Overview
- Visa is valid to visit all the Schengen States
- Only Kuwaiti nationals and nationals of third countries that are legal residents in Kuwait can apply for a visa at the Application Center in Kuwait.
- Visa applicants are requested to appear in person at the time of submission. The Embassy of Switzerland in Qatar reserves the right to invite the applicant to a personal interview.
- Incomplete, unclear or unsigned applications will not be accepted and the visa application can only be processed upon receipt of ALL documents required by the embassy (see List of required documents below).
- Visa fees are non-refundable and have to be paid only in cash at the time of application
- Applications for a visa has to be received by the Embassy of Switzerland in Qatar at least three (3) weeks prior to the beginning of the journey as the approval can take up to
15 days. If the visit involves two or more Schengen countries, the Embassy responsible for the issuance of the visa will be:
- The Embassy of the country in which the traveler is going to stay the longest.
- If the traveler is to stay the same time in different Schengen countries, the Embassy of the country of first stay.

If your payment transaction is successful but you did not receive Appointment confirmation, please do not attempt to create another transaction and contact us.
Kindly have Confirmation printed and submit the same upon submission of your application.

- Original application form duly completed, dated and signed. Note: For children under 18 years old, both parents must sign the application/declaration form. Passport copies of the father and mother have to be attached.

Important note: It is important that the submitted photograph on your application form matches the image taken when your biometric information is being enrolled at the Visa Application Center.
To avoid inconvenience at the border control, please ensure that you submit a photograph which is not photoshopped/edited and present yourself during the biometric enrolment with less or subtle make-up which resembles the true likeness of you when you travel.
- Travel Insurance(copy): Applicants for a visa shall prove that they are in possession of adequate and valid travel medical insurance to cover any expenses which might arise in
connection with repatriation for medical reasons, urgent medical attention and/or emergency hospital treatment or death, during their stay(s) on the territory of the Member
States. The insurance shall be valid throughout the territory of the Member States and cover the entire period of the person’s intended stay or transit. The minimum coverage
shall be EUR 30,000.
** Travel health insurance has to be a local insurance and the Insurance Certificate should be signed and stamped by the Insurance Company showing the dates, area of coverage and amount of coverage. - Flight ticket: Please supply a copy of the electronic flight tickets (E-Ticket).
- Hotel reservation (copy): Confirmed hotel reservation covering the entire duration of the stay, or recent proof of owning a house/flat in Switzerland.
- Original up-to-date Bank statement (required for non-Kuwaiti only): for the last six months.
- Important reminder:
- Must be printed on original letterhead of the issuing bank or stamped/attested by bank.
- For non-Kuwaiti nationals
- Original Letter of your employer/sponsor duly stamped and signed, confirming your employment, position and salary.
- Residency permit/ID card (copy): The end of validity shall be at least 3 months after the intended return date.
- Trade license (copy)
- For Household Employees (Only legal residents of Kuwait with existing residency - valid for 3 months after the intended return date, and has completed
at least 1 year with the same sponsor).
- Liability Declaration (duly filled/completed with Sponsor’s Signature).
- Copy of Sponsor’s passport and valid Schengen visa.
- Sponsor must personally accompany the applicant to the visa appointment at VFSGlobal
For students/school age children:
current school/university registration confirming that the student is exempted from attending lectures during the requesting travel period, with an original signature
For applicants below 18 years old – If the minor is travelling with only 1 parent or without parents/travelling with friends or relatives: please download the parental authorization and both parents must sign the document personally at the Visa Application Center.

