Short Stay Visa
If you wish to visit Malta for a short period of time, you must obtain a visa prior to entry if you come from a country with a visa requirement for entering Malta.
Short Stay visas allow the holder to transit through or remain in Malta territory and all other Schengen States for a maximum period of three months (90 days) within a period of six months (180 days) from the entry date into the Schengen Area. Nationals from countries included in the list of countries with the obligation to carry a visa in order to cross external borders must be in possession of this visa. Business Visa

A business visa is required if during any portion of your visit you intend to conduct business or commercial activities, e.g. meetings, conferences, training, trade fairs.

Photo Specifications
General
- The photograph for each visa applicant must be an un-mounted, full face photo, colour photo as described below
- The photograph must have been taken within the last six months.
- Two photographs must be submitted.
Photo Size
- The photo for each visa applicant submitted must measure:
- 35 mm x 45 mm with the head centered in the frame.
- The head (measured from the top of the hair to the bottom of the chin) should measure about 30 mm
Photo Appearance
- The photograph must be a full-face front view in which the visa applicant is facing the camera directly. .
- The face should cover about 70-80 percent of the photo area.
- The photograph MUST be in colour and have only a white or light background. Photos with dark, busy, or patterned backgrounds will not be accepted.
- In general, the applicant's head, including both face and hair, should be shown from the crown of the head to the tip of the chin on top and bottom and from hairline side-to-side. It is preferable that ears be exposed
- Sunglasses or other wear, which detracts from the face, are not acceptable unless required for medical reasons (an eye patch, for example).
- A photograph depicting a person wearing a traditional facemask or veil that does not permit adequate identification is not acceptable.
- Note :Please follow these instructions carefully. If photographs presented do not meet these requirements your application will be considered incomplete.

Tourist Visa

Overview
This visa is solely for the purpose of leisure travel including vacationing, cruising, sightseeing and other recreational activities. If during any portion of your visit to Malta you intend to engage in business, or official duties you must refer to other relevant visa categories.

Overview
If you wish to visit Malta for a short period of time, you must obtain a visa prior to entry if you come from a country with a visa requirement for entering Malta. This visa is issued if you are visiting family or friends in Malta.
The Schengen calculator can be used for calculating the travel days remaining under a Schengen short-stay visa according to the 90-days/180-days rule. You can apply from six months before the intended date of travel.

Applicants for a seaman’s visa must be employed in any capacity on board a vessel, and seeking to enter Malta solely in pursuit of his/her calling as a seaman, with the intention of departing with the vessel or reshipping on other vessel that is bound for a foreign port or place or one coming to the Malta to join a vessel in this country.
