Overview
SCHENGEN VISA
- Airport transit visa (A) - a visa valid for transit through the international transit areas of one or more airports of the Schengen Member States (applies only for Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Democratic Republic of the Congo, Eritrea, Ethiopia, Ghana, Iran, Iraq, Nigeria, Pakistan, Somalia, Sri Lanka nationals).
- Short-stay visa (C) – a visa valid for transit through or an intended stay in the territory of the Schengen Member States of a duration of no more than 90 days in any 180-day period.
WHO CAN APPLY?
Lithuanian Visa Authorities are competent for examining and deciding on an application for a uniform visa if:
- Lithuanian territory constitutes the sole destination of the visit(s);
- if the visit includes more than one destination, or if several separate visits are to be carried out within a period of two months, Lithuanian territory shall constitute the main destination of the visit(s) in terms of the length of stay, counted in days, or the purpose of stay; or
- if no main destination can be determined, Lithuanian external border should be first the applicant intends to cross in order to enter the territory of Schengen Member States.
Visa authorities of the Republic of Lithuania are competent for examining and deciding on an application for a uniform visa for the purpose of transit if:
- in the case of transit through Lithuania only; or
- in the case of transit through several Schengen Member States, Lithuanian external border should be first the applicant intends to cross to start the transit.
Visa applications of Uzbekistan residents are processed and decisions made by the Consulate General of the Republic of Lithuania in Almaty . Citizens of other countries who require a Schengen visa can apply at Lithuanian Visa Authority if they can justify a long legal stay in Uzbekistan (have a residence permit in Uzbekistan). The Lithuanian Visa Authority also considers an application submitted by a third-country national who is legally present but does not reside in a place under its jurisdiction and makes a decision on it if the visa applicant has substantiated the submission of the application in that visa authority.
We also inform you that documents for obtaining a visa are submitted exclusively at the VFS Global Visa Application Centre in Tashkent and submission of documents is only possible in person.
WHERE AND HOW TO APPLY?
Documents for obtaining a visa are submitted exclusively at VFS Global Visa Application Center in Tashkent.
Documents for obtaining Schengen visas can be submitted directly to the Lithuanian Visa Authority only by third-country nationals who are beneficiaries in accordance with p. 1 of Article 3 of Directive 2004/38 / EC (on the right of citizens of the Union and their family members to free movement and residence), as well as members of official delegations.
Beneficiaries of Directive 2004/38/EC and members of official delegations are accepted at the premises of Consulate General of the Republic of Lithuania in Almaty during business hours of the consular section, by appointment by phone +7 727 263 10 40 or by e-mail - [email protected]
WHEN TO APPLY?
At the time of submission of the first application, the applicant is required to appear in person. Applications shall be lodged no more than 6 months, and for seafarers in the performance of their duties no more than 9 months, before the start of the intended visit, and, as a rule, no later than 15 calendar days (+15 days for delivery of application must be taken into account) before the start of the intended visit.
DECISION ON THE APPLICATION AND THE APPEAL PROCEDURE
Applicants who have been refused a visa are notified by means of the standard form on the refusal, annulment or revocation of the visa, stating the reasons for the decision.
Applicants have the right to appeal against the decisions to the Regional Administrative Court (Žygimantų St. 2, LT-01102 Vilnius, tel .: +370 5 264 8703) within 14 days from the date of the delivery of the decision. In accordance with the procedure established by the Law of the Republic of Lithuania on the Legal Status of Aliens and the Law on Administrative Proceedings of the Republic of Lithuania, an appeal must be lodged in Lithuanian, and documents written in other languages must be translated into Lithuanian and approved in accordance with the established procedure. A stamp duty of EUR 30 must be paid for the appeal (if the appeal is lodged to a court only by electronic means, 75 % of the amount of the stamp duty must be paid).
The decision to refuse to issue a visa cannot be appealed administratively.
Other complaints
Applicants may lodge complaints about the conduct of staff at visa authorities of the Republic of Lithuania and, where applicable, of the external service providers or the application process. In accordance with the Article 2 p. 12 of the 1999 June 17 Law on Public Administration of the Republic of Lithuania No. VIII-1234, a complaint is a written application of a person to a public administration entity, stating that his or her rights or legitimate interests have been violated and asking to defend them. The complaint can be lodged to the Consulate General or directly to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Complaints are examined in accordance with the procedure laid down in Article 14 and Section 3 of the Law, decisions on appeals shall be taken within 20 working days. Where, for objective reasons, the complaint cannot be dealt with within that period, the period may be extended, but for no longer than 10 working days. The person shall be notified in writing of the extension within 2 working days.

