Tourism

Overview
This category of visa caters for people wishing to visit Denmark for a period maximum 90 days maximum for tourism purposes and does not have a guarantor/host in Denmark.
Applicant will have to provide evidence that he/she falls under this category.
If you plan a short-term visit to Denmark you need to apply for a Schengen Visa. A Schengen Visa will normally allow you to travel in all Schengen member countries, but Denmark is only able grant visas in cases where Denmark is the main destination, meaning the place you will spend most of your time.
Because of the situation in Palestine it is very difficult for Palestinians to get a tourist visa to Schengen.

Photo Specifications
Size of photograph for visa applications
After the instalment of a new system for scanning biometrics, including photographs for visa application, it is now possible to lodge a photograph of size 35 x 45 mm. Length of the head should not exceed 30 to 36 mm in length from chin to top of hair.
The photograph must still be in color with bright background.
Danish Visa Application Centre has been instructed by Danish mission to inform applicants that the visa application is not acceptable if the photograph does not comply with the above format.
Applicants may therefore obtain a new photograph that meets all requirements before The Danish Visa Application Centre can receive the application.

Due to a current high demand in visa applications for Denmark and Iceland, applicants must expect a longer processing time.
The current processing time in visa cases is 45 days (subject to change). Please be aware that the mission is working hard on bringing down the processing time for all applications and is aware of the inconvenience this may cause. Business applications are prioritized.
The Danish Mission recommends that you do not buy a plane ticket before your visa has been approved.
Citizens of certain countries or categories of certain citizens are subject to prior consultation in one or more Schengen countries before a visa may be issued. See list of these nationalities and categories of persons in annex 16 to the visa code handbook: Annex 16, English version.

Business/Official visit

A business visa is granted for those who are visiting Denmark for business/conference or meetings.
Applicant will have to provide evidence that he/she falls under this category.

What is the Red Carpet Program?
The Red Carpet Program introduces simplified procedures for obtaining Danish Schengen visas for applicants who travel regularly to Denmark for business purposes. The aim is to assist non Danish companies, organisations, NGO’s etc. that have business relations with a Danish company or organisation.*
The Red Carpet Program is open to private and public companies or organisations abroad provided they meet the requirements mentioned on the local Danish embassy’s website. The accreditation of a company or organization must have taken place before an employee/associate can benefit from the Red Carpet Program.
* Prior approval for Danish companies located in Denmark and other Danish organisations wishing to host foreign visitors who require a visa to Denmark please visit Danish Immigration Services web site.

Who can be enrolled in the Red Carpet Program?
The following are examples of entities that may be offered an accreditation:*
- Well-established local subsidiaries of Danish companies
- Well-established local companies with a subsidiary in Denmark
- Companies that regularly sends employees to Denmark
- A local company with an exclusive partnership with a Danish company
- A local company whose employees need to travel frequently to Denmark for business
- Local companies with an interest in investing in Denmark
- Local institutions (NGO’s, travel agencies etc.) which cooperate closely with similar Danish institutions
* The Danish Mission alone decides whether or not a company qualifies.

What does the Red Carpet Program offer?
The RCP offers the following benefits for applicants that are included in the program:
- Decision within three working days.*
- Reduced documentation requirements**
- No need to apply in person.
- No need for appointment.
- Multiple entry visas (minimum one year).
* Citizens of certain countries or categories of certain citizens are subject to prior consultation in one or more Schengen countries before a visa may be issued. The processing time in these cases will usually be 10-12 days
** More documentation may always be required if needed for the case processing
Note: Applicants without an agreement will still be processed within 15 days.

How to be accredited?
The accreditation approval is handled and decided by the local Danish Mission. The local Mission will hand out an agreement form to be filled out by the company.
The company/organisation must inform of the following:

- Contact information, address, web etc.
- Point of contact
- Registration no.
- Sector/industry
- Date of establishment
- Number of employees
- Corporate form/legal structure
- Annual report available (Yes/No)
- Turnover (the last two years) Business partner in Denmark

- The business partner in Denmark must forward a confirmation letter to the Danish Mission.

Processing Time
Applications shall be decided on within 15 calendar days of the date of the receiving of an (admissible) application at the Danish Representative Office in Ramallah. That period may be extended up to a maximum of 30 calendar days e.g. if the application is submitted to the Danish immigration service. Exceptionally, when additional documentation is needed in specific cases, the period may be extended up to a maximum of 60 days.
Citizens of certain countries or categories of certain citizens are subject to prior consultation in one or more Schengen countries before a visa may be issued. The processing time in these cases will usually be 10-12 days as a minimum.

Collection of the processed passports from the VFS Denmark Visa Application Centre can be done between 08:30 – 16:00, Sunday-Thursday. Applicants can instantly track the status of their application online by clicking on Track your Application. There will be no need to follow up with the Consulate general of Denmark in Jerusalem or the helpline to ascertain when the passport will be returned.

Transit Visa

Overview
Apart from the so called short-term or travel visas there are two other types of Schengen visas: airport transit visa or transit visa
The applicant will have to provide evidence that he/she falls under this category.
Airport transit visa
Palestinian citizens are not subject to an airport transit visa requirement.
An airport transit visa allows holders to pass through the international zone of an airport of a Schengen member state without access to the national territory of the Schengen member state. The list of third countries whose nationals must hold an airport transit visa when passing through the international transit areas of airports situated on the territory of the Member States is set out in Annex 7A
Transit visa
A transit visa enables applicants to pass through the territory of one or more Schengen member states on their way to another country outside the Schengen area.

How to appeal (short stay visa – type C)
Appeal for Danish Visa Application – Short Stay (Visa Type C)
Danish embassies and consulates occasionally reject visa applications. These decisions can be appealed to the Danish Immigration Service (newtodenmark.dk).
Embassies and consulates can also choose to present an application to the Danish Immigration Service. Long stay Visa (Type D)
A long-stay “D” visa allows its holder to enter and stay in Denmark for more than 3 months (more than 90 days).

Photo Specifications
Size of photograph for visa applications
After the instalment of a new system for scanning biometrics, including photographs for visa application, it is now possible to lodge a photograph of size 35 x 45 mm. Length of the head should not exceed 30 to 36 mm in length from chin to top of hair.
The photograph must still be in color with bright background.
Danish Visa Application Centre has been instructed by Danish mission to inform applicants that the visa application is not acceptable if the photograph does not comply with the above format.
Applicants may therefore obtain a new photograph that meets all requirements before The Danish Visa Application Centre can receive the application.
