Tourist

Overview
Short-term visa (visa C) - approval for transit through or intended stay in the territory of Croatia for a duration of no more than 90 days in any 180-day period.
It is issued for one, two or more entries for transit, tourist, business, private or other purposes. The validity period of a visa depends on the circumstances of traveling and cannot exceed five years.
The third-country national may not work in the territory of Croatia based on a short-term visa (visa C) alone.
Short-term visa (visa C) application shall be submitted in person. Visa application shall be submitted no more than six months.
Holders of UAE Ordinary/ Diplomatic / Official Passports do not require a visa to Croatia. Read Here
Croatia Visa Application center in Dubai is now accepting Tourism application with the below conditions in addition to normal requirements in the Tourism checklist.
Applicants traveling for tourist reasons must provide a certificate or receipt of paid accommodation in a hotel, camp, private renter or rented vessel and other form of tourist accommodation is presented.
Application without full payment confirmation and receipt of accommodation will not be accepted. Please be informed that the following condition does not guarantee the approval of the visa, it remains Embassy decision on the same.

Photo Specifications
Photographs must follow the below guidelines
- in colour
- 35x45 mm
- printed on normal photographic paper
- taken against a light background
- full face taken straight forward 30-36 mm from point of the chin to the head of hair
- the person is to be captured with neutral facial expression, with his/her eyes open and mouth closed
- The photograph of a person, who for religious, ethnic or medical reasons is wearing a head cover, must show the person's cheeks, chin and forehead
- children in photographs must be alone, and their faces fully visible and eyes open

Processing Time
The average processing time for the visa application is15 working days and can be extended to 45 working days at the Consulate General of Croatia in Dubai. However, in case the documents are not submitted as per requirement or due to other factors or justified reasons, the processing time may be extended up to 60 days.
Eid, Summer holidays (July and August), UAE National Holidays, Christmas, and New Year may extend the visa application processing time. VFS/Mission’s closures and holidays may extend the visa application processing time.
Please be advised that due to the above-mentioned minimum processing time, we are not able to guarantee the return of passports by specific dates for travel.
IMPORTANT NOTE:
In order to avoid any delays in the visa application process, it is paramount that the visa application is complete, and the documents submitted are as per the Mission’s requirements. The Consulate General of Croatia in Dubai, UAE may request additional documents, and this may lead to further delay in visa application processing time.
Applications will be accepted maximum 180 days prior to the travel date.

All third-country nationals who are holders of valid Multiple Entry Schengen visa, as well as national visas and residence permits of Bulgaria, Cyprus, and Romania do not require an additional (Croatian) visa for Croatia. They can transit or stay in the territory of Croatia not exceeding 90 days in any 180-day period.
Holders of UAE Ordinary/ Diplomatic / Official Passports do not require a visa to Croatia. Read Here
For Business and Private Visits, on every crossing of the border, the police may require the foreign citizen to present all relevant documents that includes copies of the Letters of Guarantee.

Transit

Overview
Citizens of UAE or UAE Nationals who plan to visit Croatia are not required to have a visa. If you reside in UAE please check whether you require a visa for Croatia. Please click here.
Pursuant to the Government’s Decision, the Republic of Croatia decided to apply Decision No. 565/2016/EU according to which all visitors holders of valid Schengen documents do not require an additional (Croatian) visa to enter Croatia.
Visitors who are holders of:
- uniform visa (C) for two or multiple entries, valid for all Schengen Area Member States;
- visa with limited territorial validity (LTV visa), for two or multiple entries, issued to the holder of a travel document that is not recognised by one or more, but not all of the Schengen Area Member States, and which is valid for the territory of the Member States recognising the travel document;
- long-stay visa (D) for stays exceeding three months, issued by one of the Schengen Area Member State;
- residence permit issued by one of the Schengen Area Member State;
do not require a visa for transit or intended stays in the territory of Croatia not exceeding 90 days in any 180-day period.

The period of validity of the above mentioned Schengen documents must cover the duration of the transit or stay.
Information for the holders of the Residence card of a family member of a Union citizen
A family member of a citizen of an EU Member State or the European Economic Area may travel to Croatia without a visa, if (s) he has a valid passport and a valid Residence card of a family member of a Union citizen, and is travelling in the company of or is joining the family member who is a citizen of an EU Member State or the EEA. If the family member of a citizen of an EU Member State or the EEA does not have such a card, (s) he needs a Croatian visa that will be issued on the basis of an accelerated procedure, free of charge.
A short-stay visa (C-visa) allows the visitor to transit through, or stay in the territory of the Republic of Croatia for a maximum of 90 days in any period 180 day-period. It is issued for one, two, or multiple entries for the purpose of transit, tourism, business, private or other purposes. Its validity period depends on the circumstances of the visitor’s travel to Croatia and may not exceed five years.
The visa shall not entitle a visitor to enter the Republic of Croatia.
A foreigner cannot work in Croatia on the basis of a short-term visa.
Please note that you may be required to come for a personal interview with the visa officer at the Embassy of the Republic of Croatia prior to a decision being made on your application.
Submitting a visa application, including all the required documents, does not automatically mean that the visa will be issued.
An issued visa is not a guarantee that a foreign citizen will be permitted to enter the Republic of Croatia. On every crossing of the border, the police may require the foreign citizen to present all relevant documents, including copies of the Letters of Guarantee for both private and business visits.
The decision to refuse a visa, indicating reasons for such a decision, shall be delivered to the applicant in a visa refusal/annulment/revocation form.
A foreign citizen may file a complaint against the decision to refuse a visa through the competent Embassy/Consulate of the Republic of Croatia, within 15 days from the date of receipt of the decision on visa refusal/annulment/revocation. The complaint shall be filed in Croatian. The fee for non-European countries is EUR 26 or US$ 35, according to Section 78b of the Law on Administrative Fees. The visa application fee is non-refundable once the application has been accepted at the Embassy.
Any falsification of the documents and the use of such documents may be subject to criminal prosecution.