Visa Fees
The fee for processing Schengen visa application shall amount to 90 euros
- Citizens of the country: Azerbaijan, Albania, Armenia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Georgia, North Macedonia , Moldova, Montenegro, Serbia, Cape Verde , Ukraine and Belarus pay 35 euros
- For children from 6 to 12 years old the pay is 45 euros
In accordance with Article 16(4) of Visa Code consular fees shall not be charged for:
- children under six years;
- school pupils, students, postgraduate students and accompanying teachers who undertake stays for the purpose of study or educational training;
- researchers, as defined in point (2) of Article 3 of Directive (EU) 2016/801 of the European Parliament and of the Council (8), travelling for the purpose of carrying out scientific research or participating in a scientific seminar or conference.
- representatives of non-profit organizations aged 25 years or less participating in seminars; conferences, sports, cultural or educational events organized by non-profit organizations.
- cases provided for in Article 16, Part 5 of the Visa Code, when applications are submitted by foreigners whose countries of citizenship do not apply the visa regime to citizens of the Republic of Lithuania or whose countries of citizenship apply no less favorable conditions to citizens of the Republic of Lithuania than those provided for in Article 16, Part 5 of the Visa Code.
- Family members of citizens of the Republic of Lithuania and other European Union Member States or Member States of the European Free Trade Association.
The ratio between local currencies and the euro exchange rate is reviewed and adjusted accordingly at least once a month.
Important Note:
- The above-mentioned visa fees in euros (EUR) are paid in Uzbek sums (UZS) at the official exchange rate of the Central Bank on the day of payment.
- Please note all the fees are paid in the visa application center online by using Uzcard or Cash in UZS. Please call at helpdesk or visit visa application center for more information.
- Visa fees once paid is not refundable under any circumstances including visa rejection.
VFS SERVICE FEE
Apart from the visa fee, VFS service charge of the equivalent of 33.80 EUR (in UZS) inclusive of VAT per application will be levied for applicants applying at the Visa Application Centre (children under 12 years exempt from VFS fees). This is applicable for all categories of visa applications.

