Overview

If your travel to Slovenia is for one of the following purpose, you are eligible to apply for this visa.

• Members of official delegations
• Participants in official twin city programmes
• Employees travelling on business
• Self-employed people
• Drivers (international cargo and passengers)
• Members of train, refrigerator and locomotive crews
• Air crews (if in need of a visa)
• Journalists

A Schengen visa allows you to stay in the Schengen area 90 days in each 180 days. If you want to stay longer, for example to study or work, you need to apply for a national visa (residence permit) at the Slovenian Embassy in Moscow. WHEN TO APPLY FOR A SHORT-STAY VISA (C TYPE)

You may submit an application no earlier than 6 months before your intended journey. If you apply less than 30 days before the journey, your application may not be processed in time. We suggest that you plan your trip and apply for a visa well in advance, as in peak seasons we may not be able to arrange an appointment at which you can submit an application immediately.

As a general rule, visa applications are decided on within 30 days and, exceptionally, to 60 days, if a more detailed examination of the application and/or additional documents are required.

Some Schengen countries require that they be consulted regarding visa applications submitted by citizens of certain countries. This consultation process may delay the visa procedure by several days. Such consultation is currently required for nationals of the countries listed here. Similarly, some Schengen countries may require that they be informed when a visa has been issued to nationals of certain third countries, which are listed here.

Furthermore, it is also recommended that you lodge a visa application with due consideration of the national holidays of the Schengen country of destination and of the country in which you apply for a visa. Holders of a multiple-entry visa (valid for a period of at least six months) may lodge an application for a new visa before the expiry of such visa.

If any documents are missing but the visa application is otherwise admissible, applicants will receive a notice regarding the missing documents and the deadline for their submission (3 working days).

In the event of an emergency (death, an accident involving a family member, etc.) when you urgently need to travel as soon as possible, please contact the Embassy of Slovenia by phone or email to make the necessary arrangements to facilitate your visa application process.

CONSENT FOR PROCESSING OF PERSONAL DATA

In accordance to the Federal Law of Russian Federation, all applicants have to provide consent for processing personal data related to their visa application and are thus requested to complete and sign the consent for personal data processing in Russian Language only. Applicants are requested to complete the consent for personal data processing in advance and submit it along with the application form and other documents. This will save time while submitting documents at the visa application centre.

Personal Data Protection Information

VFS Global processes personal data on behalf of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Slovenia and is bound by standard contractual clauses (Commission Decision 2010/87/EU) to provide the same standard of personal data protection as the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Slovenia under the General Data Protection Regulation (Regulation (EU) 2016/679).

Personal data is processed for the purpose of visa applications in administrative procedures conducted by a competent embassy or consulate-general of the Republic of Slovenia.

Your personal data, including photograph and fingerprints, where applicable, are mandatory elements of a visa application. If you decide not to submit the requested personal data, your application may be deemed inadmissible or may be rejected.

The legal basis for processing personal data is provided by Regulation (EC) No 810/2009 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 13 July 2009 establishing a Community Code on Visas (Visa Code) and Regulation (EC) No 767/2008 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 9 July 2008 concerning the Visa Information System (VIS) and the exchange of data between Member States on short-stay visas (VIS Regulation).

You have the right to request from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Slovenia access to, and the rectification or erasure of, personal data or a restriction on the processing of data concerning you, or to object to such processing, including the right to data portability, pursuant to Articles 15 through 20 of the General Data Protection Regulation.

You have the right to lodge a complaint concerning the processing of personal data with the Information Commissioner of the Republic of Slovenia, located at Dunajska cesta 22, 1000 Ljubljana, Slovenia.

The above information does not apply to personal data processed by VFS Global concerning the payment of consular and service fees or to personal data processed by VFS Global in relation to additional commercial services.

Visa and Service Fees

Please note that the final decision on waiving the visa fee is taken by the Embassy.

VFS SERVICE CHARGE

Apart from the visa fee, a VFS service charge of the equivalent of 30,6 EUR in Russian Rubles inclusive of VAT per application will be levied for applicants applying at the visa application centre.

INFORMATION ON PAYMENTS

• Visa fee and VFS service charge can be paid at the visa application centre in cash or by credit/debit card.
• The VFS service charge is non-refundable.
• The VFS service charge is waived for children under 6 years of age.
• You can pay in Russian Rubles only.
• The applicable visa fee in Russian Rubles is as per the current exchange rate.
• Visa fees are non-refundable, except in cases they have been levied in error. In this case, the visa fee is refunded in cash in one of the visa application centres or is transferred to the credit/debit card.

