Visit Visa exempted for Zimbabwe passport holder for 90 days stay (Applicable only for Visitor Visa)

- There is an additional service charge of $75.00 (inclusive of TAX) per application in addition to the visa fees for all applicants. This fee must be paid only at the Visa Application Centre
- The Special Delivery facility for the return of Passports is available at a fee of $10 (Inclusive of TAX) per application. This is an optional service and can be paid at the Visa Application Centre.

The maximum period that Zimbabwean Passport holders may be admitted without any Visa fees for Visit visa is 90 days.
- Passport Machine readable and valid for 30 days after the proposed visit Passport must have at least 2 blank pages for endorsement purposes Yellow Fever vaccination certificate, if applicable;
- Proof of financial – 3 months bank statement, certified by bank and not older than 7 days from the time of application.Applicants travelling by air must be in possession of a return or onward ticket;

Overview
Visitor Visa for Less than 90 days will be issued for the following purpose.
- Visits to family or friends and also for tourism purposes
- Business purposes
- Spouse to join a spouse who is in South Africa on a work or study permit
- Children to join parents who are in South Africa on work or study permits
- Fiancée/ fiancé to join his or her partner with the intention of marrying within 90 days
- Study purposes (max stay 3-months)
- Research
- Conferences
- To work in the production of a movie or show (i.e. in the entertainment industry)
- For medical purposes (max stay 3-months)

Visa Fees
- Visa Fee :- USD 24.00 (All Visa Fees are NON REFUNDABLE and they are only payable in USD)
- There is an additional service charge of $75.00 (inclusive of TAX) per application in addition to the visa fees for all applicants. This fee must be paid only at the Visa Application Centre
- The Special Delivery facility for the return of Passports is available at a fee of $10 (Inclusive of TAX) per application. This is an optional service and can be paid at the Visa Application Centre.
- The SMS facility for updates on your application is available at a fee of $2 (Inclusive of TAX) per application. This is an optional service and can be paid at the Visa Application Centre.

Documents Required
- Passport, (valid for at least 30 days after the intended stay/departure date from South Africa; at least Two unused/blank visa pages)
- Two recent (not older than 30 days/1 month) passport size, ( 35mm x 45mm of the picture) photographs
- Fully completed visa application form-11 (DHA-84) – must be completed in black ink and block letters. Only handwritten application forms are accepted in Black INK only.
- Application form-11 (DHA-84) must be signed by the applicant and signature should match the signature on the passport.
- Vaccination certificate, (yellow fever) if applicant will travel through or stay in yellow fever belt. For the latest Yellow Fever Policy please click here
- Proof of financial – 3 months bank statement, certified by bank and not older than 7 days from the time of application. Incomplete applications will not be accepted.
- There must be 7 working days before the proposed flight itinerary;
- No fixed flight arrangements should be made until the visa has been attained.
- All supporting documents should be duly certified by the Police in South African Commissioner or Commissioner of Oaths;
- Invitation letter from host and RSA id copy/Permit and passport copy (certified). The invitation letter from the host in South Africa must be signed;
- Marriage certificate, where applicable (For verification purpose applicant needs to carry the Original Marriage Certificate at the time of submission at VFS center)
- Copies of passport bio-data pages
- Original covering letter signed by the applicant stating the name, passport number of applicant(s) and duration of visit. Letter must have the physical address, as well as contact details of authorized signature’s name, designation and signature (should clearly mention who will bear the expenses of the trip)
- For Minor Dependent Children
- Documents such as Parental Consent Affidavit form for which the link is below, passport copy of parents as well as child + Unabridged Birth Certificate of child must be carried for Parental Consent Affidavit procedure. In case of death of either parents death certificate has to be produced. In case of death of both parents the procedure has to be carried out by legal guardian at Mumbai Consulate and death certificates mandatory of both parents to be produced. In case of divorce the legal divorce documents has to be produced.
- Affidavit less than 3 months old as part of the application. Originals should be kept for their records while travelling Minors who apply for a South African visa at VFS service-point shall be required to submit the attested copy of Parental Consent to South Africa.
- If unabridged birth certificate is in local language than English translation affidavit must be produce along with local language unabridged birth certificate.

- Applicant needs to book the appointment for Harare and Bulawayo through this website only before coming to VFS, without appointment VFS will not process your application.
- Applicant must apply in Person.