- Passport: issued within the last 10 years, with expiry date exceeding the expiry date of the requested visa by a minimum of three months, and containing at least two empty pages. Please copy all previous (valid and expired) visas and used pages.

- Travel health insurance to cover the possible expenses related to repatriation, for health reasons, urgent medical assistance and/or urgent hospitalization, with the minimum coverage of EUR 30 000. The insurance must be valid for the territory of the Republic of Croatia during the entire stay in Croatia.
The applicant for a multiple-entry visa must have travel health-insurance policy that covers the period of the first visit to Croatia.
- Proof of residence for nationals other than Kazakhstan: a photocopy of the stay permit;
- Means of transportation: travel ticket for airplane, bus, or boat; registration card and driver's license if travelling by car
- Proof of entry into a third county (visa issued for a third country, if required) or proof of itinerary (travel ticket, etc.).
- For minors and persons deprived of legal capacity: visa application shall be submitted by a parent/legal representative, including:
- birth certificate of the minor (if parents are legal guardians)
- decision of the competent body designating the legal guardian
If a minor is traveling without a parent/legal guardian, (s)he must carry a notarized consent of a legal guardian that shall contain personal information of the parent/legal guardian and the purpose, the period and length of stay in Croatia, the period for which the consent is issued, and the signature of the parent/legal guardian.
The documents attached shall not be older than three months.

Pursuant to the Government’s Decision, the Republic of Croatia decided to apply Decision No. 565/2016/EU according to which all visitors holders of valid Schengen documents do not require an additional (Croatian) visa to enter Croatia.
Visitors who are holders of:
- uniform visa (C) for two or multiple entries, valid for all Schengen Area Member States;
- visa with limited territorial validity (LTV visa), for two or multiple entries, issued to the holder of a travel document that is not recognised by one or more, but not all of the Schengen Area Member States, and which is valid for the territory of the Member States recognising the travel document;
- long-stay visa (D) for stays exceeding three months, issued by one of the Schengen Area Member State;
- residence permit issued by one of the Schengen Area Member State;
do not require a visa for transit or intended stays in the territory of Croatia not exceeding 90 days in any 180-day period.

The period of validity of the above mentioned Schengen documents must cover the duration of the transit or stay.
Information for the holders of the Residence card of a family member of a Union citizen
A family member of a citizen of an EU Member State or the European Economic Area may travel to Croatia without a visa, if (s) he has a valid passport and a valid Residence card of a family member of a Union citizen, and is travelling in the company of or is joining the family member who is a citizen of an EU Member State or the EEA. If the family member of a citizen of an EU Member State or the EEA does not have such a card, (s) he needs a Croatian visa that will be issued on the basis of an accelerated procedure, free of charge.
A short-stay visa (C-visa) allows the visitor to transit through, or stay in the territory of the Republic of Croatia for a maximum of 90 days in any period 180 day-period. It is issued for one, two, or multiple entries for the purpose of transit, tourism, business, private or other purposes. Its validity period depends on the circumstances of the visitor’s travel to Croatia and may not exceed five years.
The visa shall not entitle a visitor to enter the Republic of Croatia.
A foreigner cannot work in Croatia on the basis of a short-term visa.
Please note that you may be required to come for a personal interview with the visa officer at the Embassy of the Republic of Croatia prior to a decision being made on your application.
Submitting a visa application, including all the required documents, does not automatically mean that the visa will be issued.
An issued visa is not a guarantee that a foreign citizen will be permitted to enter the Republic of Croatia. On every crossing of the border, the police may require the foreign citizen to present all relevant documents, including copies of the Letters of Guarantee for both private and business visits.
The decision to refuse a visa, indicating reasons for such a decision, shall be delivered to the applicant in a visa refusal/annulment/revocation form.
A foreign citizen may file a complaint against the decision to refuse a visa through the competent Embassy/Consulate of the Republic of Croatia, within 15 days from the date of receipt of the decision on visa refusal/annulment/revocation. - Members of official delegations who, following an official invitation, participate in meetings, consultations, negotiations or exchange programmes: Letter issued by the organiser confirming that the applicant is a member of the official delegation travelling to Croatia to participate in the above events, accompanying by the copy of the official invitation
- Documents proving sufficient funds to support the stay in Croatia and to return to the state of residence or to travel to a third state:
- 70 EUR per day of the estimated stay in Croatia
- 30 EUR per day of the estimated stay in Croatia if a third-country national is in possession of a certified Letter of Guarantee by Legal Person from the Republic of Croatia
Exceptionally, if the Invitation Letter indicates the guarantor is fully accepting all the expenses related to visiting and departing from Croatia, the applicant can be exempt from the requirement to present the proof of sufficient funds.
The supporting documents may include: pay slip and/or bank account statements about the balance and transactions on your bank account in the last three months, a pension slip, proof of scholarship received etc.
- Proof of professional status: evidence of employment; certificate of school attendance or proof of studying etc; for retired persons – proof of pension
- Accommodation: hotel booking, private or other accommodation, real estate title deed or lease, proof of ownership or lease of a boat etc. Accommodation can be provided by the guarantor or the inviting party if so indicated in the Letter of Invitation.

