Short Term Visa
(For a maximum stay of 90 days per 6 months)
If you wish to visit Denmark for a short period of time, you must obtain a visa prior to your arrival if you come from a country listed here.
Short Stay visas allow the holder to transit through or remain in Schengen States for a maximum period of three months (90 days) within a period of six months (180 days) from the entry date into the Schengen Area.
Incomplete, unclear or unsigned applications will not be accepted.
If the visit involves two or more Schengen countries, the Consulate General responsible for the issuance of the visa will be:
- The Consulate General of the country in which the traveler is going to stay the longest.
If the traveler is to stay the same time in different Schengen countries, the Consulate General of the country of first entry.
Tourism

Overview
This visa is solely for the purpose of leisure travel including vacationing, cruising, sightseeing and other recreational activities. If during any portion of their visit to Denmark the applicant intends to engage in business, or official duties he/she must refer to other relevant visa categories.
Incomplete, unclear or unsigned applications will not be accepted.
If the visit involves two or more Schengen countries, the Consulate General responsible for the issuance of the visa will be:
- The Consulate General of the country in which the traveler is going to stay the longest.
If the traveler is to stay the same time in different Schengen countries, the Consulate General of the country of first entry.

- Please note Applicants applying outside Cairo need to pay mandatory courier charges which is Euro 5 (290 EGP) it includes one-way courier charges pertaining to the transfer of visa applications from Cairo back to regional VFS Visa Application Centers across Egypt.
The service fee and additional services at The Visa Application Centre are to be paid only in EGP.
Applicants who submit their applications at the Visa Application Centre must pay the Value-Added Services fee either in cash or by credit/debit card, in Egyptian pounds.

Documents Required
For minors (under the age of 18), application form must be signed by both parents/legal guardians. Copies of both parents’ passports are required with NOC letter.
Basic requirements:
- Completed application form plus all the necessary documents must be submitted personally by the applicant.
- All documents should be submitted in English or Danish. Any translations should be done by a legal translator.

As per MFA instruction's, Applicants are no longer required to submit physical photo if they visit the VAC and enrol their biometrics.
- copy of the passport : As per MFA’s instruction , Applicants are no longer required to submit a copy of their current passport. This requirement is applicable only for previous/old passports, where relevant.
- Minors travelling without their parents/legal guardian: original authorization signed by their parents/legal guardian in front of a visa officer and copy of passport(s) of parents/legal guardian.
- In the case of minors (under the age of 18): If applying with parents, a birth certificate must be presented. In the current case without one of the parents: A birth certificate must be presented.
- Please notice: The passport and residence visa must be valid for a minimum of three months after the return from the Schengen States. Travel documents and residence visa must be valid minimum six months after the return from the Schengen States.
- The visa fee should be paid online. The fee is non-refundable.
- One recently taken passport size photo, 3,5 x 4,5cm colored photograph taken close up, on a white background. The photograph will not be accepted if it is more than 6 months old.
- Travel Medical Insurance: covering all expenses related to urgent medical necessities and/or hospital admission, including the forced return to their homeland for medical reasons. The insurance, with the minimum coverage of EURO 30.000, - must be valid for all Schengen States.

Official company letter from sponsor/employer containing the following information:
- Name/address and telephone no. of sponsor/employer
- Name, nationality and passport no. of applicant
- Date of joining
- Applicant’s monthly salary
- Reasons for applicant’s visit
- Expected date of arrival in Denmark plus duration of stay
- Confirmation that the applicant will return to the Egypt to resume duties on a certain date
- Name, designation and signature of person responsible for issuance of the company letter
- In case of medical visits, information about the treatments in Denmark must be included (letter from doctor) and documentation for a prepaid fee for the treatments must be shown.
- Flight reservation to be shown upon submission. Original return ticket must be shown upon collection of the visa. E-tickets are accepted.
- Hotel reservation/accommodation should be submitted.
- Bank statements for the past six months or other verifiable evidence of sufficient means of subsistence during intended stay.
- Children, who are attending school, must produce a confirmation of registration for the academic years, including information about the grade.
- Proof of relationship if traveling with children.

