Visa Information

Overview

A tourist visa is issued to the applicant who wish to visit Malaysia for Holiday, visiting family members etc.

A tourist visa is valid for 3 or 6 months depending on the embassy or consulate discretion, tourist visa allows visitors to stay for a maximum of 30 days, however African passport holders can stay for a maximum of 14 days.

Application forms MUST BE TYPED, NO handwritten forms, incomplete and unsigned applications will be accepted.

It is advisable to plan your travel well in advance to avoid any inconvenience.

1. Two (2) copy of the visa application form to be filled (MUST BE TYPED) and signed by the applicant
2. Two (2) passport size photographs (white background)
3. Original passport with at least 6 months validity from date of travel, copy of passport, and copy of Emirates ID from applicants. (for each applicant)
4. Residence visa should be valid till the date of return and copy of residence visa page
5. Latest (3 months) updated bank statement.
6. Letter of “No Objection” addressed to Embassy or Consulate General of Malaysia from Company / Sponsor (for applicants). Applicants who are self-employed / operating own business may produce a copy of valid trade license.
7. Copy of Hotel and round trip Flight reservation.

8. If staying at relatives / friends’ house in Malaysia you will require to provide the following documents:

   1. Letter of Invitation to stay (addressed to the Embassy or Consulate General of Malaysia) from relative / friend / sponsor of the Applicant indicating full address in Malaysia – MUST BE TYPED
   2. Passport copy, copy of Malaysian Visa Page and Malaysian ID

Photo Specifications

1. Two (2) passport size photographs
2. The photograph must be in colour.
3. It should have a white background only.
4. The photograph should be a recent one not more than 3 months old.
5. Scanned and color photocopies would not be accepted.

The processing time of each application is 3 to 5 working days. However visa applicants should bear in mind that each application is subject to an individual assessment and processing time may vary depending on the decision of the Malaysian Embassy or Consulate.

A Business Visa is issued to the applicant who wish to visit Malaysia to conduct the business meeting, conference, Trade Fairs, etc.