Documents Required
A. CRITERIA FOR AN APPLICATION TO BE CONSIDERED ADMISSIBLE
- Additionally, please remember the following application requirements:
- Each applicant must complete the form in English.
- The application must be signed by the applicant.
- Each person included in the applicant’s travel document must submit a separate application form.
- For minors, the application must be signed by the person exercising permanent or temporary parental authority or legal guardianship.
- The applicant shall present a valid travel document satisfying the following criteria:
- its validity shall extend at least three months after the intended date of departure from the territory of the Member States or, in the case of several visits, after the last intended date of departure from the territory of the Member States. However, in a justified case of emergency, this obligation may be waived;
- it shall contain at least two blank pages;
- it shall have been issued within the previous 10 years.
- The following biometric identifiers of the applicant shall be collected:
- a photograph (according to this sample), scanned or taken at the time of application, and
- 10 fingerprints taken flat and collected digitally.
Where fingerprints as part of an earlier application were collected for the first time less than 59 months before the date of the new application, they shall be copied to the subsequent application. If at the time when the application is lodged, it cannot be immediately confirmed that the fingerprints were collected within the period of 59 months, the applicant may request that they be collected.
The following applicants shall be exempt from the requirement to give fingerprints:
- children under the age of 12;
- persons for whom fingerprinting is physically impossible. If the fingerprinting of fewer than 10 fingers is possible, the maximum number of fingerprints shall be taken. However, should the impossibility be temporary, the applicant shall be required to give the fingerprints at the following application;
- heads of State or government and members of a national government with accompanying spouses, and the members of their official delegation when they are invited by Schengen Member States’ governments or by international organizations for an official purpose;
- sovereigns and other senior members of a royal family when they are invited by Schengen Member States’ governments or by international organizations for an official purpose.
However, where there is reasonable doubt regarding the identity of the applicant, the visa authority of the Republic of Lithuania shall collect fingerprints within the period of 59 months.
- valid medical insurance, the insurance sum of which is at least 30 thousand euros confirming the document;
- a visa fee must be paid.
*Please be aware that invitation filled via (MIGRIS) is free of charge!
*Clients are solely responsible for the applications they submit. Any false documents or other misrepresentation of information in support of their application will have a direct bearing on the judgment of their application by the Consular officer.
B. ADDITIONAL DOCUMENTS TO BE SUBMITTED RELATING TO THE PURPOSE OF THE JOURNEY
I. Supporting documents to be submitted by all applicants:
- Proof of residence in Uzbekistan;
- Round trip ticket reservation;
- Means of subsistence for 1 day traveling to: Lithuania – 50 EUR (does not apply for minors who are accompanied by adult)
- Original bank account statement for the last 3 months (all applicants);
- Internationally accepted credit card along with most recent credit card statement (all applicants);
- Salary certificate indicating level of salary in last 12 months (if employed);
- Confirmation of employer or educational facility about employment and position (if employed) or student status (if studying);
- Labor history book (if employed);
- Approval of employer or educational facility to take leave (if employed) or holidays (if studying);
- Copy of trade register bulletin or license (if company owner or self-employed);
- Statement of payment of taxes (if company owner or self-employed);
- Pension book (if retired), and/or
- any other proof of financial means (e.g. proof of remittances, property rental contract, original certificate of sponsorship or other legal form of sponsorship if equally accepted by Member State, proof of scholarship or research grant, etc.);
- Confirmed proof of accommodation depending on the purpose of journey for the entire period of stay;
- Proof of family ties in Uzbekistan (original passports of spouse and children, birth certificates of children, proof of marital status, etc.);
- Additional requirements for minors (under 18 years of age):
- Birth certificate of the applicant (in case of child born out of wedlock, statement of registrar’s office confirming the agreement of the father to be entered into the birth certificate);
- Copies of passports of the parents (one passport only in case of single parent or parent with sole parental custody – in the latter case, proof of sole parental custody must be also submitted);
- Notarized consent of parent or legal guardian if the minor travels alone or with only one of the parents (exceptions will be made to this if the single parent with whom the minor is to travel holds the parental authority alone).
II. Supporting documents to be presented depending on the purpose of travel
a) Transit:
- Proof of legal permission (visa or visa exemption) to enter the country of final destination;
b) Tourism:
- Pre-paid reservation in a hotel or holiday home, or
- Proof of payment for package holiday, or
- other confirmed proof of accommodation
c) Visit to relatives/friends:
- invitation letter, electronically submitted through MIGRIS by inviting person, or number thereof;
- Certificate confirming family relations and copy of the passport of a relative (in case of a visit to relatives);
- a copy of the inviting party’s passport and a copy of the residence permit (for inviting persons who are not EU citizens);
d) Business:
- invitation letter, electronically submitted through MIGRIS by firm or an authority to attend meetings, conferences or events connected with trade, industry or work, or number thereof;
- Entry tickets to fairs, congresses or similar events, or
- Other documents proving business activities or business ties in relation to the Member State;
- Extract of the trade register or license of the inviting firm;
- Reservation in a hotel or a confirmation from the inviting party if the inviting party pays accommodation;
e) Travelling for the purpose of participation cultural or sports events, or education, research vocational training:
- invitation letter, electronically submitted through MIGRIS by organiser of cultural, sports, vocational training, educational or research event, or university;
- Pre-paid reservation in a hotel, or proof of other accommodation for whole period of stay in the Member State (e.g. campus residence reservation);
- Letter of approval from relevant Uzbek authorities in case of group travels, confirming the agreement with the travel of individual members of the group;
f) Medical treatment:
- invitation letter, electronically submitted through MIGRIS inviting clinic;
- Proof of payment for medical treatment, or
- Original certificate of sponsorship validated by local authorities in the Member State of destination (national form) or other legal form of sponsorship, if equally accepted by the Member State;
- Pre-paid reservation in a hotel, or original personalized invitation with notarized signature of the inviting party confirming availability of accommodation;
g) Official delegations:
- Copy of the official invitation from the Member State or destination or an international organization;
- Verbal note from the relevant ministry or authority confirming that the applicant is a member of official delegation travelling to Member State to take part in an event stipulated in the invitation and indicating party that bears the responsibility for costs of the stay.
Since 2023-07-01 TR can be issued and valid 6 month before visa application submission.
Please note that when you are submitting a visa application to the Visa Center, it is necessary to indicate the TR (Tarpininkavimo raštas) code of the issued invitation to visit.
Submitted documents must be prepared in Lithuanian, Russian or English.
A foreigner who has been issued a multiple-entry visa may enter and stay in the Schengen area during the validity of the visa, but not for more than 90 days during any 180 days. If you often visit the Schengen zone, we recommend using the calculator.
FAMILY MEMBERS OF AN EU CITIZEN OR A CITIZEN OF AN EFTA MEMBER STATE
According to the Article 21 of the Treaty on the Functioning of the European Union, every citizen of the Union shall have the right to move and reside freely within the territory of the Member States, subject to the limitations and conditions laid down in the Treaties and by the measures adopted to give them effect. These restrictions and conditions are, among others, set out in Directive 2004/38 / EC on the right of citizens of the Union and their family members to move and reside freely within the territory of the Member States. If applicants meet the status of a family member* of an EU citizen as laid down in the Directive, the visa authority of the Republic of Lithuania will give them every opportunity to obtain the required visa and provide them with the best conditions to obtain it, including**:
- no visa fee;
- visas are issued as soon as possible (the processing of a visa application for more than 15 days can only be exceptional and duly justified), and an appointment should be made on more favorable conditions than for other third-country nationals;
- a limited list of supporting documents (a proof that there is an EU citizen, from whom certain rights are derived, that the visa applicant is a member of the family of such an EU citizen and that the person applying for a visa accompanies the EU citizen in the host Schengen Member State, or joins him or her there).
*family member:
- a spouse or a person with whom an EU citizen has contracted a registered partnership.
- direct descendants of a citizen and/or spouse or person with whom a registered partnership agreement has been concluded, who are under the age of 21, or who are dependents.
- dependent relatives according to the direct upper line of the citizen, spouse or person with whom a registered partnership agreement has been concluded.
The Directive 2004/38/EC applies for those family members who together with EU citizen are traveling (or intending to join him/her) to a Member State other than his/her nationality or already living in such a Member State.
For instance: a citizen of the Republic of Uzbekistan, together with spouse, which is a Polish citizen, are going to Lithuania or intends to meet there.
The rights granted by the Directive are generally not applicable to EU citizens living in the Member State of their nationality, except of:
- Citizens of two EU Member States;
- EU citizens returning to the Member State of their citizenship, who have lived in another Member State;
- EU citizens who used the right of free movement in another Member State, but did not live there, for example: provided services in another Member State.
**The same conditions also apply to family members of a national of an EFTA (European Free Trade Association) Member State.