VISA FEE WAIVER FOR:

• Family members of EU nationals under the Directive 2004/38/EC

This list will help you prepare the necessary documents to apply for a short-term visa. Supporting documents (originals and copies) should be provided in Russian or English.

Please note that each applicant should submit their own set of documents according to their purpose of travel.

Please note that the Embassy may also request additional documents or information if this is necessary for the consideration of the application.

1. Application form:The application must be duly and legibly completed, signed, and dated by the applicant. For applicants under 18 years of age, the application form should be signed by the applicant’s parent/legal guardian. The visa application form may be submitted in the following languages: Slovenian, English and Russian.
2. Original travel document: The travel document must be valid for at least 3 months after the intended departure from the Schengen Area. Furthermore, the travel document must have been issued within the previous 10 years and contain at least 2 blank pages + copy of the bio page
   

   The travel document must be recognised by the Republic of Slovenia.

   You must present a travel document allowing you to return to the country:

   • of which you are a citizen;
   • that issued the travel document (this applies, e.g., to stateless persons);
   • in which you are a holder of a residence permit.
3. Recent passport-size photograph: The photograph should be compliant with ICAO standards; a light background and neutral expression is required, head covers are not acceptable; no staples. The photograph must be 35 x 45 mm and correspond to the person’s current appearance. The person photographed must be wearing plain clothes, without dark glasses (except for blind people) and without a head cover, unless the use of a head cover is justified for religious or medical reasons; in such case, the head cover must not obscure the face in a manner preventing identification. The photograph required for the issuance of a visa must have a smooth surface and colour. The person portrayed must have a neutral expression, his or her mouth must be closed, and the eyes must be open.
4. Travel medical insurance policy: Applicants for a short-stay visa (C Type) must have foreign travel medical insurance to cover any expenses that might arise in connection with repatriation for medical reasons, urgent medical attention and/or emergency hospital treatment or death during their stay(s) in the territory of the Schengen countries. The insurance must be valid throughout the territory of the Schengen countries and cover the entire period of the person’s intended stay or transit. The minimum coverage is EUR 30,000.
   

   Applicants for a uniform visa for multiple entries must have valid travel medical insurance covering the period of their first intended visit. In addition, such applicants must sign the statement in the application form declaring that they are aware of the need to have travel medical insurance for subsequent stays.

   Holders of diplomatic passports and family members of EU citizens are exempt from the requirement to have travel medical insurance.

1. Copy of the internal passport (issued at the age of 14): pages concerning the applicant's biodata, foreign passport(s) issued to him/her, his/her marital status and registration in Russia.

Minors:

a. Copy of the birth certificate.

b. Consent of the parental authority or legal guardian if the minor travels alone or only with one parent. Exception is made in cases where the single parent with whom the minor is to travel holds the parental authority alone (i.e. in cases where the other parent has deceased or been deprived of custody, e.g. a death certificate of the other parent or a court degree vesting custody exclusively in the parent who is signing the application should be provided).

c. Copy of the valid Schengen visa of the parent(s) travelling with the minor for whom a visa is not applied at the same time with the parent(s).

d. If the name and surname of the parent(s) are different from those on the child's birth certificate, the parent(s) must provide additional documents (marriage certificate or court order or any other documents evidencing a change of name or surname and confirming the child's link with the parent(s)).

5. Travel arrangements:


a) Fully paid return ticket from Russia to Slovenia and back from Slovenia to Russia with a change of planes in a non-Schengen country not exceeding 24 hours with a proof of payment (bank transaction, receipt from the airline)

b) Proof of fully paid accommodation (not required in case of private visits, paid directly to the hotel or accomodation, not the a travel aggregator)

6. Proof of financial means:


a) Bank statements showing bank operations over the last three months.

b) Extract from the Russian Pension and Social Insurance Fund for the last 10 years. The document should be digitally signed.

c) Letter of sponsorship, if the cost of the stay is covered by a sponsor and a copy of passport or national ID of sponsor (bio page and registration), proof of relations, if the sponsorship form does not contain the full personal information of the sponsor.

