Processing Time
Normal case processing times
Applications for au pair permits will be processed within eight weeks of the application being submitted to the police or a foreign service mission.
If it will take longer, we will notify you by email or SMS.
Which cases take longer to process?
In some cases, we need more information or documentation, or there may be things that we want to look into more closely. We would not do so if we did not believe that it is absolutely necessary in order to make a correct decision in the case.
What can you do to help your case being processed as quickly as possible?
Make sure that your application is completed correctly and in full.
Make sure that you enclose all the necessary documents, see our checklists.
Make sure that your contact information, as well as your host family’s, is up-to-date.
It is also a good idea to make sure that your host family in Norway has power of attorney from you.