Photo Specifications
Please read the specifications for photographs carefully before submitting your visa application.
The photo needs to display a full frontal view of the face. The size of the face from the bottom of your chin to the hairline must be between 32mm (1 ¼ inches) and 36mm (1 3/8 inches). Please look directly into the camera with a neutral expression and without smiling.
The facial image must be sharp, clear, and with sufficient contrast. Please avoid photos with reflections or shadows on the face or with red eyes. The background should be white. Reflection from glasses, sunglasses, or tinted glasses is not permitted. The eyes cannot be hidden by the glass frames.
The photo needs to be printed on high-quality paper with at least 600 dpi resolution; the colors must present a natural appearance and skin tone. The photo must not have kinks, scratches or stains on it.
A photograph should betaken according to this sample.

Processing Time
The longest period of delivering documents from visa center to the Consulate and vice versa is two weeks.
Schengen visa applications are usually processed within 15 calendar days from the date of receipt at the Consulate General of the Republic of Lithuania in Almaty. However, in some cases the procedure may take considerably longer. The period for taking a decision on a visa application may be extended up to 45 calendar days in individual cases, notably when further scrutiny of the application is needed.
A Schengen Member State may require that the central authorities of other Member States consult its central authorities when dealing with applications submitted by nationals of specific third countries or a list of specific categories of such nationals.
The Consulate General of Lithuania in Almaty may require additional documentation if considers it necessary, before making a decision on an application.

