Short term visa
A short term visa (category C) is a visa issued for a short term visit to Hungary (or another Shengen state) or for transit through the territory of Hungary (or another Shengen state). Depending on the travel purpose, a Short-term Schengen visa may be issued for a single, double or a multiple entry. Schengen Visa allows you to stay on the territory of Hungary during the limited period of time, as well as cross the internal borders of other Schengen countries.
The longest stay in the Republic of Hungary is 90 days within a half-year after the first crossing of the border of Hungary. The validity period of a short term visa is 5 years maximum.
Unified Schengen visas are valid on the territory of the following states: Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Czech Republic, Croatia, Denmark, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia, Finland, Sweden and Switzerland.
According to the conditions of the Schengen Agreement the applicant should apply for the Schengen visa to the Consulate of the country which is the main purpose of the trip.
If during one trip the applicant plans to visit several Schengen countries, he/she should apply for the Schengen visa to the Consulate of the country where the applicant expects to spend more days.
If the quantity of days during one trip in all countries is the same, the applicant should submit the visa documents to the Consulate of the country of first entry.
The rules for issuing Schengen visas are regulated by the EU Visa Code.
You can submit documents for schengen visa type C no earlier than 180 days before the start of your trip.

Overview
Important information!
Dear customers, processing time may vary. Below are the approximate terms of consideration from the moment the documents are received by the Consulate General of Hungary in Kazan. If documents are submitted at the regional centers of the Kazan consular district (Ufa, Samara), it is necessary to take into account the time for sending documents, which is at least three working days.
Processing time of visa applications:
- The minimum period for processing of visa applications for all purposes of travel for citizens of the Russian Federation and foreign citizens is 15 calendar days from the date of receipt of documents by the Consulate General.
- Documents are not accepted for urgent processing.
- The day of submission of documents at the visa application center is not taken into account.
- Calendar days mean working days and weekends. If holidays or non–working days fall within the processing period, it will be extended.
- The Consulate General and visa centers are closed on weekends. If the transfer date or the date of receiving documents from the Consulate General falls on the weekend, then the documents will be transferred /received on the next working day after the weekend.
- as per the Article 23 of REGULATION OF THE EUROPEAN PARLIAMENT AND OF THE COUNCIL establishing a Community code on Visas (Visa Code) the period of consideration of your visa application by respective Consular authority may be extended up to a maximum of 45 calendar days.

Visa Fees
Visa Fees for short term Schengen Visa (Visa C):
- Visa Fee for citizens of Russian Federation and for citizens of countries, which do not have Visa Facilitation Agreement with EU is 90 Euro.
- Visa Fee for Children citizens of Russian Federation and for children citizens of countries, which do not have Visa Facilitation Agreement from the age of six years and below the age of 12 is 45 Euro.
- Visa Fee for citizens of Ukraine, the Republic of Belarus, Moldova, Georgia, Serbia, Montenegro, Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, The former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia, Azerbaijan, Armenia, Cape Verde is 35 Euro.
VFS service fee for short term Schengen Visa (Visa C):
In addition to the visa fee, visa centers charge a service fee of 14.5 euros, including VAT, for each application.
List of persons exempt from paying the visa fee for short-term Schengen visas (Visa C):
The visa fee shall be waived for applicants belonging to one of the following categories:
(a) children under six years;
(b) school pupils, students, postgraduate students and accompanying teachers who undertake stays for the purpose of study or educational training;
(c) researchers, as defined in point (2) of Article 3 of Directive (EU) 2016/801 of the European Parliament and of the Council (1), travelling for the purpose of carrying out scientific research or participating in a scientific seminar or conference;
(d) representatives of non-profit organizations aged 25 years or less participating in seminars, conferences, sports, cultural or educational events organized by non-profit organizations.
If you are a family member of a citizen of an EU country/In the European Economic Area (except Hungary) or Switzerland, you may be exempt from the consular fee.
Family member:
- Spouse/registered partner
- Children who are under the age of 21 or who are dependents, as well as children of a spouse or partner who are under the age of 21 or who are dependents.

Direct dependent relatives in the ascending line (for example, parents), as well as direct dependent relatives of a spouse or partner in the ascending line.
To confirm the purpose of the trip, you will additionally need to provide:
- document confirming that you are a family member of an EU citizen (for example: a valid passport of an EU citizen; a birth or marriage certificate; a document confirming that you are dependent on an EU citizen).

document confirming that you are accompanying an EU citizen or you are traveling to an EU citizen and she/he lives in the destination country.
Please, pay attention:
- close relatives (parents who are not dependent (including guardians and trustees), children over 21 year and not dependent (including adopted children), grandparents, grandchildren) of EU citizens (non-Hungarian citizenship) when traveling together for the purpose of travel tourism are not exempt from paying the consular fee. Exemption is possible in agreement with the Consulate if there is an invitation from a close relative to Hungary.
- close relatives (spouses, parents (including guardians and trustees), children (including adopted children), grandparents, grandchildren) of Hungarian citizens are not exempt from paying the consular fee.
Note: The consular fee may be presented for payment, even if you belong to the aforementioned categories of citizens. The decision on this is made during consultations with the Consular Department of the Consulate of Hungary in Kazan, or directly during the consideration of documents.
Please pay attention! Consular and Service fees are paid in cash or by card in rubles at the established exchange rate on the day of submission of the application. The paid fees are not refunded to the client regardless of the outcome of the application.

