VISA TYPES

Short Term Visa
This visa entitles aliens who seek to enter the territory of the Republic of Cyprus, for reasons other than immigration, to enter once or several times. The duration of each visit may not, however, exceed three months in any half year, starting from the date of first entry.
As a general rule, this visa may be issued for one or several entries.
In the case of aliens who need to travel frequently to Cyprus, e.g., business, short-stay visas may be issued for several visits, provided that the total length of these visits does not exceed three months in any half year. This multiple-entry visa may be valid for one year and, in exceptional cases, for more than a year, but for no more than five years for certain categories of persons.
- Visa Application form duly filled , signed by the applicant (or the legal guardian in the case of minors), with 2 passport- sized photographs attached to it.
- For children under the age of 18 the written consent of both parents is necessary when applying for a visa.
- Original passport along with copy of main pages, valid for at least three months after the date of expiration of the visa applied for. Visitors wishing to obtain a visa are advised to be in possession
of a passport valid for at least six months from date of entry to Cyprus.
- The visa for the return country must be valid for at least three months after the period of the intended stay.
- Provisional booking( or the Itinerary of travel arrangements, i.e. round-trip ticket with fixed dates) is necessary. You are advised that tickets should not be purchased before the visa is issued.
- A Hotel Reservation, confirmed by the hotel manager, is necessary.
- In case of a business trip, an official letter of invitation from a Cyprus company must be presented. Commercial document, i.e., certificate from the respective Chamber of Commerce and Industry, company’s registration certificate, both in original and photocopy, of the country of origin.
- For a visit to family and friends, a letter of invitation, including complete address, phone number and occupation in Cyprus, must be submitted (This may be requested together with a certified Assumption of Responsibility form, duly completed and signed by the host).
- Solid evidence of the last three months that there are sufficient funds to cover the cost of the intended stay in Cyprus, e.g. a bank statement or travelers’ cheques (credit cards can be accepted only in addition to bank statements and only with recent statement confirming credit limit. Please note that cash is not an acceptable proof). The original Bank Statement should be signed and sealed by the competent issuing authority. The Statement must mention the issuing branch telephone numbers with code numbers. The applicants must inform their bank to give the required information to the High Commission for the purpose of processing the visa application. In case banks deny sharing information with the High Commission, the application will not be processed.
- Photocopy of the tax declaration for last three years.

A recent (dated within one month only) official letter from the employer, addressed to the Cyprus High Commission with proof of the applicants wages / salary. If self-employed, a letter from the solicitor, the accountant or the bank manager of the applicant will be sufficient. If a student in the country of the Consulate, an original letter from the school or University addressed to the Cyprus Consulate confirming the status / attendance and the duration of the course.
Bank guarantee letter from the host, throughout a visitor’s stay in Cyprus for the period of one year and stamped by the Migration Department in Nicosia, so as to cover the possible cost of repatriation. bank guarantee letters are issued for the amount of:
- €854 for visitors from Sri Lanka, the Philippines, China, and other Asian countries
- €515 for visitors from the CIS, and other Eastern Europe countries.
- €341 for visitors from Syria, Lebanon, Jordan, Egypt and other Middle East countries.

Please note that:
Securing a tourist visa from the High Commission does not guarantee an automatic entry into Cyprus. The Migration Authorities at the airport reserve the right to deny entry even to visa holders.

The following documents should be presented in order to support your visa application.
- Application form completed and signed by the applicant. If the applicant is a minor, the visa application must be signed by both parents/legal guardians.
- Cover latter.
- Employment letter
- 2 passport-sized photos, signed on the back, not older than 6 months (35mm x 45mm) in color, with the face covering 70-80% of the height of the photo and without glasses.
- Original passport + photocopy of passport + Old Passports (If any)
- Affidavit form parents (for children under the age of 18)
- Flight itinerary (2 way)
- Proof of accommodation – Hotel reservations, rental of holiday home- If the applicant intends to stay with a family member or a friend, proof of sponsorship and/or private accommodation from the host.
- 2 passport photos
- Original Bank statement of the last three months with Stamp and signed.
- Photocopy of Tax Declaration for the last three years
- Letter from the employer / letter of explanation from the applicant
- Invitation letter in case of business trip
- Invitation letter from host in case of visit to family and friends
- Bank Guarantee from the host stamped by the Migration Department
- Assumption of Responsibility from the host notarized
- Medical travel insurance (coverage of at least €30.000), valid for the entire duration of stay in Cyprus
- Assumption of responsibility to host form. The form must be completed by the host and certified by a notary public.
- If applicant has a valid, multiple entries Schengen visa on his/her passport, he/she can enter Cyprus without a visa.