7. Documents to be provided regarding the occupation of the applicant:


a) Employees:

Letter from the employer, confirming the employee's position and salary, date of employment and date of end of employment, if relevant; Π Π Salary slips for the last six months.

b) Individual entrepreneurs:

Proof of economic activity (e.g. 2NDFL, 4 or 3NDFL form). Extract from trade/fiscal registry or certificate for individual business.

c) Pupils/students:

Proof of enrolment in school or university or a student ID (original and copy). Π Π d) Pensioners: Pension booklet (original and copy).

d) Unemployed persons:

- A document proving the applicant's ties to Russia (i.e. vital statistics certificate, proof of property ownership).

- A copy of the work booklet's page with personal data and pages which show the holder's job history at least during last three years, if applicable.

DOCUMENTS PROVING THE PRUPOSE OF THE TRIP

Members of official delegations:

• LETTER (e.g. verbal note) issued by a competent Russian authority (e.g. MID) confirming that the applicant is a member of its delegation travelling to the Republic of Slovenia.
• COPY OF THE OFFICIAL INVITATION.

Employees travelling on business:

• A LETTER OF GUARANTEE from a hosting firm or organization, an office or branch, state or local authority in Slovenia or organizing committees of trade and industrial exhibitions, conferences and symposia to attend meetings, conferences or events connected with trade, industry or work; if no such letter of guarantee can be obtained, other proof of purpose of stay (e.g. information on participation in conference, entrance ticket to trade fair, business correspondence, programme of the business trip).

Business - drivers (international cargo and passengers):

• Written request from the Russian national association of carriers (ASMAP or RAS) or the national association of carriers of the Member State stating the purpose, duration and frequency of trips.

• Written request by companies registered in the Member State or in third countries providing for international road transportation, stating the purpose, itinerary, duration and frequency of the trips.

• Documents concerning the transport company: registration number, as required by the national law of the Member State or of the Russian Federation, and, if applicable, contract between a company established in the Russian Federation or in a third country and its partner company established in the Member States.

• Documents concerning the driver: d driver's license; transport truck driving certificate; copy of registration certificates of truck and trailer or bus; license or permit for carrying out long distance transportation of cargo or passengers

Business members of train, refrigerator and locomotive crews:

Written request from the competent Russian railway company (OAO RZD with its branches and OAO Refservice") or a competent railway company of the Member State stating the purpose, duration and frequency of trips.

Business seafarers:

• Full copy of the seaman's book.

• Copy of contract. c) Employment certificate from manning agency / crew management company. d) Invitation from shipping agency in the EU as well as from the Russian sending agency.

• The invitation letter from both mentioned agencies should be written on the company's official paper with stamp, signature, name and position of the authorized signatory, and should include the following detailed information:

- complete identity of the seafarer (name, place and date of birth);

-passport and Sea farer's Identity Document numbers, with date of issue and validity;

- sailor's position on the vessel (in case of a group of sailors, this information can be included in a list signed, sealed and attached to the invitation letter);

- name of the vessel;

- port and date of boarding; duration of the contract;

- itinerary that the seafarer will follow to arrive to the Member State of destination/transit.

Business journalists:

a) A certificate or other document issued by a professional organization proving that the person is a qualified journalist.

b) Letter from his/her employer stating that the purpose of the journey is to carry out journalistic work. Medical reasons (persons travelling for medical reasons and their companions):

Photo Specifications

Please read the specifications for photographs carefully before submitting your visa application. 

The photo needs to display a full frontal view of the face. The size of the face from the bottom of your chin to the hairline must be between 32mm (1 ¼ inches) and 36mm (1 3/8 inches). Please look directly into the camera with a neutral expression and without smiling. The maximal height is 45 mm. 

The facial image must be sharp, clear, and with sufficient contrast. Please avoid photos with reflections or shadows on the face or with red eyes. The background should be neutral and light, providing sufficient contrast to the face and hair (we recommend a neutral grey). Reflection from glasses, sunglasses or tinted glasses is not permitted. The eyes cannot be hidden by the glass frames.

The photo needs to be printed on high-quality paper with at least 300 dpi resolution; the colours must present a natural appearance and skin tone. The photo must not have kinks, scratches or stains on it. The photo must not have been produced with the help of a graphics editing program.

Two recent passport size photos for each person included in the application. Please note that photos should be not older than 6 months.