IMPORTANT! Having a visa does not automatically entitle you to entry. Visa holders must present evidence at the external border that they comply with the entry conditions set out in Article 6 of the Schengen Borders Code.

If you are planning a longer stay (more than 90 days for up to 12 months) in Lithuania, you need to apply for a Long-Stay National Visa D.
National visas are issued for the duration of no more than one (1) year.

Visa fee waiver list
Starting from February 2nd, 2020 in accordance with the Visa Code a fee for processing Schengen visa applications is EUR 80. Children from the age of six years and below the age of 12 years shall pay a Schengen visa fee of EUR 40. The visa fee shall be waived for applicants belonging to one of the following categories:
- children under six years;
- school pupils, students, postgraduate students and accompanying teachers who undertake stays for the purpose of study or educational training;
- researchers, as defined in point (2) of Article 3 of Directive (EU) 2016/801 of the European Parliament and of the Council ( 8 ), travelling for the purpose of carrying out scientific research or participating in a scientific seminar or conference;
- representatives of non-profit organisations aged 25 years or less participating in seminars; conferences, sports, cultural or educational events organised by non-profit organisations;
- cases provided for in Article 16, Part 5 of the Visa Code, when applications are submitted by foreigners whose countries of citizenship do not apply the visa regime to citizens of the Republic of Lithuania or whose countries of citizenship apply no less favorable conditions to citizens of the Republic of Lithuania than those provided for in Article 16, Part 5 of the Visa Code.

The consular fees are waived for following categories of citizens of the Russian Federation, as per the chapter №3 article 6 of EC-RF visa facilitation:
- Family members of EU citizen or citizens of the member states of European Free Trade Association – spouses, or the partner with whom the EU citizen has contracted a registered partnership, on the basis of legislation of a Member state, or a direct descendant of the EU citizen who is under age of 21 or is dependent and those of the spouse living in the common household with the EU citizen or the dependent direct relatives of the EU citizen in the ascending line and those of the spouse, or living in the common household with the EU citizen;
- family members of the Republic of Lithuania citizens – spouses or the partner with whom the citizen has contracted a registered partnership, children (adopted children) (further – children) under 18, children under 18 of the spouse or the partner with whom the citizen has contracted a registered partnership, if they are not married depend on parents, or close relatives in the ascending line who are dependent no lees than 1 year and can not be supported by other family members living in the foreign state;
- persons who are going to the Republic of Lithuania to take part in the official events organized by President, Saeima, Government or ministry of the Republic of Lithuania;
- persons who have presented documents proving their travel on to visit burial grounds of a close relatives which is located in the Republic of Lithuania (2 times a year);
- persons who have proved the origin of Lithuania with relevant documents or certificate of the origin of Lithuania issued by consular post in accordance with the procedure established by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Lithuania;
- persons who has the right for the citizenship of the Republic of Lithuania and proved it with the relevant documents.

VFS SERVICE FEE
Apart from the visa fee, VFS service charge of the equivalent of 40 EUR inclusive of VAT per application will be levied for applicants applying at the Visa Application Centre (children under 6 years exempt from VFS fees). This is applicable for all categories of visa applications.

Documents Required
List of supporting documents to be submitted for National visa by applicants in the Republic of Uzbekistan. The supporting documents in the languages other than Lithuanian, English or Russian have to be presented with the official translation to Lithuanian, English or Russian
Clients who apply for a work visa must provide an extract from the work book from a single portal my.gov.uz.
using the service (Get an extract from the work book). The statement must necessarily have a QR-Code with a pin-code. An extract is required to be submitted, otherwise the acceptance of documents will be refused.- General requirements:

A completed and signed application form for National visa. An application is to be completed online at https://visa.vrm.lt/epm.