Photo Specifications
Size of photograph for visa applications
After the instalment of a new system for scanning biometrics, including photographs for visa application, it is now possible to lodge a photograph of size 35 x 45 mm. Length of the head should not exceed 30 to 36 mm in length from chin to top of hair.
The photograph must still be in color with bright background.
Danish Visa Application Centre has been instructed by Danish mission to inform applicants that the visa application is not acceptable if the photograph does not comply with the above format.
Applicants may therefore obtain a new photograph that meets all requirements before The Danish Visa Application Centre can receive the application.

Processing Time
The Danish mission has 15 days to make a decision on your visa application from the date the mission receives your passport, application and biometrics. In some cases, the processing time can be extended to 45 days when further case processing is needed
Citizens of certain countries or categories of certain citizens are subject to prior consultation in one or more Schengen countries before a visa may be issued. See list of these nationalities and categories of persons in annex 16 to the visa code handbook: Annex 16, English version

Overview
Application is applicable in case you are travelling for business. This visa is given for a travel period of less than 90 days.

In addition to the above please bring the following as mentioned below:
- Copies of previous Schengen visas
- Copies of any other valid visas such as USA and UK visas

Passport :
- current passport must contain at least two blank pages ( one of them shouldn’t have a visa in the other side)
- The passport should be valid for at least 3 months after return from the planned trip.
- Previous passport covering the last 7 years is mandatory
- Movement certificate is required in these cases:
- First traveler schengen
- The passports not covering the last 7 years.
- If there is a gap between the current and the previous passport more than 3 months.

Validity of passport and residence permit
Please notice: The passport and residence visa must be valid for a minimum of three months after the return from the Schengen States. Travel documents and residence visa must be valid minimum six months after the return from the Schengen States.

Photograph
One recently taken passport size photo, 3,5 x 4,5cm coloured photograph taken close up, on a light background. If wearing a veil, features nose, eyes and forehead must be visible.

Travel and Medical Insurance
Travel & Medical Insurance must cover all expenses related to urgent medical necessities and/or hospital admission, including the forced return to their homeland for medical reasons. The insurance, with the minimum coverage of EURO 30.000, - must be valid for all Schengen States.

Official company letter from sponsor/employer
The official company containing the following information:
- Name/address and telephone no. of sponsor/employer
- Name, nationality and passport no. of applicant
- Date of joining
- Applicant’s monthly salary
- Reasons for applicant’s visit
- Expected date of arrival in Denmark plus duration of stay
- Confirmation of financial undertake
- Confirmation that the applicant will return to the Egypt to resume duties on a certain date
- Name, designation and signature of the person responsible for issuance of the company letter
- Documentation for what the applicant is buying from or selling to the Danish company
- For multiple entry visa it should be requested by the company

Invitation letter
The applicant should present a copy of the invitation. The invitation letter should state the following information:
- Name, address and contact information of the company inviting
- Name, nationality and passport no. of applicant
- Reasons for applicant’s visit
- Expected date of arrival in Denmark plus duration of stay
- Information about how the Danish company established contact with the local company, what kind of products the Danish company are trading in and what they intend to buy or sell

Official delegation/mission
Letter issued by the authority(-ies) concerned confirming identity of the applicant(s), purpose of the journey (meetings, consultations, negotiations or events held by intergovernmental organizations), period of intended stay and accommodation details.
- Bank statements for the past six months or other verifiable evidence of sufficient means of subsistence during intended stay.

Study or training purposes for a stay shorter than 90 days
- A certificate of enrolment at an educational establishment for the purposes of attending vocational or theoretical courses within the framework of basic and further training;
- Student cards or certificates of the courses to be attended.

Flight reservation
Flight reservation should be shown upon submission. Original return ticket must be shown upon collection of the visa. E-tickets are accepted.

Hotel reservation/accommodation for all nights in the Schengen area

Copy of reference’s passport and residence permit if the reference is not a Danish citizen. Proof of relationship with reference (marriage certificate, birth certificates etc.)
- In case of medical visits, information about the treatments in Denmark must be included (letter from doctor) and documentation for a prepaid fee for the treatments must be shown.

For persons applying for Cultural / Sports/Religious events and film crews (stay not more than 90 days per 6 months).
Incomplete, unclear or unsigned applications will not be accepted.
If the visit involves two or more Schengen countries, the Consulate General responsible for the issuance of the visa will be:
- The Consulate General of the country in which the traveler is going to stay the longest.
- If the traveler is to stay the same time in different Schengen countries, the Consulate General of the country of first entry.