Photo Specifications
- Photos must be no more than 6 months old
- 45–50mm high and 35–40mm wide
- Must show head and top of shoulders close up, so that the face occupies
70% to 80% of the photo area - Must be perfectly on focus
- Must be printed on high-quality paper with high resolution and
should not present ink stains or folds - Photograph cannot be manipulated, for example, by removing spots
or softening lines.
- Background should be white or light blue
- Luminosity shall be uniform, without shades, flash reflections or red eye effect
- Colors shall be natural
- Eyes shall be open and perfectly visible – with no hair across them
- Face shall be straight and looking at the camera. You shall not look over
one shoulder and your head shall not be tilted (portrait style) - Must show clearly both sides of your face
The photograph must:
- Show you looking directly at the camera
- Show natural skin tones
- Have appropriate brightness and contrast, and natural colors
- Be printed on high resolution photographic paper
If you wear glasses, they must show your eyes clearly:- No flash reflection off the lenses.
- No dark tinted lenses
- Lighter framed glasses are preferable
- Frame should not cover any part of your eyes
- Head coverings are not permitted except for religious reasons:
- in which case, facial features from bottom of chin to top of forehead and
both edges of your face must be clearly shown
- in which case, facial features from bottom of chin to top of forehead and
- One person per photograph (without furniture, toys, objects, or
another person, visible), showing you looking directly at the camera with
a neutral expression and mouth closed.

Processing Time
Usually, processing time for visa applications is 10 working days (starting from the time when the Embassy or Consulate received the application, not including the transportation time), counting from when all requested documents have been submitted. This period may be extended in specific cases, notably when further scrutiny of the application is required, for example, when an applicant must come to an interview or submit additional documentation requested by the Embassy or Consulate. During certain times of the year, the processing time can be longer due to the high volume of applications. It is recommended to submit your visa application at least two weeks prior to date of travel date and if possible, even earlier ahead of the holiday period.
Please note that the application processing time and decisions on visa applications are the sole prerogative of the Embassy or Consulate. VFS Global has no role to play in these areas of the application process.

- Note: The invitation must contain the following: Full name of applicant, passport details, period and duration of stay, reason for business trip, information on who will bear the cost of the stay, and confirmation that the applicant will not work in Switzerland and leave after the end of the trip.

Once application is received by the Visa Application Centre, applications will be sent to the Embassy of Switzerland, in Doha, the assessment is completed by the Embassy, the decision together with the passport & the other relevant documents will be available for collection from the Visa Application Centre, Kuwait.
Visa is valid to visit all the Schengen States. Only Kuwait nationals and nationals of third countries that are legal residents in Kuwait can apply for a visa at the Switzerland Visa Application Centre in Kuwait. Visa applicants are requested to appear in person at the time of submission.
Incomplete, unclear or unsigned applications will not be accepted.
Visa fees are non-refundable and the Visa fees must be paid in cash/knet at the Visa Application Center
If the visit involves two or more Schengen countries, the Embassy responsible for the issuance of the visa will be:
The Embassy of the country in which the traveler is going to stay the longest.

Applicant’s lack of Travel plan will not fall on Embassy priority to process your visa. It is advisable to plan your travel well in advance to avoid any inconvenience

Overview
This type of visa is applicable for those who travel for Medical purposes.
It allows the citizens of Kuwait to travel to Switzerland and stay for a limited period of time of not more than 90 days in a 6 months period from the date of the first entrance into the country.

Overview
Once application is received by the Visa Application Centre, applications will be sent to the Embassy of Switzerland, in Doha, the assessment is completed by the Embassy, the decision together with the passport & the other relevant documents will be available for collection from the Visa Application Centre, Kuwait.
Visa is valid to visit all the Schengen States. Only Kuwait nationals and nationals of third countries that are legal residents in Kuwait can apply for a visa at the Switzerland Visa Application Centre in Kuwait. Visa applicants are requested to appear in person at the time of submission.
Incomplete, unclear or unsigned applications will not be accepted.
Visa fees are non-refundable and the Visa fees must be paid in cash/knet at the Visa Application Center
If the visit involves two or more Schengen countries, the Embassy responsible for the issuance of the visa will be:
The Embassy of the country in which the traveler is going to stay the longest.
If the traveler is to stay the same time in different Schengen countries, the Embassy of the country of first stay.
Applicant’s lack of Travel plan will not fall on Embassy priority to process your visa. It is advisable to plan your travel well in advance to avoid any inconvenience -