Due to the stringent requirements around the Photo required for your application, we recommend you utilize the photo services available inside the Visa Application Center. This will provide you assurance that your application is submitted with the photograph that meets the specifications and will be acceptable to the Embassy. You will have ready photographs in 45 seconds.

Fingerprint specifications

Fingerprints are collected from all applicants, except for the following: children up to 12 years of age, applicants who have submitted fingerprints in the last five years (59 months) for a short-stay visa (C Type), applicants for whom fingerprinting is physically impossible, heads of state and government and their delegations if invited for an official visit, and members of royal families if invited for an official visit.

Non-Russian nationals: proof of legal residence in the Russian Federation in line with federal legislation (e.g. residence permit, long-term visa or a temporary residence permit), valid for at least three months after the planned return from the territory of the Member States or a document proving that the applicant has applied for a renewal of proof of legal residence.

DOCUMENTS PROVING THE PRUPOSE OF THE TRIP

a) Owners of property in the territory of the Republic of Slovenia and their close relatives:

• Relevant national document (e.g. recent extract from the real estate register, copy of the purchase contract/deed of sale, etc.) proving that the applicant owns the property in question.
• In cases of close relatives, proof of the relationship.

b) Tourism:

b) Proof of fully paid accommodation (not required in case of private visits, paid directly to the hotel or accomodation, not the a travel aggregator) . The payment should be made directly to the hotel or accommodation, not the aggregator.

c) Medical reasons (persons travelling for medical reasons and their companions):

a) Official document from the Russian health institution confirming the need for medical treatment and, if applicable, for the patient to be accompanied, as well as proof that sufficient financial means are available to pay for the treatment.

b) Proof of deposit to meet the expenses of the medical treatment, if applicable.

IN CASE OF VISIT TO FRIENDS:

a letter of guarantee (Garantno Pismo) certified by a Slovenian administrative unit (Upravna Enota). A copy of the certified letter of guarantee with the seal of the administrative authority and the registration number clearly visible is sufficient.

The photo needs to display a full frontal view of the face. The size of the face from the bottom of your chin to the hairline must be between 32mm (1 ¼ inches) and 36mm (1 3/8 inches). Please look directly into the camera with a neutral expression and without smiling. The maximal height is 45 mm. 

The facial image must be sharp, clear, and with sufficient contrast. Please avoid photos with reflections or shadows on the face or with red eyes. The background should be neutral and light, providing sufficient contrast to the face and hair (we recommend a neutral grey). Reflection from glasses, sunglasses or tinted glasses is not permitted. The eyes cannot be hidden by the glass frames.

The photo needs to be printed on high-quality paper with at least 300 dpi resolution; the colours must present a natural appearance and skin tone. The photo must not have kinks, scratches or stains on it. The photo must not have been produced with the help of a graphics editing program.

Fingerprint specifications

Fingerprints are collected from all applicants, except for the following: children up to 12 years of age, applicants who have submitted fingerprints in the last five years (59 months) for a short-stay visa (C Type), applicants for whom fingerprinting is physically impossible, heads of state and government and their delegations if invited for an official visit, and members of royal families if invited for an official visit.

Overview

If your travel to Slovenia is for one of the following purpose, you are eligible to apply for this visa.

• Close relatives visiting Russian citizens residing legally in a Schengen Member State
• Close relatives visiting EU (EEA & Swiss) citizens
• Family members of EU (EEA & Swiss) citizens (not resident in their home country in line with Directive 2004/38/EC)

A Schengen visa allows you to stay in the Schengen area 90 days in each 180 days. If you want to stay longer, for example to study or work, you need to apply for a national visa (residence permit) at the Slovenian Embassy in Moscow. WHEN TO APPLY FOR A SHORT-STAY VISA (C TYPE)

You may submit an application no earlier than 6 months before your intended journey. If you apply less than 30 days before the journey, your application may not be processed in time. We suggest that you plan your trip and apply for a visa well in advance, as in peak seasons we may not be able to arrange an appointment at which you can submit an application immediately.

As a general rule, visa applications are decided on within 30 days and, exceptionally, to 60 days, if a more detailed examination of the application and/or additional documents are required.

Some Schengen countries require that they be consulted regarding visa applications submitted by citizens of certain countries. This consultation process may delay the visa procedure by several days. Such consultation is currently required for nationals of the countries listed here. Similarly, some Schengen countries may require that they be informed when a visa has been issued to nationals of certain third countries, which are listed here.

