VISA TYPES
Select the visa type that is right for you to see important information on visa fees, documents required, forms, photo specifications and processing times.
Short term Visa
All applications have to be made in person by the applicant in order to complete the biometric enrolment process.
All applicants must fully comply with relevant documentation required for respective visa categories. Incomplete applications may not be accepted.
Those applying for short-stay Schengen visas (which include business, tourist, visiting family and friends, attending cultural or sports events or conferences and spouses of Latvian nationals visiting family and friends) are advised to submit their application at the Latvia Visa Application Centre in Manama, The Kingdom of Bahrain.
The Schengen countries require visitors to obtain a common visa, which permits entry into the Area.

Business

Overview
Applicable for the purpose of attending a business meeting, a conference or a short professional training in the Latvia.
The Schengen visa may be issued for a single entry (as a rule for the 1st time visitors of the Schengen area), for two entries, or as a multiple entry visa in case the applicant proves the need or justifies the intention to travel frequently as well as proves his/her integrity and reliability, in particular the lawful use of previous Schengen visas, etc. (as per Schengen Visa Code, Article 24). A non-EU citizen traveller, regardless of the fact whether he/she is subject to visa obligation, may stay in the Schengen area for a maximum of 90 days in any 180-day period.

Visa Fees applicable for Tourist, Relatives/Friend, Business, Conference, Sports and Cultural are: -

VFS SERVICE CHARGE
Applicants applying at the Latvia Visa Application Centre shall be levied a service charge of BHD 31.6 (Inclusive of 10% VAT) payable in cash
Please Note:
- The applicable visa fee in Bahraini Dinar is as per the current exchange rate. The same is subject to change without notice.
- The Visa fee and service charges is non-refundable in case the visa is refused.
Children below the age of 6 years on the date of submission at VFS are exempted of the Visa Fee. However VFS service charges and delivery fee will be applicable.
VISA Fee Exemption:
The following pay no Visa fee:
- Family members of a citizen of a Member State of the European Union or of a state which is bound by the Treaty on the European Economic Area or of a state bound by an international treaty with the European Communities, notwithstanding their nationality are exempt from the fee. The definition of a family member includes a spouse, direct descendants who are less than 21 years old or who are dependent on the EU citizen, in certain cases also other family members (for verification kindly contact the Embassy).
- Persons under 6 years of age are exempt from the fee.
- Acceptance of an application to issue a visa in a diplomatic passport is exempt from the fee.
- Pupils, students, postgraduate students and accompanying teachers on journeys for the purpose of study or professional training in education are exempt from payment of fees.
- Researchers travelling within the Community for the purpose of carrying out scientific research are exempt from fees in accordance with the Recommendation No. 2005/761/ES of the European Parliament and the Council of 28 September 2005 to facilitate the issue of short-stay visas for researchers from third countries travelling within the Community for the purpose of carrying out scientific research.

Both the standard and the supporting documentation have to be recent, i.e. not older than 1 month, and need to be provided for every Schengen visa application.

Overview
Applicable for solely tourism purposes. If tourism is joined with another purpose such as a business meeting, visit of relatives/wedding, cultural event, etc., such other purpose should be declared as the main one.

Visiting Family & Friends

Overview
In case of staying with family or friends in the Latvia, outside the commercial accommodation facility, the foreigner is obliged to report within 3 working days after the arrival in the Latvia to the respective local immigration police authority.

Spouses Of Latvian Nationals Visiting Family and Friends

Overview
Every applicant, including children/infants, has to submit his/her Schengen visa application in person.

Applicants, who intend to travel to visit and stay with family/friends legally residing in Latvia, and are a spouse of a Latvian National, need to apply under this category
Eligibility
Applicant must at least meet the following criteria in order to be eligible to submit a Schengen visa application:
- holding a valid passport/travel document
- holding a valid Saudi residence permit. In case applicant holds a visit stay visa for Saudi Arabia, a C type visa, then applicant needs to apply for a Schengen visa from his/her country of residence
- applying for a short stay visa: Tourist (including Minors), Visitor Family/Friends, Business, EEA/EU and Swiss national family member or Airport Transit