INTERNATIONAL PASSPORT
The passport must be signed.
- The passport should not have any damage.
- The passport must be valid for at least 3 months after the expiry of the visa
- The passport must not exceed 10 years. Extended passports are not accepted.
- The international passport must contain at least two blank pages for visas
- Passports are accepted without additional covers (plastic, leather).
- Copy of the information page of the valid international passport (page with photo)
- Copies of Schengen visas for the last 3 years.
- If available: copy of the information page of the canceled international passport (page with photo) and Schengen visas for the last 3 years.
NATIONAL PASSPORT (PHOTOCOPY)
- Copy of the first 2 pages of national passport (page with photo, page with information about the place of residence);
- For minors: original and copy of the birth certificate should be provided (for minors under 18 years); From the age of 14: original and copy of national passport should be provided additionally.
2 PHOTOS
- Size - 3.5 x 4.5 cm, color, clear, clean and contrast,
- The photo must be printed on high quality paper on white or light gray background,
- Photos should be made no more than 6 months before,
- The photo must be made from the front, so that the face occupies 70-80% of the photo.
- If the applicant wears glasses, the photo must also meet the following criteria:
- untinted glasses,
- the rim must not cover any part of the eye,
- there must be no reflections
No need to crop and glue the photo on the Application Form, employees of the Visa Application Center will do it for you.
HEALTH INSURANCE POLICY
To get the Schengen visa, you should have a health insurance policy valid in the Schengen countries with minimum coverage of 30 000 EUR or 50 000 USD. To get multiple entry visa, you should have the health insurance policy for the first trip in the Schengen area. Insurance policies issued by insurance companies of the European Agreement and the European Economic Area or Russian insurance companies are accepted (as a general rule, insurance must be issued at the place of permanent residence).
Requirements
- health insurance policy should be valid on the territory of the Schengen Agreement;
- insurance policy should guarantee at a minimum such services that are related to health care and include the following:
- emergency medical care,
- treatment in case of emergency for life and health in hospitals,
- transportation to the nearest medical institution that provides emergency medical care,
- as well as medical treatment in hospitals,
- medical or posthumous repatriation to the country of permanent residence in case of serious illness or death of the insured.
To get Schengen visa, the minimum limit of liability of the insurer specified in the insurance policy during the insurance period must be at least 30 000 EUR or 50 000 USD. Insurance policies issued by insurance companies of the European Agreement and the European Economic Area or Russian insurance companies are accepted only filled in typewritten form.
To get single entry Schengen visa, the health insurance policy must fully cover the dates of the trip. For example, if visa is requested for 10 days from June 1 to June 10, the health insurance policy should be provided from June 1 to June 10 with the validity period of the insurance policy for 10 days.
To get multiple entry visa, the health insurance policy must cover only the first trip in the Schengen area.
Transport
A fully paid round-trip travel document must be provided. An electronic plane ticket is provided, indicating the ticket number, booking number (PNR), the passenger's last name and first name, indicating the air carrier. The ticket must be accompanied by a confirmation of payment for the ticket (original or electronic receipt, bank payment transaction, invoice or cash receipt). Attention! Multi-page correspondence and/or printed screenshots (PrintScreen) showing the process of ordering a ticket do not replace the presented ticket!
The "itinerary receipt" cannot be accepted as an air ticket.
If the validity of the booking cannot be verified on the website of the relevant airline based on the information contained in the ticket, this may lead to the rejection of the application!
If the planned trip involves more than one country, it is also necessary to provide documents for traveling between countries (transfer, documents for car rental, train tickets, etc.), also with payment confirmation. If the applicant travels by train or bus, it is necessary to provide a railway train ticket, or a bus ticket, indicating the applicant's name and surname, route, date and time of travel, a confirmation of payment for the ticket is mandatory (original or electronic receipt, bank payment transaction, invoice or receiptcash order).
In the case of trip by car, the following documents are provided:
Route list
When traveling by your own or rented car, you must provide documents for the vehicle: a certificate of registration of the vehicle, international insurance and a driver's license.
In the case of a rented vehicle, it is necessary to provide a document confirming the fact of renting the vehicle and documents confirming the payment of the lease.
If the driver of the car is the receiving party, then you must provide a letter in any form stating that they are taking you there and back in their own vehicle, documents for the vehicle, international insurance and driver's license, a copy of the driver's visa (if necessary).
DOCUMENTS CONFIRMING AVAILABILITY OF FINANCIAL RESOURCES FOR THE PERIOD OF STAY IN HUNGARY
For those who have their own income:
A bank statement (no older than 1 month) with the movement of funds for 3 months and with a sufficient balance for the trip.
For those who do not have their own income:
A bank statement (no older than 1 month) with a detailed flow of funds for 6 months and with a sufficient balance for the trip or a sponsorship letter.
If a third party pays for your stay in Hungary, then these documents must be submitted in his name. In this case, if the third person is a close relative, then it is necessary to provide a letter of guarantee in any form and documents confirming the relationship (birth certificate, marriage certificate) + a copy of 1 page of the sponsor's passport. For others– a notarized letter of guarantee. The sponsorship letter must contain the following information: personal data of the sponsor (full name, place of birth, time, address, phone number, indication of kinship, if available), data of the sponsored person (full name, place of birth, time, address), the subject of sponsorship (for what purpose, for what period of time, for what expenses coverage is carried out), date, personal signature of the sponsor.
DOCUMENTS THAT MUST BE PROVIDED TO CONFIRM THE ACTIVITY:
The working citizens should provide:
- The original document confirming the availability of regular income as the certificate from the place of work (not older than 1 month) on wages with indication of the employee's position and salary, date of employment and date of end of employment, if relevant, and salary slips for the last six months. It should be indicated in the certificate: address, telephone, organization details, stamp and signature.
- In addition the document “Extract from the Russian Pension and Social Insurance Fund for the last 10 years should be provided. The document should be digitally signed.
For individual entrepreneurs, it is necessary to provide:
- Proof of economic activity (e.g. 2NDFL or 3NDFL form)
- Extract from trade/fiscal registry or certificate for individual business, an extract from the bank account on cash flows for the last 3 months (the seal and signature of the employee must be present on the statement).
- In addition the document “Extract from the Russian Pension and Social Insurance Fund for the last 10 years should be provided. The document should be digitally signed.
For the unemployed:
- A document proving the applicant's ties to Russia (i.e. vital statistics certificate, proof of property ownership)
- A copy of the work booklet’s page with personal data and pages which show the holder’s job history at least during last three years, if applicable.
For students, it is necessary to provide a certificate from the educational institution (not older than 1 month).
- In addition the document “Extract from the Russian Pension and Social Insurance Fund for the last 10 years should be provided. The document should be digitally signed.
In the case of pensioners: Pension certificate (copy + original).
- In addition the document “Extract from the Russian Pension and Social Insurance Fund for the last 10 years should be provided. The document should be digitally signed.
DOCUMENTS CONFIRMING THE PURPOSE OF THE TRIP
100% Paid accommodation (all guests should be indicated: surname, name)
- Voucher for hotel reservation (provided by the travel agency accredited in the Consulate of Hungary) with 100% payment confirmation,
- Confirmation of accommodation directly from the hotel on a letterhead with stamp and signature and 100% payment confirmation,
- Accommodation, issued through an international booking system provided by tourist independently with 100% payment confirmation.
VISITING THE BURIAL OF A CLOSE RELATIVE OR PLACE OF MILITARY BURIAL IN HUNGARY
- Original of an official document confirming the existence of a grave (certificate of burial, certified by local government).
- A document confirming a kinship or other relationship between the requestor and the buried person (the original and a copy of the birth certificate, marriage certificate).
- Accommodation (all guests are indicated: Last name, First name)
- Hotel reservation voucher (provided by a travel agency accredited by the Hungarian Consulate),
- Confirmation of accommodation directly from the hotel on a form with a seal and signature,
- Accommodation, issued independently by the tourist through the international booking system.

