Overview
The airport transit visa allows a foreign national subject to the obligation to enter the international transit area of airports without actually entering the territory of the Contracting Party which issued the visa.
(Maximum duration of stay: 24 hours, Applicant cannot leave the airport)
This kind of Visa is also granted to Seamen who need to embark a ship docked in an Italian Port.
Seamen are not required to book an appointment to lodge their application for transit Visa and they can walk-in as they can benefit of our dedicated counter.

- Focus on the applicant's face and have high definition.
- Print on paper used for good quality photography.
- See all faces. Not smiling (no glasses, hats, or headscarves) However, the embassy still allows applicants to wear religious headscarves.
- Please attach only the photo with glue to the visa application form (no stapler) and for the second photo, submit it along with other documents to the officer at the visa application center.
- Caution: If the photo does not meet the requirements listed above, it may affect the consideration of your visa application. Therefore, you should be careful in complying with the conditions set.

The processing time for visa applications takes 15 calendar days. In some cases, the processing time may be extended to 45 days or more at the discretion of the Italian Embassy for any reason.
Visa applicants are advised to submit their visa application documents no less than 15 days to travel as it cannot be guaranteed that your application will be considered in time for travel.
The Visa Application Center does not have any rights/influence. Extension of time for visa application or speed up considering a visa application

Processing Time
Application for a Schengen (short-term) visa can be filed within 180 days preceding the planned trip. Applications are in most cases reviewed within 5 working days. In individual cases, the review period can be extended up to 30 days and more at the discretion of the Embassy of Italy for any reason. It is recommended not to file a visa application later than 15 days before the trip, as it cannot be otherwise guaranteed it will be reviewed in time.
Visa Application Centre has no right to influence anyhow the processing time of visa applications as well to accelerate the application.
Please note that you may be required to appear before a Visa Officer for a personal interview at the Italian Embassy prior to a decision being taken on your application. Overview
A business visa is granted for those who are invited by an Italian company / business partner to visit Italy for business purposes for a short period of stay (not more than 90 days).
Applicants falling under this category are not required to book an appointment as they can just walk-in and benefit of our dedicated Business counter.
Invitations to cultural activities, conferences and meetings other than commercial are out of the business scope and do not fall under this Visa Type.

This visa is issued to sports people (athletes and trainers) invited to participate in competitions (both professionals and amateurs) only for a short term period of time, maximum 90 days. Photo specifications
Please note: The photographs used to apply for the visa must meet the standards set out below.
Please bring 2 photographs taken within 6 months of age that are color photographs and have the following characteristics:- The background is light (white or cream). that can make the applicant's face clearly visible.
- Focus on the applicant's face and have high definition.
- Print on paper used for good quality photography.
- See all faces. Not smiling (no glasses, hats, or headscarves) However, the embassy still allows applicants to wear religious headscarves.
- Please attach only the photo with glue to the visa application form (no stapler) and for the second photo, submit it along with other documents to the officer at the visa application center.
- Caution: If the photo does not meet the requirements listed above, it may affect the consideration of your visa application. Therefore, you should be careful in complying with the conditions set.

Period of application consideration
You can apply for a (short-term) Schengen visa within 90 days before your trip.
The processing time for visa applications takes 15 calendar days. In some cases, the processing time may be extended to 45 days or more at the discretion of the Italian Embassy for any reason.
Visa applicants are advised to submit their visa application documents no less than 15 days to travel as it cannot be guaranteed that your application will be considered in time for travel.
The Visa Application Center does not have any rights/influence. Extension of time for visa application or speed up considering a visa application

You may be required to present yourself to a visa officer at the Italian consulate for an interview before the embassy can consider your visa application.
The embassy reserves the right to request additional documents during the visa application process.