A valid travel document satisfying the following criteria:
- its validity period being at least three months longer than the validity period of the requested visa.
- it shall contain at least two blank pages;
- it shall have been issued within the previous 10 years.
- One color photo of the person
- Actual (made no earlier than 6 months ago), size - 3.5 x 4.5 cm, printed on photo paper
- The face must occupy 70-80 % of the area, the face from the chin to the upper head should occupy 31-36 mm
- The background is white and monochrome
- The person in the photo must be without sunglasses
- The person in the photo must be free of headwear or other items that cover the head except for the obligatory religious headwear.
- Glasses cannot have darkened lenses
- The picture cannot have any lighting effect
- Eyewear should not cover eyes
- The mouth in the picture must be completely closed.
- Document proving Travel medical insurance
Travel medical insurance shall cover any expenses, which might arise in connection with repatriation for medical reasons, urgent medical attention and/or emergency hospital treatment or death, during their stay in the Republic of Lithuania. The insurance shall be valid throughout the territory of the Member States and cover the entire period of the person’s stay. The minimum coverage shall be EUR 30 000. (insurance is accepted only in print)
All documents required for applying for a visa must be in a copy (be sure to have the original with you).
Important! For drivers, to submit documents, confirmation from the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan on the status of a driver's license is required.

A student entering the Republic of Lithuania to study under a student exchange program drawn up by an international higher school or a higher school registered and operating in the Republic of Lithuania and a foreign higher school:

- Proof of financial means (e.g., a bank account statement) and (or) receives a regular income (e.g., a scholarship confirming document):
- to live in the Republic of Lithuania (sufficient means of subsistence equal to 0.5 of the minimum monthly wage per month)
- to return to the country of his or her origin or a foreign country to which the alien has the right to depart (sufficient amount of funds required to return equals to 1 minimum monthly wage).
- A student admitted into a registered and functioning higher education establishment of the Republic of Lithuania:
- Mediation letter electronically submitted through (EPIS) https://epis.vrm.lt by the Lithuanian educational institution
- Proof of financial means (e.g., a bank account statement) and (or) a regular income (e.g., a scholarship confirming document)
- to live in the Republic of Lithuania (sufficient means of subsistence equal to 0.5 of the minimum monthly wage per month)
- to return to the country of his or her origin or a foreign country to which the alien has the right to depart (sufficient amount of funds required to return equals to 1 minimum monthly wage).
- A person who arrives to the Republic of Lithuania to work as a teacher or conduct scientific researches and (or) experimental (social, cultural) development work as a researcher, having a labor contract or author’s contract signed with a science and research institution registered in the Republic of Lithuania, or a family member accompanying such a person:
- Mediation letter electronically submitted through (EPIS) https://epis.vrm.lt by the legal entity
- A labor contract or author’s contract signed with a science and research institution registered in the Republic of Lithuania
- A family member accompanying such a person: documents proving that he or she is indeed a member of the alien’s family
- Proof of financial means (e.g., a bank account statement) and (or) a regular income (e.g., labor contract or author’s contract):
- to live in the Republic of Lithuania (sufficient means of subsistence equal to 1 minimum monthly wage per month for an adult alien and 0.5 of the minimum monthly wage per month for a minor alien);

- A person who is a permanent employee of a company established in a foreign country that is not a Member State of the European Union or the European Free Trade Association (hereinafter referred to as the “sending company”), sent by the company as a specialist with the required professional qualification to work temporarily at a company located in the Republic of Lithuania under a contract for provision of services or performance of work signed between these two companies:

- A contract for provision of services or performance of work signed between the sending company and the company located in the Republic of Lithuania. In addition to the essential terms and conditions, the contract must contain terms and conditions ensuring statutory guarantees for dispatched employees, separately specifying the wage rate to be paid during the employee’s business trip to the Republic of Lithuania and the employee’s working hours. If the contract was not originally made in the Lithuanian language, it must be submitted together with a translation to the Lithuanian language certified by a translator’s signature
- A copy of the sending company’s registration certificate or extract from a foreign state register approved in accordance with the procedure established by legal acts. The document must be legalized or apostatized in accordance with the procedure established by legal acts, except in cases where, according to the current legislation of the Republic of Lithuania, international treaties and legislative acts of the European Union, the document should not be legalized or apostatized and accompanied by a translation to the Lithuanian language certified by a translator’s signature
- A copy of the alien’s labor contract signed with the sending company and approved in accordance with the procedure established by legal acts, accompanied by a translation to the Lithuanian language certified by a translator’s signature
- A document issued by a competent authority of a foreign state, which confirms that at least in the last 3 months the alien has been and during the period of his or her business trip to the Republic of Lithuania shall remain insured under a social insurance program of that foreign state. The document must be legalized or apostatized in accordance with the procedure established by legal acts, except in cases where, according to the current legislation of the Republic of Lithuania, international treaties and legislative acts of the European Union, the document should not be legalized or apostatized and accompanied by a translation to the Lithuanian language certified by a translator’s signature
- A copy of a document certifying the alien’s qualification approved in accordance with the procedure established by legal acts. The document must be legalized or apostatized in accordance with the procedure established by legal acts, except in cases where, according to the current legislation of the Republic of Lithuania, international treaties and legislative acts of the European Union, the document should not be legalized or apostatized and accompanied by a translation to the Lithuanian language certified by a translator’s signature:
- if the alien’s profession is not regulated in the Republic of Lithuania but requires a higher education, the alien must submit a recommendation of the Centre for Quality Assessment in Higher Education regarding the assessment of foreign qualifications (based on this recommendation, the Visa Office may request from the alien to submit a resolution of the Centre for Quality Assessment in Higher Education on the academic recognition of foreign qualifications (Decree of the Government of the Republic of Lithuania No. 212 of 29 February 2012 “On approval of the procedure for recognition of education and qualifications related to higher education and acquired under educational programs of foreign state and international organizations”)
- if the alien’s profession is regulated in the Republic of Lithuania but requires a higher education, the alien must submit a decision of a competent authority on the recognition of professional qualifications (Decree of the Government of the Republic of Lithuania No. 1069 of 14 September 2011 “On recognition of regulated professional qualifications of third-country nationals”)
- A letter from a territorial division of the State Labor Inspectorate at the dispatched employee’s work location certifying that the prescribed notification about the dispatched employee has been submitted and registered by the Minister of Social Security and Labor of the Republic of Lithuania
- Proof of financial means (e.g., a bank account statement) and (or) a regular income (e.g., a sports contract):
- to live in the Republic of Lithuania (sufficient means of subsistence equal to 1 minimum monthly wage per month);
- to return to the country of his or her origin or a foreign country to which the alien has the right to depart (sufficient amount of funds required to return equals to 1 minimum monthly wage).
- A person who arrives to the Republic of Lithuania to engage in legal activities and is a participant of a private legal entity registered in the Register of Legal Entities (hereinafter referred to as the “company”) and established not earlier than 1 year before the date of submission of the alien’s application for national visa, as defined by the Civil Code of the Republic of Lithuania (hereinafter referred to as the “participant”) if the size of the company’s equity capital (in the case of a non-stock company or private limited company – assets) is at least EUR 28,000 of which at least EUR 14,000 are funds or other assets invested by the alien, or is the chief executive of a company established not earlier than 1 year before the date of submission of the alien’s application for national visa, the size of the company’s equity capital (in the case of a non-stock company or private limited company – assets) being at least EUR 28,000, and the purpose of his or her arrival is work at that particular company
- The company establishment (no submission of a document about the registration of a legal entity in the Register of Legal Entities to the Lithuanian Visa Office is required) or acquisition documents
- A document confirming that the size of the company’s equity capital (in the case of a non-stock company or private limited company – assets) is at least EUR 28,000 (e.g. the company’s interim financial report (balance sheet or statement of changes in equity)
- For the company participant:
- a document certifying that he or she is indeed the company participant;

Photo Specifications
Please read the specifications for photographs carefully before submitting your visa application.
The photo needs to display a full frontal view of the face. The size of the face from the bottom of your chin to the hairline must be between 32mm (1 ¼ inches) and 36mm (1 3/8 inches). Please look directly into the camera with a neutral expression and without smiling.
The facial image must be sharp, clear, and with sufficient contrast. Please avoid photos with reflections or shadows on the face or with red eyes. The background should be white. Reflection from glasses, sunglasses, or tinted glasses is not permitted. The eyes cannot be hidden by the glass frames.
The photo needs to be printed on high-quality paper with at least 600 dpi resolution; the colors must present a natural appearance and skin tone. The photo must not have kinks, scratches or stains on it.

Processing Time
The longest period of delivering documents from visa center to the embassy is one week. Embassy shall take a decision on the request to issue a visa within 15 days from the date of the receipt of the application and documents required for issuing the visa. The period for taking a decision on a visa application may be extended up to 60 calendar days in individual cases, notably when further scrutiny of the application is needed.
