Beijing Jurisdiction: Beijing, Changsha, Chengdu, Chongqing, Fuzhou, Guangzhou, Jinan, Kunming, Shenyang, Shenzhen, Wuhan, Xi’an.
Shanghai jurisdiction: Hangzhou, Nanjing, Shanghai.
Note: Shanghai jurisdiction also includes the provinces: Anhui, Jiangsu and Zhejiang.
VISA TYPE C
Stays for up to 90 days with one, two or multiple entries and period of validity varying.
Travel purpose:
If you intend to travel to more than one Schengen State, the application must be dealt with by the Embassy/Consulate General of the main destination (most days spent).

Possible Visa Fee Exemption:
In certain circumstances it is possible that you are exempt from the visa fee. Please note that the Embassy/Consulate reserves the right to request the visa fee even if your case might meet one of the below Visa Fee exemptions.
- Children under the age of six.
- Pupils, students, participants in postgraduate courses and accompanying teaching staff who wish to travel on study or training trips.
- Researchers, as defined in point (2) of Article 3 of Directive (EU) 2016/801 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 11 May 2016, travelling for the purpose of carrying out scientific research or participating in a scientific seminar or conference.
- Representatives of non-profit organizations up to the age of 25 participating in seminars, conferences, sports, cultural or educational events organized by non-profit organizations.
- Third-country nationals of EEA countries or CH citizens are entitled to free movement under the Directive on the free movement of persons (Directive 2004/38/EC).

The PIPL consent form, visa application checklist & the visa application form needs to be downloaded, completed and signed digitally or written clearly by using black ink.
Passport: Submit your original passport with at least 2 blank visa pages, a validity extending 3 months beyond your return date, and issued within the past 10 years, along with copies of the data page (the page on which the photograph is located) and all previous visas and stamps.
1. Proof of Employment/Study/Retirement
- Work: Employment certificate (salary, position, tenure, return guarantee), company leave approval letter (stamped, with issuer’s contact) and business license copy (for self-employed, add tax receipts).
- Study: School leave approval letter (stamped, with issuer’s contact).
- Retirement: Retirement certificate (name, former position, employer/pension authority details).
2. Financial Means / Proof of Income
- Employed: Bank statements (last 3 months), stamped, showing your name, salary, and total income.
- Unemployed and married: Spouse’s sponsorship letter & marriage certificate.
- Unemployed and single/divorced/widowed: Proof of regular income.
- Student: Parents’/guardian’s bank statements (stamped, with income details).
3. Itinerary: Submit a complete travel itinerary covering all Schengen countries, including entry/exit dates, accommodation, and visit purposes.
4. Flight Reservations: Provide round-trip flight reservations, indicating the applicant’s full name, with full departure and arrival details. In order to avoid unnecessary expenses, it is recommended to confirm your flight ticket only after issuance of visa.
5. Accommodation: Submit hotel bookings, a rental agreement, or a host invitation letter covering your entire stay.
6. Passport Photo: Provide one recent passport-sized photo that meets official ICAO specifications; onsite photography services are available if needed for an additional fee.
7. Hukou: Submit the copy with your application and the original needs to be shown for verification.
8. Authorization Letter (if applicable): If someone is submitting on your behalf, provide a signed authorization letter, the representative’s original ID with a copy, and signatures from both parents/legal guardians for minors.
9. Travel Medical Insurance: Submit proof of insurance with at least €30,000 coverage valid for your entire Schengen stay, with no deductibles. EEA/Swiss family members are exempted from this obligation.

Photo Specifications

General Requirements:
- Size: 35 mm × 45 mm (width × height).
- Background: White background with no shadows, patterns, or objects.
- Facial Expression: Neutral, mouth closed, eyes open and clearly visible.
- Head Position:
- Face must occupy 70-80% of the photo (chin to forehead: 28–33 mm).
- Eyes should be at the middle height of the photo.
- No tilting (face must be straight). - Lighting & Quality:
- Shadows: No shadows on the face or background.
- Eyes: No red-eyes or glare (especially if wearing glasses). - Resolution: High resolution (minimum 600 DPI for printed photos). - Digital alternations: No digital alterations (no filters, retouching, or AI enhancements).
Appearance Rules:

- No tinted lenses (clear glasses only).

- Neutral expression (no pacifiers, toys, people, or hands visible in the frame).
- Eyes must be open (difficult but required). - Medical/Disability Exceptions: - If a person cannot close their mouth or keep their eyes open, exceptions apply (with documentation).
Processing Time
- Applicants must submit their visa application at one of the Visa Application Centers within their jurisdiction.
- If applying outside your jurisdiction, you must present a valid Temporary Resident Permit on the day of submission along with a copied version added in your visa application.
- The average processing time of an admissible Schengen visa application is 15 calendar days. If further checks are necessary, the processing time may increase to 45 calendar days.