- Hotel or other reservation (at least one must be submitted).
- Hotel reservation needs to contain (date of intended stay, reservation №, hotel address, contact phone number and the amount of prepayment or full payment).
- For private apartment rentals: confirmation of the reservation from the owner (period of stay, names, passport numbers) and copy of decision of the Croatian authorities on the legal status of renting business called RJEŠENJE.
- Proof of activity (at least one must be submitted).
- For employed applicants: Work statement on the company letterhead indicating position, salary of an applicant gained within the previous period of 6 months, date of employment, and the duration of vacation.
- For private entrepreneurs: Certificate of registration of private entrepreneur.
- For pensioners: Pension certificate.
- For students: Student card (original and copy).
- Financial documents (at least one must be submitted).
Personal bank statement for last six months.
- Proof of intended transport (at least one must be presented).
- Air tickets reservation.
- Copy of the technical passport of the vehicle, green card and a copy of driver’s license for those who will travel by own vehicle.
Necessary documents depending on the applicant’s personal situation:
- For minors (age under 18):
- Birth certificate.
- Copies of the first pages of parent’s internal passports.
- Notarized consent from both of the parents in case of a minor travelling alone or a notarized consent from the parent who is not travelling in case a minor travelling with one of the parents.
- Copy of the valid Croatian / Schengen visa of the parent travelling together with the child, if the parent submits his/her application not at the same time.
- For endorsed children:
- Parent’s passport with a validity exceeding three months after the scheduled return, must be issued in the previous 10 years and needs to contain at least two empty pages for the visa.
- Copy of the birth certificate.
IMPORTANT: When submitting the Croatian visa for a minor child, inscribed in the passport of a parent who has a valid Schengen visa, you must open a visa to Croatia to both applicants - and the child and the parent in whose passport the child is inscribed.
ATTENTION:
The Embassy/ Consulate General of Croatia has the right to ask for any other additional documents necessary, may call the applicant for an interview, and keeps the right for refusal without any explanation. In all cases the visa fees are non-refundable.

Photo Specifications
Photographs must follow the below guidelines
- in colour
- 35x45 mm
- printed on normal photographic paper
- taken against a light background
- full face taken straight forward 30-36 mm from point of the chin to the head of hair
- the person is to be captured with neutral facial expression, with his/her eyes open and mouth closed
- The photograph of a person, who for religious or medical reasons is wearing a head cover, must show the person's cheeks, chin and forehead
Note: Please follow these instructions carefully. If the presented photos do not follow these requirements your application will be considered incomplete!

Processing Time
The average processing time for the visa application is 15 working days. The Visa Application along with Travel Document is sent to the Embassy of Croatia in Qatar for consideration and processing.
Application logistics time apart from Embassy's own processing time may vary and may affect the total processing time of the visa applications. Expected & Effective processing time is 4 to 5 weeks.
Eid, Summer holidays (July and August), UAE National Holidays, Christmas, and New Year may extend the visa application processing time. VFS/Mission’s closures and holidays may extend the visa application processing time.
Please be advised that due to the above-mentioned minimum processing time, we are not able to guarantee the return of passports by specific dates for travel.
IMPORTANT NOTE:
In order to avoid any delays in the visa application process, it is paramount that the visa application is complete, and the documents submitted are as per the Mission’s requirements. The embassy of Croatia in Qatar may request additional documents, and this may lead to further delay in visa application processing time.
Applications will be accepted maximum 90 days prior to the travel date.
Please be sure to submit your visa application well in advance, to avoid any inconveniences.

- Applicants who wish to apply for a visa to Croatia are strongly advised to use the Online Visa Application Form available at https://crovisa.mvep.hr/default.aspx?langId=en . The Online Form is available in Croatian, English, Albanian, Turkish, Russian and Ukrainian language. Once you have successfully completed the Online Application Form, you are requested to print a copy and submit it along with the Documents Required (refer to www.vfsglobal.com/croatia/uae ) to the Croatian Visa Application Centre in Dubai, UAE.
- Applicants must fill out the visa application form in Latin alphabet, with capital letters and sign it personally. A visa application for a minor or person deprived of their business capacity must be submitted by their legal representative, who must sign the form.