- If you are accompanied by a child, please examine the set of mandatory documents.
- The completed Consent to processing of personal data, signed by the applicant personally.

Photo Specifications
Please read the specifications for photographs carefully before submitting your visa application.
The photo needs to display a full frontal view of the face. The size of the face from the bottom of your chin to the hairline must be between 32mm (1 ¼ inches) and 36mm (1 3/8 inches). Please look directly into the camera with a neutral expression and without smiling.
The facial image must be sharp, clear, and with sufficient contrast. Please avoid photos with reflections or shadows on the face or with red eyes. The background should be white. Reflection from glasses, sunglasses, or tinted glasses is not permitted. The eyes cannot be hidden by the glass frames.

Processing Time
The longest period of delivering documents from visa center to the Mission is one week. Mission shall take a decision on the request to issue a visa within 10 calendar days from the date of the receipt of the application and documents required for issuing the visa. The period for taking a decision on a visa application may be extended up to 30 calendar days in individual cases, notably when further scrutiny of the application is needed.

DOCUMENTS CONFIRMING THE PURPOSE OF THE TRIP
Business travelers
A written request from a host company or organization, office or branch, state or local authority of the Russian Federation and a member country or organizing committees of trade and industrial exhibitions, conferences and symposia to participate in meetings, conferences or events related to trade, industry or work; if such a written request cannot be received, other confirmation of the purpose of the trip (for example, information on participation in the conference, entrance ticket to the trade fair, business correspondence, business travel program).
To optimize the process of submitting documents, it is recommended to send in advance an invitation on [email protected] before submitting documents for the purpose of the "Business" in the cities: St. Petersburg and Murmansk.The invitation shall indicate:
- terms of stay,
- type of visa requested for the invited person,
- name of the hotel with an address (the company takes over the payment of the hotel)

- or the address of residence provided by the receiving party
- contact details of the inviting party.
- A written request from the Russian National Carrier Association (ASMAP or PAC) or the national carrier association of a member country indicating the purpose, duration and frequency of travel.

Photo Specifications
Please read the specifications for photographs carefully before submitting your visa application.
The photo needs to display a full frontal view of the face. The size of the face from the bottom of your chin to the hairline must be between 32mm (1 ¼ inches) and 36mm (1 3/8 inches). Please look directly into the camera with a neutral expression and without smiling.
The facial image must be sharp, clear, and with sufficient contrast. Please avoid photos with reflections or shadows on the face or with red eyes. The background should be white. Reflection from glasses, sunglasses, or tinted glasses is not permitted. The eyes cannot be hidden by the glass frames.

