    Applicants shall be levied a service charge of SAR 162 /- per application (VAT Included)

    Non Saudi Applicants who applying from Jeddah will be charged 101.2 SAR (Including VAT) per Application for Two-way courier in order to transmit the documents to German Embassy in Riyadh.

    All Applicants who applying from Al-Khobar will be charged 101.2 SAR (Including VAT) per Application for Two-way courier in order to transmit the documents to German Embassy in Riyadh.

    Service Charge will have to be paid online via the secure payment gateway on this website before the appointment can be confirmed. Kindly refer to schedule an appointment page on this website for detailed information.

    Please note:

    Exemption of visa fee applies a.o.for:

    • Children 0-6 years ( i.e. Children that are 6 years of age minus one day)
    • Family members of EU and Switzerland citizens
    • Acceptance of an application to issue a visa in a diplomatic passport is exempt from the fee.
    • School pupils, student , postgraduate student and accompanying teachers who undertake stays for the purpose of study or educational training ( proof required )
    • Researchers traveling for the purpose of carrying out scientific research ( proof required )
    • Exemption of visa fee is mainly in the case of children below 6 years of age in the short term visa category, Children (under the age of 18)/Spouse of EU Citizen and Parents of children (under the age of 18) if the child is an EU citizen.
    • The applicable visa fee in SAR is as per the current exchange rate. It is subject to change without notice due to sudden foreign exchange fluctuations.
    • The visa fee is non-refundable.
    • There is an optional courier passport pass back facility available for SAR 50.60 per application (VAT Included), payable in cash/card.

    The processing time for assessment of a Schengen Visa depends on the applicant's nationality and Normal processing time for visa application is normally 15 calendar days. Applications should be made as early as possible (within 6 months ahead of departure). Due to the higher number of applications during the annual high seasons (March to July, just before Ramadan or Eid al Adha) longer processing times are possible. Please Note: The processing time is an indication only. Applicants can always be requested by the respective Embassy to appear for an interview. The Embassy reserves the right to ask for further documentation.

    Special Mention:

    A visa applicant is free to request for an appointment directly at the Embassy through writing an e-mail to [email protected]

    Please note that wait time for an appointment is usually much shorter at VFS than directly at the Embassy.

    Only SAUDI nationals residing in Saudi Arabia, nationals of third countries that are legal residents in SAUDI can apply for a visa at the Embassy/Consulate of Germany in Saudi Arabia. Please note that citizens of Yemen residing in Yemen can also apply at the German Embassy in Saudi Arabia.

    Visa applicants are requested to appear in person at the time of submission, unless they have given biometric data (fingerprints) within the last 59 months.

    Applicants who submit incomplete, unclear or unsigned applications run the risk of having their applications rejected.

    Visa fees are non-refundable and have to be paid in cash/card at the time of application

      If the visit involves two or more Schengen countries, the Embassy/Consulate responsible for the issuance of the visa will be:

    • The Embassy/Consulate of the country in which the traveler is going to stay the longest.
    • If the traveler is to stay the same time in different Schengen countries, the Embassy/Consulateof the country of first entry.

    Schengen Information

    If your travel destination is only Germany, the German Embassy/Consulate will deal with your application. If your travel destination includes other Schengen Member States, your application must be dealt by the Embassy/Consulate of your main destination.

    The main destination is understood to be the destination where the applicant intends to spend the longest time and/or where the main purpose of the intended journey is carried out.

    If no main destination can be determined the Embassy/Consulate of the Schengen Member State whose external border the applicant intends to cross first will handle your application.

    • Acceptance of an application to issue a visa in a diplomatic passport is exempt from the fee.
    • School pupils, student , postgraduate student and accompanying teachers who undertake stays for the purpose of study or educational training ( proof required )
    • Researchers traveling for the purpose of carrying out scientific research ( proof required )
    • Exemption of visa fee is mainly in the case of children below 6 years of age in the short term visa category, Children (under the age of 18)/Spouse of EU Citizen and Parents of children (under the age of 18) if the child is an EU citizen.
    • The applicable visa fee in SAR is as per the current exchange rate. It is subject to change without notice due to sudden foreign exchange fluctuations.
    • The visa fee is non-refundable.
    • There is an optional courier passport pass back facility available for SAR 50.60 per application (VAT Included), payable in cash/card.

  • Processing Time

    The processing time for assessment of a Schengen Visa depends on the applicant's nationality and Normal processing time for visa application is normally 15 calendar days. Applications should be made as early as possible (within 6 months ahead of departure). Due to the higher number of applications during the annual high seasons (March to July, just before Ramadan or Eid al Adha) longer processing times are possible. Please Note: The processing time is an indication only. Applicants can always be requested by the respective Embassy to appear for an interview. The Embassy reserves the right to ask for further documentation.
    Special Mention:

    A visa applicant is free to request for an appointment directly at the embassy through writing an e-mail to [email protected].

    Please note that wait time for an appointment is usually much shorter at VFS than directly at the Embassy.
