VISA TYPES
Short Term Visa
If you want to visit Switzerland and you are not a citizen of the EU/EEA, you may need a visa. A visa gives you permission to enter and stay in Switzerland for a short period. It is valid throughout the Schengen area, but you apply to the country that is the main destination for the journey.
Visas can be granted only for such purposes as:
A visa can be granted for between 1 and 90 days. You have to make use of these days within a given time frame of six months at the most (period of validity).
You can submit your application at the earliest 180 days before you planned visit. Apply as far in advance as possible, especially during the peak season. Usually, you get a decision within two weeks or more.
Tourist Visa

This visa is for applicants who intend to travel to Switzerland for holiday and recreation purposes.

All applicants have to ensure they select the correct travel category when booking. Choosing the wrong category will result in the inability to submit your documents

Visa Fees applicable for Tourist, Relatives/Friend, Business, Conference, Sports and Cultural are: -
Visa Fees Schengen visa (age 12 years and above) EUR 90 (5,200 EGP) Children, 6 to 11 years old EUR 45 (2,600 EGP) Children, 0 to 5 years old 0 Schengen visa for nationals of countries with visa facilitation agreement EUR 35 (2,050 EGP) - Albania - Armenia - Azerbaijan - Bosnia-Herzegovina - Cape Verde - Georgia - Macedonia - Moldova - Montenegro - Serbia - Ukraine Schengen visa for Gambians (6400 EGP)
The applicant who submit their applications at visa Application centre should pay the visa fee in Cash or with Credit/ debit card in Egyptian pounds.
Please Note:
- The applicable visa fee in Egyptian pounds is as per the current exchange rate. The same is subject to change without notice.
- The Visa fee & service charges are non-refundable in case the visa is refused.

- Taken against a light background (white or off-white) so that features are distinguishable and contrast against the background
- Clear share quality and with the face in focus.
- Printed on normal photographic paper (camera print).
- Full face, non-smiling (without sunglasses, a hat/cap or other head covering)
- Please stick the Photograph on the Visa Application Form.

Processing Time
Usually, processing time for visa applications is 10 working days (starting from the time when the Embassy or Consulate received the application, not including the transportation time), counting from when all requested documents have been submitted. This period may be extended in specific cases, notably when further scrutiny of the application is required, for example, when an applicant must come to an interview or submit additional documentation requested by the Embassy or Consulate. During certain times of the year, the processing time can be longer due to the high volume of applications. It is recommended to submit your visa application at least two weeks prior to date of travel date and if possible, even earlier ahead of the holiday period.
Please note that the application processing time and decisions on visa applications are the sole prerogative of the Embassy or Consulate. VFS Global has no role to play in these areas of the application process.

Please note: It is required to book a tourist appointment for accompanying individuals, as it is not permitted to apply for a visa as an accompanying person under a medical appointment.

Official trips (participation to a meeting / session / workshop) if the invitation is sent from the United Nations Office or any other International Organizations in Genève or an Embassy / Mission in Genève / Bern

Visa Fees
There are no visa fees for official trips (participation to a meeting / session / workshop) if the invitation is sent from the United Nations Office or any other International Organizations in Genève or an Embassy / Mission in Genève / Bern
VFS Service fees is 1,279 EGP (inclusive of VAT) can be paid in Cash or with Credit / Debit Card.