HEALTH INSURANCE POLICY
To get the Schengen visa, you should have a health insurance policy valid in the Schengen countries with minimum coverage of 30 000 EUR or 50 000 USD. To get multiple entry visa, you should have the health insurance policy for the first trip in the Schengen area. Insurance policies issued by insurance companies of the European Agreement and the European Economic Area or Russian insurance companies are accepted (as a general rule, insurance must be issued at the place of permanent residence).
Requirements
- health insurance policy should be valid on the territory of the Schengen Agreement;
- insurance policy should guarantee at a minimum such services that are related to health care and include the following:
- emergency medical care,
- treatment in case of emergency for life and health in hospitals,
- transportation to the nearest medical institution that provides emergency medical care,
- as well as medical treatment in hospitals,
- medical or posthumous repatriation to the country of permanent residence in case of serious illness or death of the insured.
To get Schengen visa, the minimum limit of liability of the insurer specified in the insurance policy during the insurance period must be at least 30 000 EUR or 50 000 USD. Insurance policies issued by insurance companies of the European Agreement and the European Economic Area or Russian insurance companies are accepted only filled in typewritten form.
To get single entry Schengen visa, the health insurance policy must fully cover the dates of the trip. For example, if visa is requested for 10 days from June 1 to June 10, the health insurance policy should be provided from June 1 to June 10 with the validity period of the insurance policy for 10 days.
To get multiple entry visa, the health insurance policy must cover only the first trip in the Schengen area.
Transport
A fully paid round-trip travel document must be provided. An electronic plane ticket is provided, indicating the ticket number, booking number (PNR), the passenger's last name and first name, indicating the air carrier. The ticket must be accompanied by a confirmation of payment for the ticket (original or electronic receipt, bank payment transaction, invoice or cash receipt). Attention! If you are a family member of a citizen of an EU country/In the European Economic Area (except Hungary) or Switzerland, you may be exempt from the consular fee.

2 PHOTOS
- Size - 3.5 x 4.5 cm, color, clear, clean and contrast,
- The photo must be printed on high quality paper on white or light gray background,
- Photos should be made no more than 6 months before,
- The photo must be made from the front, so that the face occupies 70-80% of the photo.
- If the applicant wears glasses, the photo must also meet the following criteria:
- untinted glasses,
- the rim must not cover any part of the eye,

HEALTH INSURANCE POLICY
To get the Schengen visa, you should have a health insurance policy valid in the Schengen countries with minimum coverage of 30 000 EUR or 50 000 USD. To get multiple entry visa, you should have the health insurance policy for the first trip in the Schengen area. Insurance policies issued by insurance companies of the European Agreement and the European Economic Area or Russian insurance companies are accepted accepted (as a general rule, insurance must be issued at the place of permanent residence).
Requirements
- health insurance policy should be valid on the territory of the Schengen Agreement;
- insurance policy should guarantee at a minimum such services that are related to health care and include the following:
- emergency medical care,
- treatment in case of emergency for life and health in hospitals,
- transportation to the nearest medical institution that provides emergency medical care,
- as well as medical treatment in hospitals,
- medical or posthumous repatriation to the country of permanent residence in case of serious illness or death of the insured.
To get Schengen visa, the minimum limit of liability of the insurer specified in the insurance policy during the insurance period must be at least 30 000 EUR or 50 000 USD. Insurance policies issued by insurance companies of the European Agreement and the European Economic Area or Russian insurance companies are accepted only filled in typewritten form.
To get single entry Schengen visa, the health insurance policy must fully cover the dates of the trip. For example, if visa is requested for 10 days from June 1 to June 10, the health insurance policy should be provided from June 1 to June 10 with the validity period of the insurance policy for 10 days.
To get multiple entry visa, the health insurance policy must cover only the first trip in the Schengen area.
Transport
A fully paid round-trip travel document must be provided. An electronic plane ticket is provided, indicating the ticket number, booking number (PNR), the passenger's last name and first name, indicating the air carrier. The ticket must be accompanied by a confirmation of payment for the ticket (original or electronic receipt, bank payment transaction, invoice or cash receipt). Attention! When traveling by your own or rented car, you must provide documents for the vehicle: a certificate of registration of the vehicle, international insurance and a driver's license.
In the case of a rented vehicle, it is necessary to provide a document confirming the fact of renting the vehicle and documents confirming the payment of the lease.
If the driver of the car is the receiving party, then you must provide a letter in any form stating that they are taking you there and back in their own vehicle, documents for the vehicle, international insurance and driver's license, a copy of the driver's visa (if necessary).
DOCUMENTS CONFIRMING AVAILABILITY OF FINANCIAL RESOURCES FOR THE PERIOD OF STAY IN HUNGARY
For those who have their own income:
A bank statement (no older than 1 month) with the movement of funds for 3 months and with a sufficient balance for the trip.
For those who do not have their own income:
A bank statement (no older than 1 month) with a detailed flow of funds for 6 months and with a sufficient balance for the trip or a sponsorship letter.
If a third party pays for your stay in Hungary, then these documents must be submitted in his name. In this case, if the third person is a close relative, then it is necessary to provide a letter of guarantee in any form and documents confirming the relationship (birth certificate, marriage certificate) + a copy of 1 page of the sponsor's passport. For others– a notarized letter of guarantee. The sponsorship letter must contain the following information: personal data of the sponsor (full name, place of birth, time, address, phone number, indication of kinship, if available), data of the sponsored person (full name, place of birth, time, address), the subject of sponsorship (for what purpose, for what period of time, for what expenses coverage is carried out), date, personal signature of the sponsor.

Photo Specifications
Please read the specifications for photographs carefully before submitting your visa application.
The photo needs to display a full frontal view of the face. The size of the face from the bottom of your chin to the hairline must be between 32mm (1 ¼ inches) and 36mm (1 3/8 inches). Please look directly into the camera with a neutral expression and without smiling.
The facial image must be sharp, clear, and with sufficient contrast. Please avoid photos with reflections or shadows on the face or with red eyes. The background should be white. Reflection from glasses, sunglasses, or tinted glasses is not permitted. The eyes cannot be hidden by the glass frames.
The photo needs to be printed on high-quality paper with at least 600 dpi resolution; the colors must present a natural appearance and skin tone. The photo must not have kinks, scratches or stains on it.

Processing Time
The longest period of delivering documents from visa center to the Mission is one week. Mission shall take a decision on the request to issue a visa within 10 calendar days from the date of the receipt of the application and documents required for issuing the visa. The period for taking a decision on a visa application may be extended up to 30 calendar days in individual cases, notably when further scrutiny of the application is needed.