Transit Visa

Overview
ALL APPLICANT MUST APPLY IN PERSON
- Proof of financial – 3 months bank statement, certified by bank and not older than 7 days from the time of application.
- Incomplete applications will not be accepted. Please, bear in mind that failing to meet any of the following requirements will also render the application incomplete
- There must be 7 working days before the proposed flight itinerary;
- All supporting documents should be duly certified by the Police in South African Commissioner or Commissioner of Oaths;
- Invitation letter from host in South Africa must be signed;
- No fixed flight arrangements should be made until the visa has been attained.
For minors, certified copy of birth certificate, certified copies of both biological parents’ Passports (main page) and an affidavit signed by both biological parents and certified by a Commissioner of Oaths will be required. Additional documents will be required in case either of the natural parents is unable to sign.
- Payment mode Cash Only
- Please be aware that all decisions regarding the issuance of, number of entries and duration of a visa are at the sole discretion of the embassy, and it is not guaranteed that the embassy will grant your request.
- Please note applicants should be aware of the Processing Time for their chosen category of visa and apply accordingly. Please also note that all processing times are minimum as stated, and in some cases may take longer.

- In the case of air transit, be issued for a period not exceeding 24 hours; and
- In the case of land transit, be issued for a period not exceeding 48 hours.

Applicants who are transiting by air from the following airports are exempt from obtaining a transit visa:
- O R Tambo International
- Cape Town International
- King Shaka
- Lanseria
Those transiting by sea or road to neighbouring countries will still require a transit visa and must lodge their applications at any of the South African Visa Application Centres by booking an appointment here.

Corporate Visa

Overview
A corporate visa allows a corporate entity (for example: a mine group, farmer, etc.) to employ a pre-determined number of skilled/semi-skilled/ unskilled workers. A corporate visa is issued for a period not exceeding three years.

- A radiological report completed on doctor’s letter head, Radiological Report issued by a registered radiologist on letterhead certifying that the applicant has been examined by him or her with regard to active pulmonary TB signs. Report not older than 6 months at time of submission. Not applicable to under 12 years and pregnant women.
- Marriage certificate or in the case of a foreign spousal relationship, proof of official recognition thereof issued by the authorities of the country concerned if available
- The affidavit where a spousal relationship to a South African citizen or resident is applicable, as well as documentation proving cohabitation and the extent to which the related financial responsibilities are shared by the parties and setting out the particulars of children in the spousal relationship

Retired Persons Visa

Overview
Retired persons’ permits may be issued to persons who wish to retire in South Africa, provided that such persons comply with the financial requirements provided for in the Immigration Act, 2002 (Act No. 13 of 2002) and its Regulations.

- Application for DHA-1738 completed in full with BLACK ink and signed by applicant. Only handwritten application forms are accepted in Black INK only.
- A valid passport which expires in no less than 30 days after expiry of the intended date of departure (at least Two unused/blank visa pages)
- Two passport size coloured photographs (35X45mm)
- Original covering letter signed by the applicant (should clearly mention the purpose of visit)
- Proof of sufficient financial means in the form of recently bank certified statements for the last three months. Last date on the statement/Bank stamp date should not be older than 7 days when submitting.
- Vaccination certificate, (yellow fever) if applicant will travel through or stay in yellow fever belt. For the latest Yellow Fever Policy please click here
- A medical report completed on doctor’s letter head, Medical Report issued by registered medical practioner on letterhead with regard to applicant's general state of health. Report not older than 3 months at time of submission. All Medical and radiological reports must be supported with separate letter from doctor confirming that the reports have been issued based on personal examination by said doctor.
- Marriage certificate or in the case of a foreign spousal relationship, proof of official recognition thereof issued by the authorities of the country concerned if available
- The affidavit where a spousal relationship to a South African citizen or resident is applicable, as well as documentation proving cohabitation and the extent to which the related financial responsibilities are shared by the parties and setting out the particulars of children in the spousal relationship
- Divorce decree, where applicable
- Court order granting full or specific parental responsibilities and rights, where applicable
- Death certificate, in respect of late spouse, where applicable
- Legal separation order, where applicable
- Police clearance certificates in respect of applicants 18 years and older, in respect of all countries where person resided one year or longer since having attained the age of 18.
- The minimum monthly payment to a foreigner from a pension fund or an irrevocable retirement annuity or a net worth or a combination of assets realizing $2500 per month or the amount determined from time to time by the Minister by notice in the Gazette.

Exchange Visa

Overview
Exchange Visas may be issued to foreigners who are not older than 25 years of age and wish to participate in cultural, economic or social exchange programs administered by an organ of the State or a public higher educational institution in conjunction with an organ of a foreign state.
The validity period of an exchange permit depends on the length of the program for which it is issued and usually does not exceed 12 months. Exchange permits cannot be renewed or extended. Should you successfully apply for an exchange permit, you will not qualify for a temporary residence permit until you have lived outside the Republic of South Africa for at least 12 months.

