three pages of the application form which was forwarded by regular postage mail to DIS/SIRI

Photo Specifications

Size of photograph for visa applications

After the instalment of a new system for scanning biometrics, including photographs for visa application, it is now possible to lodge a photograph of size 35 x 45 mm. Length of the head should not exceed 30 to 36 mm in length from chin to top of hair.

The photograph must still be in color with bright background.

Danish Visa Application Centre has been instructed by Danish mission to inform applicants that the visa application is not acceptable if the photograph does not comply with the above format.

Applicants may therefore obtain a new photograph that meets all requirements before The Danish Visa Application Centre can receive the application.

Overview

A residence permit is necessary for those wishing to stay in Norway for more than 90 days. The Royal Danish Embassy in Bangladesh is the receiving office for residence permit applications for Norway. Your application will be forwarded to The Norwegian Directorate of Immigration (UDI) in Norway for processing.

The steps to applying for a residence permit to Norway are as follows:

1. Hand in the application and supporting documents (copies as well as originals) and pay the fee (in cash).

Photo Specifications

Applicants need to follow the below given guidelines:

• Photograph of size 35mm x 45 mm.
• Length of the head should not exceed 30 to 36 mm in length from chin to top of hair
• Photograph must be in color with light or White background
• Photograph for each visa applicant must be an un-mounted, full face photo, color photo as described below
• Photograph must have been taken within the last six months
• One photograph needs to be submitted

Processing Time

The Royal Danish Embassy in Bangladesh will forward the residence permit applications to The Norwegian Directorate of Immigration (UDI) in Norway for processing. The Visa Application Centre will hand out the decision to the applicant once they receive it from the Royal Danish Embassy.