To avoid inconvenience at the border control, please ensure that you submit a photograph which is not photoshopped/edited and present yourself during the biometric enrolment with less or subtle make-up which resembles the true likeness of you when you travel.
- Travel Insurance(copy): Applicants for a visa shall prove that they are in possession of adequate and valid travel medical insurance to cover any expenses which might arise in
connection with repatriation for medical reasons, urgent medical attention and/or emergency hospital treatment or death, during their stay(s) on the territory of the Member
States. The insurance shall be valid throughout the territory of the Member States and cover the entire period of the person’s intended stay or transit. The minimum coverage
shall be EUR 30,000.
Travel health insurance has to be a local insurance and the Insurance Certificate should be signed and stamped by the Insurance Company showing the dates, area of coverage and amount of coverage. - Flight ticket: Please supply a copy of the electronic flight tickets (E-Ticket).
- Original up-to-date Bank statement (required for non-Kuwaiti only): for the last six months.
- Important reminder:
- Must be printed on original letterhead of the issuing bank or stamped/attested by bank.
- For non-Kuwaiti nationals
- Original Letter of your employer/sponsor duly stamped and signed, confirming your employment, position and salary.
- Residency permit/ID card (copy): The end of validity shall be at least 3 months after the intended return date.
- Trade license (copy)
- For Household Employees (Only legal residents of Kuwait with existing residency - valid for 3 months after the intended return date and has completed at least 1 year with the same sponsor).
- Liability Declaration (duly filled/completed with Sponsor’s Signature).The sponsor needs to be present at the VAC while signing the liability Declaration.
- Copy of Sponsor’s passport and valid Schengen visa.
- Sponsor must personally accompany the applicant to the visa appointment at VFSGlobal

Important reminder: You may apply as early as 180 days (6 months) before your entry date to Schengen Areas. If you are submitting more than 180 days in advance, the Embassy of Switzerland and Visa Application Center will not accept your application.

Documents Required
You are eligible to apply for a Switzerland visa if either the majority of your total stay is in Switzerland or if the your stay is same in different Schengen Countries, then you need to apply at the Embassy of the first destination.
In accordance with the agreement of 6th November, 1963 between Switzerland and the Principality of Liechtenstein, Swiss entry regulations also apply to applications to enter the Principality of Liechtenstein.
Additional requirements

For applicants under the age of 18 years, both parents must sign the application form and have to join a copy of their signed passports. - Photo : 2 recent passport-size photos of the applicant with white or light blue background.
- Passport (signed original and one copy): The passport’s validity shall extend at least three months after the intended date of departure from the territory of the Schengen Member States or in the case of several visits, after the last intended date of departure from the territory of the Member States. Please supply copies of obtained visas in the past.
- Travel Insurance(copy): Applicants for a visa shall prove that they are in possession of adequate and valid travel medical insurance to cover any expenses which might arise in

- Residency permit / ID card (copy): The end of the validity shall be at least three months prior of the intended date of return to Kuwait from the territory of the Schengen Member States or in the case of several visits, before the last intended date of return from the territory of the Member States.
- Bank statement: Bank statements of the last three months.

- For applicants under the age of 18 years, both parents must sign the application form and have to join a copy of their signed passports.
- The form must be filled either in German, French, Italian or English as Arabic, Chinese, Russian etc. will be not accepted.
Photo:

Other documents
- Attestation from the school/university that will be attended (+ 2 photocopies) including study program.
- Proof of payment of the school fees

- Diploma of already completed studies
- Written commitment to leave Switzerland after the requested stay
- Letter of motivation which must include

- For all of the above mentioned documents, two photocopies have to be supplied as well as the original document.
