  • Identify visa type

    Choose the right visa for your trip

    The first step is to determine which visa type you need, and check whether you’re eligible to apply for it.

    You’ll also need to know the documents that you’ll have to submit along with your application, how long the application might take and fees you’ll have to pay.

    Each application must comply with the guidelines applicable for your visa category.

    If your documents are not in English, you may need to get translations prepared before applying.

  • Begin your application

    Get started with your visa application

    Once you are ready to apply, go to the Immigration New Zealand website to apply for your visa.

    You can download the visa application form, complete and print it ready for submission to the Visa Application Centre.

    There are two ways to submit your application to the Visa Application Centre in the Philippines. Please carefully read the instructions when selecting your option:


    Option 1: Counter application

    You (or your representative) can submit your application in person at the counter of the Visa Application Centre during business hours.


    Option 2: Postal application

    You can submit your application by post to the Visa Application Centre in Manila and Cebu. Applications can be sent by your chosen courier, or you can opt for our Courier Service - which can collect your documents from the comfort of your home or office. If you’d like to upgrade to our Courier service, please enquire during your visit to the Visa Application Centre.

    Please note: New Zealand Post has made some changes to their international courier service. If you are sending documents from New Zealand to the Visa Application Centre in Philippines you must also include the details of the receiver.

    Please be aware, these mandatory contact details have been provided to ensure you fulfil New Zealand Post’s requirements. If you fail to include them, we might not receive your package.


    Passport Handling - Online Application

    Some applicants are required to provide their passport. If you need to provide your passport, you would have been advised of this on the ‘Thank you’ page, when you submitted your online visa application.

    If you are not sure if you need to provide your passport, login to your New Zealand Online Services account, open the application PDF and look at the advice on the last page.

    If you were not asked to provide your passport, you do not need to provide anything else to Immigration New Zealand at this time. Immigration New Zealand will contact you directly if they require your passport or any other information.

  • Pay your fees

    Find out the amount you need to pay

    Once you have made your application, you will need to pay your visa application fee. If you are applying online for your visa, your payment will be made as part of this process. If you download the form to print and bring to the Visa Application Centre, payment can be made at the time of your appointment.

    If you have been asked to submit your passport you’ll need to pay the Visa Application Centre (VAC) passport handling fee

  • Visit a Visa Application Centre

    Submission of application

    You can submit your visa application in person or through a representative at the Visa Application Centre during business hours.

  • Track your application

    Stay informed about the progress of your application

    You will receive your decision via email directly from Immigration New Zealand. If you can’t access email easily, or would like more detailed tracking information, you may also be able to get updates by SMS sent directly to your phone. Check whether this service is available at the Visa Application Centre you are visiting.

    You can also track your visa application status online.  Use the Reference Number present on the invoice/receipt issued by the Visa Application Centre along with your last name to access this service.

  • Collect your documents

    Receive your documents from the Visa Application Centre

    For walk-in applications we can have your original passport/s returned to you after we scan them. For applications submitted through courier your documents will only be returned via courier.

    For some cases you may collect your documents in person: bring the receipt issued by the Visa Application Centre and a form of Government identification. If permitted you may be able to send a representative to collect your documents; they will need to present a letter of authorisation signed by you, bring the receipt issued to you by the Visa Application Centre and their Government identification.

    You’ll need to provide the payment receipt in order to collect your documents. If you do not have the original payment receipt with you, you’ll need to furnish a statement letter along with your ID proof (copy).