Important information!
Dear customers, processing time may vary. Below are the approximate terms of consideration from the moment the documents are received by the Consulate General of Hungary in Kazan. Important information!
Dear customers, processing time may vary. Below are the approximate terms of consideration from the moment the documents are received by the Consulate General of Hungary in Kazan. If documents are submitted at the regional centers of the Kazan consular district (Ufa, Samara), it is necessary to take into account the time for sending documents, which is at least three working days.
Processing time of visa applications:
- The minimum period for processing of visa applications for all purposes of travel for citizens of the Russian Federation and foreign citizens is 15 calendar days from the date of receipt of documents by the Consulate General.

Visa Fees
Visa Fees for short term Schengen Visa (Visa C):
- Visa Fee for citizens of Russian Federation and for citizens of countries, which do not have Visa Facilitation Agreement with EU is 90 Euro.
- Visa Fee for Children citizens of Russian Federation and for children citizens of countries, which do not have Visa Facilitation Agreement from the age of six years and below the age of 12 is 45 Euro.

VFS service fee for short term Schengen Visa (Visa C):
In addition to the visa fee, visa centers charge a service fee of 14.5 euros, including VAT, for each application.
List of persons exempt from paying the visa fee for short-term Schengen visas (Visa C):
The visa fee shall be waived for applicants belonging to one of the following categories:
(a) children under six years;
(b) school pupils, students, postgraduate students and accompanying teachers who undertake stays for the purpose of study or educational training;
(c) researchers, as defined in point (2) of Article 3 of Directive (EU) 2016/801 of the European Parliament and of the Council (1), travelling for the purpose of carrying out scientific research or participating in a scientific seminar or conference;
(d) representatives of non-profit organizations aged 25 years or less participating in seminars, conferences, sports, cultural or educational events organized by non-profit organizations.
If you are a family member of a citizen of an EU country/In the European Economic Area (except Hungary) or Switzerland, you may be exempt from the consular fee.
Family member:
- Spouse/registered partner

To confirm the purpose of the trip, you will additionally need to provide:
- document confirming that you are a family member of an EU citizen (for example: a valid passport of an EU citizen; a birth or marriage certificate; a document confirming that you are dependent on an EU citizen).

Please, pay attention:

Exemption is possible in agreement with the Consulate if there is an invitation from a close relative to Hungary.

Note: The consular fee may be presented for payment, even if you belong to the aforementioned categories of citizens. The decision on this is made during consultations with the Consular Department of the Consulate of Hungary in Kazan, or directly during the consideration of documents.

2 PHOTOS
- Size - 3.5 x 4.5 cm, color, clear, clean and contrast,
- The photo must be printed on high quality paper on white or light gray background,
- Photos should be made no more than 6 months before,
- The photo must be made from the front, so that the face occupies 70-80% of the photo.
- If the applicant wears glasses, the photo must also meet the following criteria:
- untinted glasses,
- the rim must not cover any part of the eye,
- there must be no reflections
No need to crop and glue the photo on the Application Form, employees of the Visa Application Center will do it for you.
HEALTH INSURANCE POLICY
To get the Schengen visa, you should have a health insurance policy valid in the Schengen countries with minimum coverage of 30 000 EUR or 50 000 USD. To get multiple entry visa, you should have the health insurance policy for the first trip in the Schengen area. Insurance policies issued by insurance companies of the European Agreement and the European Economic Area or Russian insurance companies are accepted(as a general rule, insurance must be issued at the place of permanent residence).
Requirements
- health insurance policy should be valid on the territory of the Schengen Agreement;
- insurance policy should guarantee at a minimum such services that are related to health care and include the following:
- emergency medical care,
- treatment in case of emergency for life and health in hospitals,
- transportation to the nearest medical institution that provides emergency medical care,
- as well as medical treatment in hospitals,
- medical or posthumous repatriation to the country of permanent residence in case of serious illness or death of the insured.
To get Schengen visa, the minimum limit of liability of the insurer specified in the insurance policy during the insurance period must be at least 30 000 EUR or 50 000 USD. Insurance policies issued by insurance companies of the European Agreement and the European Economic Area or Russian insurance companies are accepted only filled in typewritten form.
To get single entry Schengen visa, the health insurance policy must fully cover the dates of the trip. For example, if visa is requested for 10 days from June 1 to June 10, the health insurance policy should be provided from June 1 to June 10 with the validity period of the insurance policy for 10 days.
To get multiple entry visa, the health insurance policy must cover only the first trip in the Schengen area.
Transport
A fully paid round-trip travel document must be provided. An electronic plane ticket is provided, indicating the ticket number, booking number (PNR), the passenger's last name and first name, indicating the air carrier. The ticket must be accompanied by a confirmation of payment for the ticket (original or electronic receipt, bank payment transaction, invoice or cash receipt). Attention! Multi-page correspondence and/or printed screenshots (PrintScreen) showing the process of ordering a ticket do not replace the presented ticket!
The "itinerary receipt" cannot be accepted as an air ticket.
If the validity of the booking cannot be verified on the website of the relevant airline based on the information contained in the ticket, this may lead to the rejection of the application!
If the planned trip involves more than one country, it is also necessary to provide documents for traveling between countries (transfer, documents for car rental, train tickets, etc.), also with payment confirmation. If the applicant travels by train or bus, it is necessary to provide a railway train ticket, or a bus ticket, indicating the applicant's name and surname, route, date and time of travel, a confirmation of payment for the ticket is mandatory (original or electronic receipt, bank payment transaction, invoice or receiptcash order).