Furthermore, it is also recommended that you lodge a visa application with due consideration of the national holidays of the Schengen country of destination and of the country in which you apply for a visa. Holders of a multiple-entry visa (valid for a period of at least six months) may lodge an application for a new visa before the expiry of such visa.

If any documents are missing but the visa application is otherwise admissible, applicants will receive a notice regarding the missing documents and the deadline for their submission (3 working days).

In the event of an emergency (death, an accident involving a family member, etc.) when you urgently need to travel as soon as possible, please contact the Embassy of Slovenia by phone or email to make the necessary arrangements to facilitate your visa application process.

CONSENT FOR PROCESSING OF PERSONAL DATA

In accordance to the Federal Law of Russian Federation, all applicants have to provide consent for processing personal data related to their visa application and are thus requested to complete and sign the consent for personal data processing in Russian Language only. Applicants are requested to complete the consent for personal data processing in advance and submit it along with the application form and other documents. This will save time while submitting documents at the visa application centre.

Personal Data Protection Information

VFS Global processes personal data on behalf of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Slovenia and is bound by standard contractual clauses (Commission Decision 2010/87/EU) to provide the same standard of personal data protection as the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Slovenia under the General Data Protection Regulation (Regulation (EU) 2016/679).

Personal data is processed for the purpose of visa applications in administrative procedures conducted by a competent embassy or consulate-general of the Republic of Slovenia.

Your personal data, including photograph and fingerprints, where applicable, are mandatory elements of a visa application. If you decide not to submit the requested personal data, your application may be deemed inadmissible or may be rejected.

The legal basis for processing personal data is provided by Regulation (EC) No 810/2009 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 13 July 2009 establishing a Community Code on Visas (Visa Code) and Regulation (EC) No 767/2008 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 9 July 2008 concerning the Visa Information System (VIS) and the exchange of data between Member States on short-stay visas (VIS Regulation).

Apart from the visa fee, a VFS service charge of the equivalent of 30,6 EUR in Russian Rubles inclusive of VAT per application will be levied for applicants applying at the visa application centre.

1. Application form: The application must be duly and legibly completed, signed, and dated by the applicant. For applicants under 18 years of age, the application form should be signed by the applicant’s parent/legal guardian. The visa application form may be submitted in the following languages: Slovenian, English and Russian.
2. Original travel document: The travel document must be valid for at least 3 months after the intended departure from the Schengen Area. Furthermore, the travel document must have been issued within the previous 10 years and contain at least 2 blank pages + copy of the bio page
   

   The travel document must be recognised by the Republic of Slovenia.

   You must present a travel document allowing you to return to the country:

   • of which you are a citizen;
   • that issued the travel document (this applies, e.g., to stateless persons);
   • in which you are a holder of a residence permit.
3. Recent passport-size photograph: The photograph should be compliant with ICAO standards; a light background and neutral expression is required, head covers are not acceptable; no staples. The photograph must be 35 x 45 mm and correspond to the person’s current appearance. The person photographed must be wearing plain clothes, without dark glasses (except for blind people) and without a head cover, unless the use of a head cover is justified for religious or medical reasons; in such case, the head cover must not obscure the face in a manner preventing identification. The photograph required for the issuance of a visa must have a smooth surface and colour. The person portrayed must have a neutral expression, his or her mouth must be closed, and the eyes must be open.
4. Travel medical insurance policy: Applicants for a short-stay visa (C Type) must have a foreign travel medical insurance to cover any expenses that might arise in connection with repatriation for medical reasons, urgent medical attention and/or emergency hospital treatment or death during their stay(s) in the territory of the Schengen countries. The insurance must be valid throughout the territory of the Schengen countries and cover the entire period of the person’s intended stay or transit. The minimum coverage is EUR 30,000.
   

   Applicants for a uniform visa for multiple entries must have valid travel medical insurance covering the period of their first intended visit. In addition, such applicants must sign the statement in the application form declaring that they are aware of the need to have travel medical insurance for subsequent stays.

   Holders of diplomatic passports and family members of EU citizens are exempt from the requirement to have travel medical insurance.

1. Copy of the internal passport (issued at the age of 14): pages concerning the applicant's biodata, foreign passport(s) issued to him/her, his/her marital status and registration in Russia.

