If you wish to visit Denmark for a short period of time, you must obtain a visa prior to entry if you come from a country with a visa requirement for entering Denmark.

Photo Specifications
Size of photograph for visa applications
After the instalment of a new system for scanning biometrics, including photographs for visa application, it is now possible to lodge a photograph of size 35 x 45 mm. Length of the head should not exceed 30 to 36 mm in length from chin to top of hair.
The photograph must still be in color with bright background.
Danish Visa Application Centre has been instructed by Danish mission to inform applicants that the visa application is not acceptable if the photograph does not comply with the above format.
Applicants may therefore obtain a new photograph that meets all requirements before The Danish Visa Application Centre can receive the application.

According to the common Visa Code signed by the Schengen member states, the processing time for an admissible visa application must not exceed 15 calendar days. This period may be extended up to a maximum of 60 calendar days in cases where additional documentation or scrutiny is needed. A visa can have one, two or multiple entries depending if you need to travel outside the Schengen area and back again during your visit. If you apply for two or several entries, this must be justified. For more information on processing time please follow below link

Seafarers

Overview
Applicants for a seaman’s visa must be employed in any capacity on board a vessel, and seeking to enter Denmark which is represented by the embassy of Denmark solely in pursuit of his/her calling as a seaman, with the intention of departing with the vessel or reshipping on other vessel that is bound for a foreign port or place or one coming to the Denmark which is represented by the embassy of Denmark to join a vessel in this country.

Long Term / Residence Permit Applications
If you wish to stay in Denmark for more than three months you must apply for a Long Term/ Residence permit
From 01 July 2019, The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Denmark including all Danish diplomatic missions are introducing online payment of the embassy fee for residence or work permit.

The receipt for the payment should be submitted at the Danish Visa Application Centre (VFS) when you hand in your passport, relevant documentation and supply biometrics. Please note that in R/W permit cases there are three fees to be paid:
- The fee to either The Danish Immigration Service or The Danish Agency for International Recruitment and Integration (SIRI),
- The fee to the Danish embassy (using the link https://dys.um.dk/permit/) and
- The fee to the Danish Visa Application Centre (VFS).

Red Carpet
What is the Red Carpet Program?
The Red Carpet Program introduces simplified procedures for obtaining Danish Schengen visas for applicants who travel regularly to Denmark for business purposes. The aim is to assist those companies, organizations, NGO’s etc. that have business relations with a Danish company or organization.
The Red Carpet Program is open to private and public companies or organizations provided they meet the requirements mentioned on the local Danish embassy’s website. The accreditation of a company or organization must have taken place before an employee/associate can benefit from the Red Carpet Program.
