Overview

This visa is provided for those who are visiting their family or relatives in Sweden. The referent has to fill out an invitation form called appendix E.

The applicable visa fee is as per the current exchange rate. It is subject to change. All the fees are non-refundable.

Photo Specifications

Applicants, submit your Application form with the new photo format, as explained below:

General

• The photo must fulfill the norm specified by the ICAO (International Civil Aviation Organization).

  • Use coloured photo with plain white background.
  • The photo must be no more than 6-months old (not used in any visas).
  • Not tilted picture (portrait style) showing both edges of face clearly (hair behind ears).
  • Close up of the head and top of the shoulders so that the face takes up 70–90% of the photograph.
  • Photo in sharp focus and clear.

Attaching the Photo to the Application form

• Glue one photograph on the designated space of the application form.

Processing Time

If you apply in VFS Global Center, the processing time is 15 days once the application arrives to Sweden Embassy depending on the total number of

applications per day and it may take longer in some cases.

For non-Filipino applicants the processing time might take some longer, but a decision will still be made within 15 days from submitting the application. The reason for the extended processing time is that we cannot issue visas to citizens of certain countries before we have consulted other Schengen member states. This process takes up to seven days.

Overview

When you apply for a visa, the application will be forwarded to the SwedenEmbassy in Bangkok for processing. All cases are considered individually to see if the conditions for granting a visa are fulfilled

Only seamen who are nationals from a country which is required to have a valid visa to enter the Schengen space need to apply for a seamen transit visa and if they intend to join a ship that is (or will be) in a Schengen port, land with the aim of join another ship that is (or will arrive) in a Schengen port, or land due to sickness, repatriation, holiday and so on.

Completing the form electronically reduces counter waiting time and helps avoid errors caused by illegible handwriting.

Applicants who arrive without a form completed electronically will still be accepted with a completed handwritten form; however, they should expect additional processing time at Visa Application Centre.

Overview

Tourist visa is granted for those where the intention is to visit Sweden for tourism and sightseeing without having an invitation from a Swedish reference.

• Accredited Travel Insurance

Note: Travel Medical Insurance issued by Russian insurance companies are not accepted for entry into Sweden and travellers must hold a Travel Medical Insurance issued by a company outside Russia and that fulfils the requirements in the Visa Code.