Please stick one photo on the application form and attach the other one with a paper clip.A Photograph submitted with the application should comply with the following specifications:

- Latest photograph not older than 6 months
- Colour photograph printed on normal photographic paper
- Should be passport sized 45mm x 35mm
- 70-80% of the photograph should be covered by face
- Full face straight profile photograph, 30-36 mm from point of the chin to head
- Should be taken against a light background
- Should be without sunglasses, hat or cap

Processing Time
According to EU visa regulations, the maximum length of application processing time cannot exceed 15 calendar days, or the processing time of special applications cannot exceed 30-45 calendar days. Please note that your application submitted at the visa application center of Beijing Jurisdiction will be sent to the Austrian Embassy in Beijing for processing, and your application filed at the visa applications center of Shanghai Jurisdiction will also be sent to Austrian Consulate General in Shanghai for processing. When the Beijing / Shanghai Visa Application Centre receives applications from other cities, the applications are usually sent to the Beijing Embassy / Consulate General in Shanghai the following business day.

Purpose: Extended medical care or specialized treatment requiring a stay beyond 90 days.
Validity: Maximum stay of 91 days up to a maximum of 180 days.

The PIPL consent form, visa application checklist & the visa application form needs to be downloaded, completed and signed digitally or written clearly by using black ink.
1. Passport: Submit your original passport with at least 2 blank visa pages, a validity extending 3 months beyond your return date, and issued within the past 10 years, along with copies of the data page (the page on which the photograph is located) and all previous visas and stamps.
2. Proof of Employment/Study/Retirement
- Work: Employment certificate (salary, position, tenure, return guarantee), company leave approval letter (stamped, with issuer’s contact) and business license copy (for self-employed, add tax receipts).
- Study: School leave approval letter (stamped, with issuer’s contact).
- Retirement: Retirement certificate (name, former position, employer/pension authority details).
3. Financial Means / Proof of Income
- Employed: Bank statements (last 3 months), stamped, showing your name, salary, and total income.
- Unemployed and married: Spouse’s sponsorship letter & marriage certificate.
- Unemployed and single/divorced/widowed: Proof of regular income.
- Student: Parents’/guardian’s bank statements (stamped, with income details).
4. Itinerary: Submit a complete travel itinerary covering all Schengen countries, including entry/exit dates, accommodation, and visit purposes.
5. Flight Reservations: Provide round-trip flight reservations, indicating the applicant’s full name, with full departure and arrival details. In order to avoid unnecessary expenses, it is recommended to confirm your flight ticket only after issuance of visa.
6. Accommodation: Submit hotel bookings, a rental agreement, or a host invitation letter covering your entire stay.
7. Passport Photo: Provide one recent passport-sized photo that meets official ICAO specifications; onsite photography services are available if needed for an additional fee.
8. Hukou: Submit the copy with your application and the original needs to be shown for verification.
9. Authorization Letter (if applicable): If someone is submitting on your behalf, provide a signed authorization letter, the representative’s original ID with a copy, and signatures from both parents/legal guardians for minors.
10. Travel Medical Insurance: Submit proof of insurance with at least €30,000 coverage valid for your entire Schengen stay, with no deductibles. EEA/Swiss family members are exempted from this obligation.

Photo Specifications
1 recent passport photographs (colour, 3.5 x 4.5 cm, light background) should be complied with ICAO guidelines www.passbildkriterien.at.
Please stick one photo on the application form and attach the other one with a paper clip.A Photograph submitted with the application should comply with the following specifications:

- Latest photograph not older than 6 months
- Colour photograph printed on normal photographic paper
- Should be passport sized 45mm x 35mm
- 70-80% of the photograph should be covered by face
- Full face straight profile photograph, 30-36 mm from point of the chin to head
- Should be taken against a light background
- Should be without sunglasses, hat or cap
- Photograph can be taken with headgear, after consideration on case to case basis if the applicant wears headgear on religious grounds.
- Spectacles should not have toned or reflecting glasses. The frame of the spectacles may not cover the eyes

Processing Time
According to EU visa regulations, the maximum length of application processing time cannot exceed 15 calendar days, or the processing time of special applications cannot exceed 30-45 calendar days. Please note that your application submitted at the visa application center of Beijing Jurisdiction will be sent to the Austrian Embassy in Beijing for processing, and your application filed at the visa applications center of Shanghai Jurisdiction will also be sent to Austrian Consulate General in Shanghai for processing. When the Beijing / Shanghai Visa Application Centre receives applications from other cities, the applications are usually sent to the Beijing Embassy / Consulate General in Shanghai the following business day.

The visa processing time begins from the date the visa application is received by the Embassy or Consulate. Once your application needs to be transferred to the Austrian Immigration Service for processing, the processing time will be extended accordingly.