Route list
When traveling by your own or rented car, you must provide documents for the vehicle: a certificate of registration of the vehicle, international insurance and a driver's license.
In the case of a rented vehicle, it is necessary to provide a document confirming the fact of renting the vehicle and documents confirming the payment of the lease.
If the driver of the car is the receiving party, then you must provide a letter in any form stating that they are taking you there and back in their own vehicle, documents for the vehicle, international insurance and driver's license, a copy of the driver's visa (if necessary).
DOCUMENTS CONFIRMING AVAILABILITY OF FINANCIAL RESOURCES FOR THE PERIOD OF STAY IN HUNGARY
For those who have their own income:
A bank statement (no older than 1 month) with the movement of funds for 3 months and with a sufficient balance for the trip.
For those who do not have their own income:
A bank statement (no older than 1 month) with a detailed flow of funds for 6 months and with a sufficient balance for the trip or a sponsorship letter.
If a third party pays for your stay in Hungary, then these documents must be submitted in his name. In this case, if the third person is a close relative, then it is necessary to provide a letter of guarantee in any form and documents confirming the relationship (birth certificate, marriage certificate) + a copy of 1 page of the sponsor's passport. For others– a notarized letter of guarantee. The sponsorship letter must contain the following information: personal data of the sponsor (full name, place of birth, time, address, phone number, indication of kinship, if available), data of the sponsored person (full name, place of birth, time, address), the subject of sponsorship (for what purpose, for what period of time, for what expenses coverage is carried out), date, personal signature of the sponsor.
DOCUMENTS THAT MUST BE PROVIDED TO CONFIRM THE ACTIVITY:
The working citizens should provide:
- The original document confirming the availability of regular income as the certificate from the place of work (not older than 1 month) on wages with indication of the employee's position and salary, date of employment and date of end of employment, if relevant, and salary slips for the last six months. It should be indicated in the certificate: address, telephone, organization details, stamp and signature.
- In addition the document “Extract from the Russian Pension and Social Insurance Fund for the last 10 years should be provided. The document should be digitally signed.
For individual entrepreneurs, it is necessary to provide:
- Proof of economic activity (e.g. 2NDFL or 3NDFL form)
- Extract from trade/fiscal registry or certificate for individual business, an extract from the bank account on cash flows for the last 3 months (the seal and signature of the employee must be present on the statement).
- In addition the document “Extract from the Russian Pension and Social Insurance Fund for the last 10 years should be provided. The document should be digitally signed.
For the unemployed:
- A document proving the applicant's ties to Russia (i.e. vital statistics certificate, proof of property ownership)
- A copy of the work booklet’s page with personal data and pages which show the holder’s job history at least during last three years, if applicable.
For students, it is necessary to provide a certificate from the educational institution (not older than 1 month).

In the case of pensioners: Pension certificate (copy + original).

DOCUMENTS CONFIRMING THE PURPOSE OF THE TRIP
- Original or copy of the invitation from the host organization (competent institution)
- Guarantee letter from the sending party.
The invitation with indication the place of residence, or the voucher for booking of the hotel on the hotel's letterhead in the original or copy, or the electronic reservation where all guests are indicated (surname, name).
- Accommodation if it is not indicated in the invitation (all guests should be indicated: surname, name)
- Voucher for hotel reservation (provided by the travel agency accredited in the Consulate of Hungary),
- Confirmation of accommodation directly from the hotel on a letterhead with stamp and signature,
Accommodation, issued through an international booking system provided by tourist independently.

Photo Specifications
Please read the specifications for photographs carefully before submitting your visa application.
The photo needs to display a full frontal view of the face. The size of the face from the bottom of your chin to the hairline must be between 32mm (1 ¼ inches) and 36mm (1 3/8 inches). Please look directly into the camera with a neutral expression and without smiling.
The facial image must be sharp, clear, and with sufficient contrast. Please avoid photos with reflections or shadows on the face or with red eyes. The background should be white. Reflection from glasses, sunglasses, or tinted glasses is not permitted. The eyes cannot be hidden by the glass frames.
The photo needs to be printed on high-quality paper with at least 600 dpi resolution; the colors must present a natural appearance and skin tone. The photo must not have kinks, scratches or stains on it.

Processing Time
The longest period of delivering documents from visa center to the Mission is one week. Mission shall take a decision on the request to issue a visa within 10 calendar days from the date of the receipt of the application and documents required for issuing the visa. Participants in the official programs of twin cities:
- A written request from the head of administration / mayor of the city in which the event is planned as part of the twin city program.

- For the unemployed, it is necessary to provide the original of the bank account statement for last 3 months (not older than 1 month) with a sufficient balance for the trip (it should be indicated in the statement: currency, date of issue, stamp with bank's details and signature of the bank's employee). If your stay in Hungary is paid by a third party, then these documents should be submitted on his name. If the third party is a close relative, then it is necessary to provide a sponsorship letter in an arbitrary form and documents proving the relationship. For others - notarized sponsorship letter. Photo Specifications
Please read the specifications for photographs carefully before submitting your visa application.
The photo needs to display a full frontal view of the face. The size of the face from the bottom of your chin to the hairline must be between 32mm (1 ¼ inches) and 36mm (1 3/8 inches). Please look directly into the camera with a neutral expression and without smiling.
The facial image must be sharp, clear, and with sufficient contrast. Please avoid photos with reflections or shadows on the face or with red eyes. The background should be white. Reflection from glasses, sunglasses, or tinted glasses is not permitted. The eyes cannot be hidden by the glass frames.
The photo needs to be printed on high-quality paper with at least 600 dpi resolution; the colors must present a natural appearance and skin tone. The photo must not have kinks, scratches or stains on it.

