SHORT TERM VISA

Overview
Depending on the purpose of your travel to Georgia, there are different categories of visas that will apply to the occasion. Whether you are planning to go on a visit, study or work and reside there permanently, you will have to apply for a different Georgian Visa, accordingly. Depending on the purpose of travelling you may be granted a visa with the right of stay for a short-term period, long-term period or with the right for transiting the territory of Georgia. The authorized body for issuing, extending, and terminating Georgian visas is Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Georgia/Embassy of Georgia in India.
Short-term visa may be issued according to the number of days indicated in a visa application but for not more than 30 calendar days. And only if you have visited Georgia at least once during the previous year, and there are grounds for requesting short-term visa you may be granted with a short-term multiple-entry visa for a maximum of five years. Besides, the total period of an alien’s entry and stay in Georgia in any 180-day period shall not exceed 90 calendar days.
Long-term visa may be issued with the right of multiple entries to Georgia for 90 calendar days or one year period of validity and stay.

Note: Once the application is submitted in VFS Centre and payment receipt is generated, applicant needs to upload scanned payment receipt to Georgian online portal. https://www.geoconsul.gov.ge/

The applicable visa fee in INR is as per the current exchange rate. The same is subject to change without notice.
The Visa fee is non-refundable.

For Applicants applying from Bangladesh
- The acceptable method of payment for Visa Fees is by TT (Telegraphic transfer) US Dollars (USD). Applicants can approach Bank of convenience, and should follow the below process;
- Fill up a deposit slip & TM form with information of account details Embassy of Georgia 409000600421 RBL BANK with the below Swift Code
RATNINBBXXX - Need to carry and provide Passport copy
- Carry print of the visa fee detail stated in the website
Applicant need to go to the VFS center with the proof of visa fee payment.
- The visa fee is non-refundable.
- There is a service charge of BDT 4492/-
- The applicable visa fee is USD20.
For Applicants applying from Sri Lanka
- The visa fee is non-refundable.

New mandatory requirement regarding Health and Accident Insurance for (Nepalese / Bangladeshi / Sri Lankan) applicants applying for Tourist visas to Georgia.
All Tourist visa applicants holding Nepal / Bangladesh / Sri Lanka passports will be required to submit a valid health and accident insurance policy that complies with the following conditions:
- The insurance policy may be issued by either a Georgian or a foreign insurance company.
- The minimum coverage amount must be no less than 30,000 GEL.
The insurance policy must clearly indicate the following mandatory information:
- Full names of the parties to the insurance contract
- Covered territory
- Subject matter of the insurance
- Validity period, which must fully cover the applicant’s stay in Georgia, including arrival and departure dates
- Amount of the insurance sum and the amount of the premium, including the place and terms of payment

Processing Time
The Processing Time for the application at the Embassy of Georgia is minimum 10 working days
The Processing Time for Student application at the Embassy of Georgia is minimum 2 months
Please be advised that due to the above mentioned estimated Processing Time, we are not able to guarantee the return of passports by specific dates for travel.

Note – 04 months valid Travel and Health insurance required for all Long-Term visa categories.
Document-Specific Checks (to be completed before submission)
- Visa Application Form: Applicant’s picture must be clear and meet ICAO standards.
- University Invitation Letter: Must not be older than 3 months.
- Rector’s Order: Mandatory for all applications—please ensure it is attached.
- MEA Attestation: Should not be older than 6 months.
- Sponsorship Letter: Name on the letter must exactly match the name on the bank statement and other supportisve documents. Sponsor's ID number (Adhar or Passport number) must be mentioned on sponsorship letter.
- Name Mismatches:
o If the name on the NEET scorecard and education documents differs, a Same Name Affidavit with MEA attestation is required.
oIf the applicant’s or parents’ name differs from what is mentioned on the passport, a Same Name Affidavit with MEA attestation is required. - Accommodation Letter: Must include cadastral code, address, and duration of stay.
oIf accommodation is in a rented apartment, a notarized agreement is required. - Insurance Policy: Must be a student policy covering the territory of Georgia.

A document drawn up in another foreign language shall be submitted together with the duly certified (notarized) Georgian or English translation.
To issue a long-term Georgian visa, apostilled or legalized originals or copies of documents (if the documents need to be legalized or apostilled) shall be submitted to a visa issuing authority.
