Overview
Israeli citizens do not need a visa to enter Germany for short stays (maximum of 90 days, e.g. for a holiday or a business trip). They just an Israeli passport that is valid for at least 3 months beyond the intended length of stay in the Schengen zone. Employment is prohibited during this visa-free stay.
EU citizens need their ID card or their passport to enter Germany. They do not need a visa.
Citizens of other countries residing in Israel might need a visa in order to enter Germany. Please check here

Visa Fees
Visa Fees Euro Schengen visa 90 Children, 6 to 12 years old 45 Children, 0 to 6 years old 0 Schengen visa for citizens of the following countries (by the Visa Facilitation Agreement):
Albania, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Bosnia-Herzegovina, Georgia, Macedonia, Moldova, Montenegro, Serbia, Ukraine, Kap Verde35 Applicant's exempted from visa fee:
- The Schengen members states have concluded visa facilitation agreements with a number of countries (e.g. Armenia, Ukraine). The visa fee for citizens of these countries in the equivalent of 35 EUR in ILS according to the current exchange rate. The fee will not be refunded in case your visa application is refused.
- Certain applicants are exempted from the visa fee: children under the age of 6; school pupils, students, postgraduate students and accompanying teachers, who undertake stays for the purpose of study or educational training; representatives of non-profit organizations under the age of 25 participating in seminars, conferences, sports, cultural or educational events organized by non-profit organizations; family members of EU or EEA citizens falling under directive 2004/38.

Documents Required
Please note that the visa category chosen by an applicant must be based on the purpose of travel to Germany and the decision must be made by the applicant him/herself. An application filled incorrectly and carelessly can cause refusal of a visa application. The applicant may need to submit additional details or applicant can be asked to come for an interview at the Embassy.

Travel Medical Insurance
Each applicant (including children) must have a travel medical insurance. Exceptions are family members of EU/EEA citizens, as well as holders of diplomatic and official passports on mission.
Basic requirements for an insurance policy:
- Insurance should cover the entire validity period of the visa and all of the planned days of stay.
- Insurance validity area should cover the whole Schengen area or to be worldwide. No areal restrictions are allowed (for example “Germany, Schengen”).
- The insurance coverage limit should be not less than 30.000 euros or equivalent amount in other currency (for example 50.000 dollars)
- Policies should insure your costs in case of sudden illness or accident and assistance on site, including the costs of medical repatriation to the place of permanent residence of the insured person or the repatriation in case of death.
Original insurance policy needs to be presented during submission; applicant can provide a copy to the application (Embassy does not return documents after application has been processed).
Travel medical insurances can be bought from an approved insurance company.
An applicant for multiple-entry visa may provide an insurance policy which covers the first trip. The applicant undertakes to purchase an insurance policy for further trips by signing the visa application.

Processing Time
The processing of the application takes up to 2 weeks, but can take longer if the application is not complete or when further scrutiny of the application is needed. Please note that all applications are processed individually. The Embassy may request further documentation and information or you may be called for an interview which can prolong the processing time.
Please note that as per the Article 23 of regulation of the European Parliament and of the Council establishing a Community code on Visas (Visa Code) the period of consideration of your visa application by the respective Consular authority may be extended up to a maximum of 30 calendar days. Exceptionally, when additional documentation is needed in specific cases, the period may be extended up to a maximum of 60 calendar days.
An application filled incorrectly and carelessly can cause delay or denial of a visa. Submitting all the required documents when submitting the visa application will speed up the processing time. The applicant may be asked to supply additional details, e.g. a more detailed plan of trip. The visa application will be decided on without the requested documents and the decision may be to the applicant’s disadvantage, if requested documents are not submitted to the German Visa Application Centre or the German Embassy by the date agreed.