Photo Specifications
Two [2] photographs of passport style and size [35 x 45 mm] for all applicants, including minors. Your photograph must be:
- COLOR PHOTO (passport-size 35mm x 40mm)
- Photograph without specs.
- Face 70-80% of the height of the photo.
- taken without headgear
- head coverings and hats are only acceptable due to religious beliefs, and even then, may not cover any portion of the applicant's face
- taken against a plain, evenly lit and light background.

- Please note that applicants from Nepal will be charged a mandatory two-way international courier fee of NPR 3,736, which will be collected at the visa application center during the application process.
- Additionally, visa fees are to be paid via Demand Draft in favor of "Cyprus High Commission". For convenience, a bank counter is available at the VFS office to assist applicants in preparing the demand draft, with an additional service charge of NPR 1,375.

If applicant has a valid, multiple entries Schengen visa on his/her passport, he/she can enter Cyprus without a visa.

The following documents should be presented in order to support your visa application.
- Application form completed and signed by the applicant. If the applicant is a minor, the visa application must be signed by both parents/legal guardians.
- Cover latter.
- Employment letter
- 2 passport-sized photos, signed on the back, not older than 6 months (35mm x 45mm) in color, with the face covering 70-80% of the height of the photo and without glasses.
- Original passport + photocopy of passport + Old Passports (If any)
- Affidavit form parents (for children under the age of 18)
- Flight itinerary (2 way)
- Proof of accommodation – Hotel reservations, rental of holiday home- If the applicant intends to stay with a family member or a friend, proof of sponsorship and/or private accommodation from the host.
- 2 passport photos
- Original Bank statement of the last three months with Stamp and signed.
- Photocopy of Tax Declaration for the last three years
- Letter from the employer / letter of explanation from the applicant
- Invitation letter in case of business trip
- Invitation letter from host in case of visit to family and friends
- Bank Guarantee from the host stamped by the Migration Department
- Assumption of Responsibility from the host notarized
- Medical travel insurance (coverage of at least €30.000), valid for the entire duration of stay in Cyprus
- Assumption of responsibility to host form. The form must be completed by the host and certified by a notary public.
- If applicant has a valid, multiple entries Schengen visa on his/her passport, he/she can enter Cyprus without a visa.

Airport Transit

Overview
This visa entitles aliens who are required to have such a visa to pass through the international transit area of Cypriot airports without actually entering the national territory of Cyprus, during a stop-over or transfer between two stages of an international flight. The requirement to have this visa is an exception to the general right to transit without a visa through Cyprus.

Documents Required

- 2 passport photos + photos of children when included on parents’ passport.
- Original passport + photocopy of passport + Old Passports (If any)
- Air ticket and visa for onward destination country
- Bank Statement of last three (3) months
- Photocopy of Tax Declaration for the last three years
- Under age children (below 18), that intend to enter Cyprus unaccompanied, should present a statement signed by both parents and stamped by the mayor of their area. If children are accompanied by one parent only, the authorization of the other parent is required.
If applicant has a valid, double and/or multiple entries Schengen visa on his/her passport, he/she can enter Cyprus without a visa.
Domestic staff (housekeepers, nannies, drivers etc) that accompanies their employer should present a valid residence and work permit to India.
Nationals from the countries listed in the table below (as well as persons who are not nationals of those countries, but who possess travel documents issued by the authorities of those countries) are required to possess this type of visa.

Long Stay Visa
The procedure for granting Long term permits is governed by the Foreign and Migration Law and by decisions of the Council of Ministers and of the Parliamentary Committee responsible for matters pertaining to foreigners.
