Short Term Visa
"NEW ONLINE VISA APPLICATION: From the 01 July 2019, you should fill in your visa application and pay the application fee online using https://applyvisa.um.dk/. After you have applied and paid the visa fee online, you must print and sign the cover letter from ApplyVisa and hand in supporting documents and supply biometrics at the Visa Application Centre”
(For a maximum stay of 90 days per 6 months)
If you wish to visit Denmark for a short period of time, you must obtain a visa prior to entry if you come from a country with a visa requirement for entering these countries.
Short Stay visas allow the holder to transit through or remain in Schengen States for a maximum period of three months (90 days) within a period of six months (180 days) from the entry date into the Schengen Area.
Long Term Visa
“From 01 July 2019, The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Denmark including all Danish diplomatic missions are introducing online payment of the embassy fee for residence or work permit.
The embassy fee should be paid online using this link https://dys.um.dk/permit/
The receipt for the payment should be submitted at the Danish Visa Application Centre (VFS) when you hand in your passport, relevant documentation and supply biometrics. Please note that in R/W permit cases there are three fees to be paid :
- The fee to either The Danish Immigration Service or The Danish Agency for International Recruitment and Integration (SIRI),
- the fee to the Danish embassy (using the link https://dys.um.dk/permit/) and
- the fee to the Danish Visa Application Centre (VFS).”

Documents Required for residence or work permit
Please notice that a fee has to be paid to the Danish Immigration Service prior to applying. The fees can be seen on the following link: http://www.nyidanmark.dk/en-us/coming_to_dk/fee/about_fees/about_fees.html .Please make sure to pay the EXACT stated amount.
Important: Please note that if you have submitted your application directly to DIS, for processing of your application, you will have to provide the case ID number of the payment made.
DIS will not be able to process your application in case you do not provide the above-mentioned information.

Tourist

Overview
This visa is solely for the purpose of leisure travel, including vacationing, cruising, sightseeing and other recreational activities. If the applicant during any portion of their visit intends to engage in business and/or official duties, he/she must refer to other relevant visa categories.
Possession of a visa does not confer an automatic right of entry. Holders of a visa are requested to present proof that they fulfil the entry conditions at the external border, as provided for in Article 5 of the Visa Code.

Photo Specifications
Size of photograph for visa applications
After the instalment of a new system for scanning biometrics, including photographs for visa application, it is now possible to lodge a photograph of size 35 x 45 mm. Length of the head should not exceed 30 to 36 mm in length from chin to top of hair.
The photograph must still be in color with white background.
Danish Visa Application Centre has been instructed by Danish mission to inform applicants that the visa application is not acceptable if the photograph does not comply with the above format.
Applicants may therefore obtain a new photograph that meets all requirements before The Danish Visa Application Centre can receive the application.

Bona fide cases (Approved by the Embassy) – normally 15 calendar days,see the processing time in https://www.nyidanmark.dk/en-GB/You-are-waiting-for-an-answer/Short-stay-visa for a fully completed application with proper documentation which is handed in at the VFS Visa Application Centre. Please hand in your application well in advance during peak season.
Cases for Danish Immigration Service (DIS) – See the processing time in https://www.nyidanmark.dk/en-GB/Words-and-concepts/US/Diverse-US/Application-processing-times-in-the-Danish-Immigration-Service and add 3-5 working days of processing time at the Embassy.
The processing period may be extended up to a maximum of 30 calendar days in individual cases, notably if further scrutiny of the application is needed or in cases of representation where the authorities of the represented Schengen State are consulted.
Exceptionally, when additional documentation is needed in specific cases, the period may be extended up to a maximum of 60 calendar days.
Citizens of certain countries or categories of certain citizens are subject to prior consultation in one or more Schengen countries before a visa may be issued. The processing time in these cases will usually be 10-12 days as a minimum. See list of these nationalities and categories of persons (annex 16 to the Visa code Handbook).
Kindly note that if you are applying from VFS in Jeddah/Al Khobar, it will take additional 48 hours due to logistics