Minors:

a. Copy of the birth certificate.

b. Consent of the parental authority or legal guardian if the minor travels alone or only with one parent. Exception is made in cases where the single parent with whom the minor is to travel holds the parental authority alone (i.e. in cases where the other parent has deceased or been deprived of custody, e.g. a death certificate of the other parent or a court degree vesting custody exclusively in the parent who is signing the application should be provided).

c. Copy of the valid Schengen visa of the parent(s) travelling with the minor for whom a visa is not applied at the same time with the parent(s).

d. If the name and surname of the parent(s) are different from those on the child's birth certificate, the parent(s) must provide additional documents (marriage certificate or court order or any other documents evidencing a change of name or surname and confirming the child's link with the parent(s)).

5. Travel arrangements:

a) Fully paid return ticket from Russia to Slovenia and back from Slovenia to Russia with a change of planes in a non-Schengen country not exceeding 24 hours with a proof of payment (bank transaction, receipt from the airline)

b) Proof of fully paid accommodation (not required in case of private visits, paid directly to the hotel or accomodation, not the a travel aggregator)

6. Proof of financial means:

a) Bank statements showing bank operations over the last three months.

b) Extract from the Russian Pension and Social Insurance Fund for the last 10 years. The document should be digitally signed.

c) Letter of sponsorship, if the cost of the stay is covered by a sponsor and a copy of passport or national ID of sponsor (bio page and registration), proof of relations, if the sponsorship form does not contain the full personal information of the sponsor.

7. Documents to be provided regarding the occupation of the applicant:

a) Employees:

Letter from the employer, confirming the employee's position and salary, date of employment and date of end of employment, if relevant; Π Π Salary slips for the last six months.

b) Individual entrepreneurs:

Proof of economic activity (e.g. 2NDFL, 4 or 3NDFL form). Extract from trade/fiscal registry or certificate for individual business.

c) Pupils/students:

Proof of enrolment in school or university or a student ID (original and copy). Π Π d) Pensioners: Pension booklet (original and copy).

d) Unemployed persons:

- A document proving the applicant's ties to Russia (i.e. vital statistics certificate, proof of property ownership).

- A copy of the work booklet's page with personal data and pages which show the holder's job history at least during last three years, if applicable.

Non-Russian nationals: proof of legal residence in the Russian Federation in line with federal legislation (e.g. residence permit, long-term visa or a temporary residence permit), valid for at least three months after the planned return from the territory of the Member States or a document proving that the applicant has applied for a renewal of proof of legal residence.

• A LETTER OF GUARANTEE from the host person which must be certified by a Slovenian administrative unit. A copy of the certified letter of guarantee with the seal of the administrative authority and the registration number clearly visible is sufficient.

• Participants in international sports events and accompanying persons in their professional capacity:
  • WRITTEN REQUEST (letter of guarantee) from the host organisation (competent authority, national sport federation or national Olympic committee), including information on the role of the persons, which must be certified by the internal administrative authorities of the Republic of Slovenia – UPRAVNA ENOTA. A copy of the letter of guarantee with the seal of the administrative authority and the registration number clearly visible is sufficient.

Photo Specifications

Please read the specifications for photographs carefully before submitting your visa application. 

The photo needs to display a full frontal view of the face. The size of the face from the bottom of your chin to the hairline must be between 32mm (1 ¼ inches) and 36mm (1 3/8 inches). Please look directly into the camera with a neutral expression and without smiling. The maximal height is 45 mm. 

The facial image must be sharp, clear, and with sufficient contrast. Please avoid photos with reflections or shadows on the face or with red eyes. The background should be neutral and light, providing sufficient contrast to the face and hair (we recommend a neutral grey). Reflection from glasses, sunglasses or tinted glasses is not permitted. The eyes cannot be hidden by the glass frames.

The photo needs to be printed on high-quality paper with at least 300 dpi resolution; the colours must present a natural appearance and skin tone. The photo must not have kinks, scratches or stains on it. The photo must not have been produced with the help of a graphics editing program.

Fingerprint specifications

Fingerprints are collected from all applicants, except for the following: children up to 12 years of age, applicants who have submitted fingerprints in the last five years (59 months) for a short-stay visa (C Type), applicants for whom fingerprinting is physically impossible, heads of state and government and their delegations if invited for an official visit, and members of royal families if invited for an official visit.

Overview

If your travel to Slovenia is for one of the following purpose, you are eligible to apply for this visa.