Processing Time
The longest period of delivering documents from visa center to the Mission is one week. Mission shall take a decision on the request to issue a visa within 10 calendar days from the date of the receipt of the application and documents required for issuing the visa. The period for taking a decision on a visa application may be extended up to 30 calendar days in individual cases, notably when further scrutiny of the application is needed.

Overview
Important information!
Dear customers, processing time may vary. Below are the approximate terms of consideration from the moment the documents are received by the Consulate General of Hungary in Kazan. If documents are submitted at the regional centers of the Kazan consular district (Ufa, Samara), it is necessary to take into account the time for sending documents, which is at least three working days.
Processing time of visa applications:
- The minimum period for processing of visa applications for all purposes of travel for citizens of the Russian Federation and foreign citizens is 15 calendar days from the date of receipt of documents by the Consulate General.
- Documents are not accepted for urgent processing.
- The day of submission of documents at the visa application center is not taken into account.
- Calendar days mean working days and weekends. If holidays or non–working days fall within the processing period, it will be extended.
- The Consulate General and visa centers are closed on weekends. If the transfer date or the date of receiving documents from the Consulate General falls on the weekend, then the documents will be transferred /received on the next working day after the weekend.

Visa Fees
Visa Fees for short term Schengen Visa (Visa C):
- Visa Fee for citizens of Russian Federation and for citizens of countries, which do not have Visa Facilitation Agreement with EU is 90 Euro.
- Visa Fee for Children citizens of Russian Federation and for children citizens of countries, which do not have Visa Facilitation Agreement from the age of six years and below the age of 12 is 45 Euro.
- Visa Fee for citizens of Ukraine, the Republic of Belarus, Moldova, Georgia, Serbia, Montenegro, Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, The former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia, Azerbaijan, Armenia, Cape Verde is 35 Euro.
VFS service fee for short term Schengen Visa (Visa C):
In addition to the visa fee, visa centers charge a service fee of 14.5 euros, including VAT, for each application.
List of persons exempt from paying the visa fee for short-term Schengen visas (Visa C):
The visa fee shall be waived for applicants belonging to one of the following categories:
(a) children under six years;
(b) school pupils, students, postgraduate students and accompanying teachers who undertake stays for the purpose of study or educational training;
(c) researchers, as defined in point (2) of Article 3 of Directive (EU) 2016/801 of the European Parliament and of the Council (1), travelling for the purpose of carrying out scientific research or participating in a scientific seminar or conference;
(d) representatives of non-profit organizations aged 25 years or less participating in seminars, conferences, sports, cultural or educational events organized by non-profit organizations.
If you are a family member of a citizen of an EU country/In the European Economic Area (except Hungary) or Switzerland, you may be exempt from the consular fee.
Family member:
- Spouse/registered partner
- Children who are under the age of 21 or who are dependents, as well as children of a spouse or partner who are under the age of 21 or who are dependents.

Direct dependent relatives in the ascending line (for example, parents), as well as direct dependent relatives of a spouse or partner in the ascending line.
To confirm the purpose of the trip, you will additionally need to provide:
- document confirming that you are a family member of an EU citizen (for example: a valid passport of an EU citizen; a birth or marriage certificate; a document confirming that you are dependent on an EU citizen).

document confirming that you are accompanying an EU citizen or you are traveling to an EU citizen and she/he lives in the destination country.
Please, pay attention:
- close relatives (parents who are not dependent (including guardians and trustees), children over 21 year and not dependent (including adopted children), grandparents, grandchildren) of EU citizens (non-Hungarian citizenship) when traveling together for the purpose of travel tourism are not exempt from paying the consular fee. Exemption is possible in agreement with the Consulate if there is an invitation from a close relative to Hungary.
- close relatives (spouses, parents (including guardians and trustees), children (including adopted children), grandparents, grandchildren) of Hungarian citizens are not exempt from paying the consular fee.
Note: The consular fee may be presented for payment, even if you belong to the aforementioned categories of citizens. The decision on this is made during consultations with the Consular Department of the Consulate of Hungary in Kazan, or directly during the consideration of documents.
Please pay attention! Consular and Service fees are paid in cash or by card in rubles at the established exchange rate on the day of submission of the application. The paid fees are not refunded to the client regardless of the outcome of the application.