- Marriage certificate or in the case of a foreign spousal relationship, proof of official recognition thereof issued by the authorities of the country concerned if available
- The affidavit where a spousal relationship to a South African citizen or resident is applicable, as well as documentation proving cohabitation and the extent to which the related financial responsibilities are shared by the parties and setting out the particulars of children in the spousal relationship
- Divorce decree, where applicable
- Court order granting full or specific parental responsibilities and rights, where applicable
- Death certificate, in respect of late spouse, where applicable

- A letter from the Department of Basic Education, or Higher Education and Training, or the learning institution in the Republic confirming that it is responsible for organizing or administering the existence of the program me, outlining the activities, terms and conditions and duration thereof; and accepting full responsibility for the student whilst he or she is in the South Africa
- A letter from the foreign state institution or learning institution of the foreign state confirming the particulars of the applicant, the applicant's enrolment with a learning institution abroad, and the date on which the program me
In the case of a program me of cultural, economic or social exchange, organized or administered by an organ of state or a learning institution, in conjunction with a learning institution or a foreign state institution:
- Proof of a valid return air ticket or written undertaking by the organ of state, learning institution or employer accepting responsibility for the return or deportation costs of the applicant, as the may be

- The applicant has qualifications or proven skills and experience in line with the job offer
- The salary and benefits of the applicant are not inferior to the average salary and benefits of citizens or employees occupying similar positions in the Republic
- A contract of employment stipulating the conditions of employment and signed by both the employer and the applicant in line with the Labour standards in the Republic and is made conditional upon the general work visa being approved
- Proof of qualifications evaluated by SAQA and translated by a sworn translator into one of the official languages of the Republic
- Full particulars of the employer, including, where applicable, proof of registration of the business with the Commission on Intellectual Property and Companies (CIPC)
- An undertaking by the employer to inform the Director-General should the applicant not comply with the provisions of the Act, or conditions of the visa
- An undertaking by the employer to inform the Director-General upon the employee no longer being in the employ of such employer or when he or she is employed in a different capacity or role

Study Visa

Overview
If you are a student and wish to study in South Africa you can apply for a study visa by completing Form BI-1738.
Visas issued for studies at higher education and training institution shall be issued for duration of the course, but not exceeding four years;
Visas issued for studies at school shall be valid for the duration of the studies; provided that the duration for studies at the primary school shall not exceed eight years and for secondary school shall not exceed five years.

Application For Study Visa
The following entry requirements - Republic of South Africa.
- No travel arrangements must be made prior to the issuing of a visa.
- No preference will be given to applicants, applying on short notice.
- The requirements are NOT NEGOTIABLE.
- Documents to be submitted that are in any language except English must be a translated by a sworn translator. Original documents must accompany the translations. Original documents will be returned to the applicant.
- Copies of documents must be certified by a sworn commissioner of Oath.
- Applications must be submitted with the requirements list.
Duration And Purpose Of Stay
The period of residence in the RSA will be determined from the applicant’s date of admission to the Republic in accordance with any conditions that may appear on the visa. Applicants must ensure that they request the full duration of their intended stay.
Applicants must ensure that they apply for the correct visa reflecting the true purpose of the stay, as any change in the purpose of stay will not be approved in the RSA .
Warning
Any applicant allowed entry into South Africa due to any misrepresentation, or false declaration on the application form or who sojourns in the Republic in contravention of his/her visa conditions shall be guilty of an offence and liable on conviction to a fine or to imprisonment as an illegal foreigner.
Any applicant who overstays as contemplated in section 50(1) of the Immigration Act shall be informed of his or her undesirability.

Relatives Visa

Overview
As an immediate family member of a South African citizen or permanent resident you may be issued a relative’s visa once the prescribed financial assurance as contemplated in the Immigration Act, 2002 (Act No. 13 of 2002) have been complied with. Relative’s visas are issued for a maximum period of two years at a time. For a spouse and/or a dependent child of a South African citizen or permanent resident the permit is issued free of charge, whilst there is a fee for other relatives wishing to join their family members in South Africa.

- An undertaking from the employer that -
- He foreigner shall only be employed in the specific position for which the visa has been issued
- The foreigner will, at all times, comply with the provisions of the Act and conditions of his or her visa and undertakes to immediately notify the Director-General if the employee refuses to comply with the provisions of the Act or conditions of the visa;
- A plan is developed for the transfer of skills to a South African citizen or permanent
- An undertaking from the branch, subsidiary or an affiliate in South Africa to reimburse the Department any costs incurred in relation to the deportation of the holder of an intra-company transfer work visa and any of his or her family members