• Transit

A Schengen visa allows you to stay in the Schengen area 90 days in each 180 days. If you want to stay longer, for example to study or work, you need to apply for a national visa (residence permit) at the Slovenian Embassy in Moscow. WHEN TO APPLY FOR A SHORT-STAY VISA (C TYPE)

You may submit an application no earlier than 6 months before your intended journey. If you apply less than 30 days before the journey, your application may not be processed in time. We suggest that you plan your trip and apply for a visa well in advance, as in peak seasons we may not be able to arrange an appointment at which you can submit an application immediately.

As a general rule, visa applications are decided on within 30 days and, exceptionally, to 60 days, if a more detailed examination of the application and/or additional documents are required.

Some Schengen countries require that they be consulted regarding visa applications submitted by citizens of certain countries. This consultation process may delay the visa procedure by several days. Such consultation is currently required for nationals of the countries listed here. Similarly, some Schengen countries may require that they be informed when a visa has been issued to nationals of certain third countries, which are listed here.

Furthermore, it is also recommended that you lodge a visa application with due consideration of the national holidays of the Schengen country of destination and of the country in which you apply for a visa. Holders of a multiple-entry visa (valid for a period of at least six months) may lodge an application for a new visa before the expiry of such visa.

If any documents are missing but the visa application is otherwise admissible, applicants will receive a notice regarding the missing documents and the deadline for their submission (3 working days).

In the event of an emergency (death, an accident involving a family member, etc.) when you urgently need to travel as soon as possible, please contact the Embassy of Slovenia by phone or email to make the necessary arrangements to facilitate your visa application process.

CONSENT FOR PROCESSING OF PERSONAL DATA

In accordance to the Federal Law of Russian Federation, all applicants have to provide consent for processing personal data related to their visa application and are thus requested to complete and sign the consent for personal data processing in Russian Language only. Applicants are requested to complete the consent for personal data processing in advance and submit it along with the application form and other documents. This will save time while submitting documents at the visa application centre.

Personal Data Protection Information

VFS Global processes personal data on behalf of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Slovenia and is bound by standard contractual clauses (Commission Decision 2010/87/EU) to provide the same standard of personal data protection as the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Slovenia under the General Data Protection Regulation (Regulation (EU) 2016/679).

Personal data is processed for the purpose of visa applications in administrative procedures conducted by a competent embassy or consulate-general of the Republic of Slovenia.

Your personal data, including photograph and fingerprints, where applicable, are mandatory elements of a visa application. If you decide not to submit the requested personal data, your application may be deemed inadmissible or may be rejected.

The legal basis for processing personal data is provided by Regulation (EC) No 810/2009 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 13 July 2009 establishing a Community Code on Visas (Visa Code) and Regulation (EC) No 767/2008 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 9 July 2008 concerning the Visa Information System (VIS) and the exchange of data between Member States on short-stay visas (VIS Regulation).

You have the right to request from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Slovenia access to, and the rectification or erasure of, personal data or a restriction on the processing of data concerning you, or to object to such processing, including the right to data portability, pursuant to Articles 15 through 20 of the General Data Protection Regulation.

You have the right to lodge a complaint concerning the processing of personal data with the Information Commissioner of the Republic of Slovenia, located at Dunajska cesta 22, 1000 Ljubljana, Slovenia.

The above information does not apply to personal data processed by VFS Global concerning the payment of consular and service fees or to personal data processed by VFS Global in relation to additional commercial services.

Visa and Service Fees

Please note that the final decision on waiving the visa fee is taken by the Embassy.

VFS SERVICE CHARGE

Apart from the visa fee, a VFS service charge of the equivalent of 30,6 EUR in Russian Rubles inclusive of VAT per application will be levied for applicants applying at the visa application centre.

INFORMATION ON PAYMENTS

• Visa fee and VFS service charge can be paid at the visa application centre in cash or by credit/debit card.
• The VFS service charge is non-refundable.
• The VFS service charge is waived for children under 6 years of age.
• You can pay in Russian Rubles only.
• The applicable visa fee in Russian Rubles is as per the current exchange rate.
• Visa fees are non-refundable, except in cases they have been levied in error. In this case, the visa fee is refunded in cash in one of the visa application centres or is transferred to the credit/debit card.
• This list will help you prepare the necessary documents to apply for a short-term visa. Supporting documents (originals and copies) should be provided in Russian or English.
• Please note that each applicant should submit their own set of documents according to their purpose of travel.