INTERNATIONAL PASSPORT
The passport must be signed.
- The passport should not have any damage.
- The passport must be valid for at least 3 months after the expiry of the visa
- The passport must not exceed 10 years. Extended passports are not accepted.
- The international passport must contain at least two blank pages for visas
- Passports are accepted without additional covers (plastic, leather).
- Copy of the information page of the valid international passport (page with photo)
- Copies of Schengen visas for the last 3 years.
- If available: copy of the information page of the canceled international passport (page with photo) and Schengen visas for the last 3 years.
NATIONAL PASSPORT (PHOTOCOPY)
- Copy of the first 2 pages of national passport (page with photo, page with information about the place of residence);
- For minors: original and copy of the birth certificate should be provided (for minors under 18 years); From the age of 14: original and copy of national passport should be provided additionally.
2 PHOTOS
- Size - 3.5 x 4.5 cm, color, clear, clean and contrast,
- The photo must be printed on high quality paper on white or light gray background,
- Photos should be made no more than 6 months before,
- The photo must be made from the front, so that the face occupies 70-80% of the photo.
- If the applicant wears glasses, the photo must also meet the following criteria:
- untinted glasses,
- the rim must not cover any part of the eye,
- there must be no reflections
No need to crop and glue the photo on the Application Form, employees of the Visa Application Center will do it for you.
HEALTH INSURANCE POLICY
To get the Schengen visa, you should have a health insurance policy valid in the Schengen countries with minimum coverage of 30 000 EUR or 50 000 USD. To get multiple entry visa, you should have the health insurance policy for the first trip in the Schengen area. Insurance policies issued by insurance companies of the European Agreement and the European Economic Area or Russian insurance companies are accepted (as a general rule, insurance must be issued at the place of permanent residence).
Requirements
- health insurance policy should be valid on the territory of the Schengen Agreement;
- insurance policy should guarantee at a minimum such services that are related to health care and include the following:
- emergency medical care,
- treatment in case of emergency for life and health in hospitals,
- transportation to the nearest medical institution that provides emergency medical care,
- as well as medical treatment in hospitals,
- medical or posthumous repatriation to the country of permanent residence in case of serious illness or death of the insured.
To get Schengen visa, the minimum limit of liability of the insurer specified in the insurance policy during the insurance period must be at least 30 000 EUR or 50 000 USD. Insurance policies issued by insurance companies of the European Agreement and the European Economic Area or Russian insurance companies are accepted only filled in typewritten form.
To get single entry Schengen visa, the health insurance policy must fully cover the dates of the trip. For example, if visa is requested for 10 days from June 1 to June 10, the health insurance policy should be provided from June 1 to June 10 with the validity period of the insurance policy for 10 days.
To get multiple entry visa, the health insurance policy must cover only the first trip in the Schengen area.
Transport
A fully paid round-trip travel document must be provided. An electronic plane ticket is provided, indicating the ticket number, booking number (PNR), the passenger's last name and first name, indicating the air carrier. The ticket must be accompanied by a confirmation of payment for the ticket (original or electronic receipt, bank payment transaction, invoice or cash receipt). Attention! Multi-page correspondence and/or printed screenshots (PrintScreen) showing the process of ordering a ticket do not replace the presented ticket!
The "itinerary receipt" cannot be accepted as an air ticket.
If the validity of the booking cannot be verified on the website of the relevant airline based on the information contained in the ticket, this may lead to the rejection of the application!
If the planned trip involves more than one country, it is also necessary to provide documents for traveling between countries (transfer, documents for car rental, train tickets, etc.), also with payment confirmation. If the applicant travels by train or bus, it is necessary to provide a railway train ticket, or a bus ticket, indicating the applicant's name and surname, route, date and time of travel, a confirmation of payment for the ticket is mandatory (original or electronic receipt, bank payment transaction, invoice or receiptcash order).
In the case of trip by car, the following documents are provided:
Route list
When traveling by your own or rented car, you must provide documents for the vehicle: a certificate of registration of the vehicle, international insurance and a driver's license.
In the case of a rented vehicle, it is necessary to provide a document confirming the fact of renting the vehicle and documents confirming the payment of the lease.
If the driver of the car is the receiving party, then you must provide a letter in any form stating that they are taking you there and back in their own vehicle, documents for the vehicle, international insurance and driver's license, a copy of the driver's visa (if necessary).
DOCUMENTS CONFIRMING AVAILABILITY OF FINANCIAL RESOURCES FOR THE PERIOD OF STAY IN HUNGARY
For those who have their own income:
A bank statement (no older than 1 month) with the movement of funds for 3 months and with a sufficient balance for the trip.
For those who do not have their own income:
A bank statement (no older than 1 month) with a detailed flow of funds for 6 months and with a sufficient balance for the trip or a sponsorship letter.
If a third party pays for your stay in Hungary, then these documents must be submitted in his name. In this case, if the third person is a close relative, then it is necessary to provide a letter of guarantee in any form and documents confirming the relationship (birth certificate, marriage certificate) + a copy of 1 page of the sponsor's passport. For others– a notarized letter of guarantee. The sponsorship letter must contain the following information: personal data of the sponsor (full name, place of birth, time, address, phone number, indication of kinship, if available), data of the sponsored person (full name, place of birth, time, address), the subject of sponsorship (for what purpose, for what period of time, for what expenses coverage is carried out), date, personal signature of the sponsor.
DOCUMENTS THAT MUST BE PROVIDED TO CONFIRM THE ACTIVITY:
The working citizens should provide:
- The original document confirming the availability of regular income as the certificate from the place of work (not older than 1 month) on wages with indication of the employee's position and salary, date of employment and date of end of employment, if relevant, and salary slips for the last six months. It should be indicated in the certificate: address, telephone, organization details, stamp and signature.
- In addition the document “Extract from the Russian Pension and Social Insurance Fund for the last 10 years should be provided. The document should be digitally signed.
For individual entrepreneurs, it is necessary to provide:
- Proof of economic activity (e.g. 2NDFL or 3NDFL form)
- Extract from trade/fiscal registry or certificate for individual business, an extract from the bank account on cash flows for the last 3 months (the seal and signature of the employee must be present on the statement).
- In addition the document “Extract from the Russian Pension and Social Insurance Fund for the last 10 years should be provided. The document should be digitally signed.
For the unemployed:
- A document proving the applicant's ties to Russia (i.e. vital statistics certificate, proof of property ownership)
- A copy of the work booklet’s page with personal data and pages which show the holder’s job history at least during last three years, if applicable.
For students, it is necessary to provide a certificate from the educational institution (not older than 1 month).
- In addition the document “Extract from the Russian Pension and Social Insurance Fund for the last 10 years should be provided. The document should be digitally signed.
In the case of pensioners: Pension certificate (copy + original).

DOCUMENTS CONFIRMING THE PURPOSE OF THE TRIP
From 01 January 2019, Law No. I of 2007 does not apply to short-term visits of family members of Hungarian citizens from third countries who are required to enter a country to enter the country.