- A medical report completed on doctor’s letter head, Medical Report issued by registered medical practioner on letterhead with regard to applicant's general state of health. Report not older than 6 months at time of submission. All Medical and radiological reports must be supported with separate letter from doctor confirming that the reports have been issued based on personal examination by said doctor.
- Marriage certificate or in the case of a foreign spousal relationship, proof of official recognition thereof issued by the authorities of the country concerned if available
- The affidavit where a spousal relationship to a South African citizen or resident is applicable, as well as documentation proving cohabitation and the extent to which the related financial responsibilities are shared by the parties and setting out the particulars of children in the spousal relationship
- Divorce decree, where applicable
- Court order granting full or specific parental responsibilities and rights, where applicable
- Death certificate, in respect of late spouse, where applicable
- Written consent from both parents and court order granting full parental responsibilities and rights parent, where applicable
- Proof of legal adoption where applicable
- Legal separation order, where applicable
- Police clearance certificates in respect of applicants 18 years and older, in respect of all countries where person resided one year or longer since having attained the age of 18.
- A letter from the applicant's registered medical practitioner or medical institution within the Republic, confirming -
- That space is available at the medical institution
- The estimated costs of the treatment
- Whether or not the disease or ailment is treatable or curable
- The treatment schedule
- The period of intended treatment in the Republic
- The details of, and confirmation by, the person or institution responsible for the medical expenses and hospital fees: Provided that in a case where the applicant's medical scheme or employer is not liable for expenses incurred, proof of financial means to cover medical costs
- The particulars of the persons accompanying the applicant
- A valid return air flight ticket, where applicable

- Visa Fee :- USD 24.00 (All Visa Fees are NON REFUNDABLE and they are only payable in USD)
- There is an additional service charge of $75.00 (inclusive of TAX) per application in addition to the visa fees for all applicants. This fee must be paid only at the Visa Application Centre

Documents Required
- Passport, (valid for at least 30 days after the intended stay/departure date from South Africa; at least Two unused/blank visa pages)
- Fully completed visa application Form – 8 (DHA-1738) and DHA-84 must be completed in black ink and block letters.Only handwritten application forms are accepted in Black INK only.
- Certified birth certificate copy of the applicant
- Contract of Employment for the Host parent/Spouse
- Proof of funds (Last 03 month’s bank statement signed and stamped by the bank with a balance of South African Currency R 3000 or equivalent.Last date on the statement/Bank stamp date should not be older than 7 days when submitting.
- Invitation letter from the host in South Africa. The letter must include physical/street address, as well as contact details of the host with name, designation and signature; and attested by commissioner of OATHS or south African police(south Africa)
- Copy of the host’s ID or copy of residential status, (permanent residence permit or work permit and passport bio-data pages and Host ID copy attested by commissioner of OATHS or South African Police (South Africa)
- Residence proof of host form south Africa(attested)

- Police clearance certificates in respect of applicants 18 years and older, in respect of all countries where person resided one year or longer since having attained the age of 18 Proof of Accommodation, eg undertaking from Host, copies of RSA Identification Document, copy of residence permit in RSA, copy of passport, utility bill (certified copies)
- Original covering letter signed by the applicant stating the name, passport number of applicant(s) and duration of visit. Letter must have the physical address, as well as contact details of authorized signature’s name, designation and signature (should clearly mention who will bear the expenses of the trip)
- Minor child applying for dependent visa where in inviter parent is in South Africa then they have to visit either Department of Home Affairs office or South African Police station in South Africa to get the Parental Consent Affidavit form attested. Once attestation is done they have to send clear scan attested copy to the parent available in Zimbabwe. During the time of submission at VFS that copy should be attached as part of the minor child application (mandatory). Once submission is done the other parent available in India does not need to visit Consulate to carry out the procedure.
- Minors who apply for a South African visa at VFS service-point shall be required to submit the attested copy of Parental Consent Affidavit less than 4 months old as part of the application.
- If minor child accompanied by someone other than a parent and both parent present in Zimbabwe then for Parental Consent Affidavit.
- If unabridged birth certificate is in local language than English translation affidavit must be produce along with local language unabridged birth certificate.

Overview
ALL APPLICANT MUST APPLY IN PERSON
- Proof of financial – 3 months bank statement, certified by bank and not older than 7 days from the time of application.
- Incomplete applications will not be accepted. Please, bear in mind that failing to meet any of the following requirements will also render the application incomplete
- There must be 7 working days before the proposed flight itinerary;
- All supporting documents should be duly certified by the Police in South African Commissioner or Commissioner of Oaths;
- Invitation letter from host in South Africa must be signed;
- For minors, certified copy of birth certificate, certified copies of both biological parents’ Passports (main page) and an affidavit signed by both biological parents and certified by a Commissioner of Oaths will be required. Additional documents will be required in case either of the natural parents is unable to sign.
- No fixed flight arrangements should be made until the visa has been attained.
- Payment mode Cash Only