Size of photograph for visa applications
After the instalment of a new system for scanning biometrics, including photographs for visa application, it is now possible to lodge a photograph of size 35 x 45 mm. Length of the head should not exceed 30 to 36 mm in length from chin to top of hair.
The photograph must still be in color with bright background.
Danish Visa Application Centre has been instructed by Danish mission to inform applicants that the visa application is not acceptable if the photograph does not comply with the above format.
Applicants may therefore obtain a new photograph that meets all requirements before The Danish Visa Application Centre can receive the application.
As per MFA instruction's, Applicants are no longer required to submit physical photo if they visit the VAC and enrol their biometrics.

Processing Time
The Danish mission has 15 days to make a decision on your visa application from the date the mission receives your passport, application and biometrics. In some cases, the processing time can be extended to 45 days when further case processing is needed

Overview
Application is applicable in case you are travelling for business and you are working for a company from red carpet companies. This visa is given for a travel period of less than 90 days.
Applicants of Red Companies can apply at the visa application center without any prior appointments every Sunday to Thursday from 8:30 am to 10 :30 am

Documents Required
Business requirements
All documents should be submitted in English or Danish. Any translations should be done by a legal translator.

- copy of the passport : As per MFA’s instruction , Applicants are no longer required to submit a copy of their current passport. This requirement is applicable only for previous/old passports, where relevant.

Application form
Signed cover letter from Visa Self Service or completed application form (typed or written in block letters) plus all the necessary documents must be submitted personally by the applicant.

Original passport & color photocopy of only the passport bio pages and residence visa page.
In addition to the above please bring the following as mentioned below:
- Copies of previous Schengen visas
- Copies of any other valid visas such as USA and UK visas

Passport :
- current passport must contain at least two blank pages ( one of them shouldn’t have a visa in the other side)
- The passport should be valid for at least 3 months after return from the planned trip.
- Previous passport covering the last 7 years is mandatory
- Movement certificate is required in these cases:
- First traveler schengen
- The passports not covering the last 7 years.
- If there is a gap between the current and the previous passport more than 3 months.

Validity of passport and residence permit
Please notice: The passport and residence visa must be valid for a minimum of three months after the return from the Schengen States. Travel documents and residence visa must be valid minimum six months after the return from the Schengen States.

Photograph
One recently taken passport size photo, 3,5 x 4,5cm coloured photograph taken close up, on a light background. If wearing a veil, features nose, eyes and forehead must be visible.

Travel and Medical Insurance
Travel & Medical Insurance must cover all expenses related to urgent medical necessities and/or hospital admission, including the forced return to their homeland for medical reasons. The insurance, with the minimum coverage of EURO 30.000, - must be valid for all Schengen States.

Official company letter from sponsor/employer
The official company containing the following information:
- Name/address and telephone no. of sponsor/employer
- Name, nationality and passport no. of applicant
- Date of joining
- Applicant’s monthly salary
- Reasons for applicant’s visit
- Expected date of arrival in Denmark plus duration of stay
- Confirmation of financial undertake
- Confirmation that the applicant will return to the Egypt to resume duties on a certain date
- Name, designation and signature of the person responsible for issuance of the company letter
- Documentation for what the applicant is buying from or selling to the Danish company
- For multiple entry visa it should be requested by the company

Invitation letter
The applicant should present a copy of the invitation. The invitation letter should state the following information:
- Name, address and contact information of the company inviting
- Name, nationality and passport no. of applicant
- Reasons for applicant’s visit
- Expected date of arrival in Denmark plus duration of stay
- Information about how the Danish company established contact with the local company, what kind of products the Danish company are trading in and what they intend to buy or sell

Official delegation/mission
Letter issued by the authority(-ies) concerned confirming identity of the applicant(s), purpose of the journey (meetings, consultations, negotiations or events held by intergovernmental organizations), period of intended stay and accommodation details.
- Bank statements for the past six months or other verifiable evidence of sufficient means of subsistence during intended stay.

Study or training purposes for a stay shorter than 90 days
- A certificate of enrolment at an educational establishment for the purposes of attending vocational or theoretical courses within the framework of basic and further training;
- Student cards or certificates of the courses to be attended.
