• Applicable for the purpose of attending a business meeting, a conference or a short professional training in Italy.
• The Schengen visa may be issued for a single entry, for two entries, or as a multiple entry visa in case the applicant proves the need or justifies the intention to travel frequently as well as proves his/her integrity and reliability, in particular the lawful use of previous Schengen visas, etc. (as per Schengen Visa Code, Article 24). A non-EU citizen traveller, regardless of the fact whether he/she is subject to visa obligation, may stay in the Schengen area for a maximum of 90 days in any 180-day period.
• It is advisable to plan your travel well in advance to avoid any inconvenience.

• Please note the Visa Fees will need to be paid at the Italy Visa Application Centre in Cash/ Debit card/ Credit card in BHD only
• In addition to the above, applicants will also have to pay VFS Service charge of BHD 5.10 at the Visa application centre.

• Must be an up-to-date photograph (preferably maximum 3 months old)
• Must be a colour photograph printed on normal photographic paper
• Should be passport sized 3,5 x 4,5 cm
• Close up to your head and top of your shoulders so that your face takes up 70-90% of the photograph
• Full face taken straight forward 30 - 36 mm from point of the chin to head of hair
• Taken against a light background
• Without sunglasses
• Without hat or other head covering unless you wear this for religious reasons
• Spectacles should not have toned or reflecting glasses
• The frame of the spectacles may not cover the eyes
• The mouth must be closed

Usually, the processing time at the Embassy can take up to 15 working days. However, the processing time may take shorter or longer, depending on the nationality of the applicant. Customers can apply for the visa 6 months in advance from the planned travel date.

• This visa is solely for the purpose of leisure travel including vacationing, cruising, sightseeing and other recreational activities. If during any portion of their visit to Italy the applicant intends to engage in business, or official duties he/she must refer to other relevant visa categories.

You may apply for a Schengen visa based on the country of destination, which means the country where you need to lodge your application, according to the Schengen rules.

These rules are as follows:

• If you are going to visit only one Schengen country, file your application at the embassy/consulate/visa centre of that country
• If you are going to visit more than two Schengen countries, file your application:
• At the embassy/consulate/visa centre of the country where will be the main destination, or where you will spend most days if you will be spending an unequal amount of days in each
• At the embassy/consulate/visa centre of the country where you will step first, if you will be spending an equal amount of days in each

This visa is for applicants who are basically transiting through Italy and it mainly issued for Seaman’s whose vessels are expected to transit through Italy.
