For individuals traveling to Hungary for leisure, sightseeing, or vacations. The applicant must provide proof of accommodation, financial means, and a return ticket. Travel insurance covering the entire stay is required.
If you are planning a short visit to Hungary for up to 90 days or less and you do not have the nationality of one of the countries of the European Economic Area (EEA), you may need to apply for a Schengen visa. Hungary is one of the 26 European countries forming the Schengen Area which have no border controls between them.

- No more than 6-months old
- 35-40mm in width
- Close up of your head and top of your shoulders so that your face takes up 70 -80% of the photograph
- In sharp focus and clear
- Of high quality with no ink marks or creases

- Show you looking directly at the camera
- Show your skin tones naturally
- Have appropriate brightness and contrast
- Be printed on high quality paper, and at high resolution Photographs taken with a digital camera must be high quality colour and printed on photo-quality paper.
Style and lighting

- Be colour neutral
- Show your eyes open and clearly visible-no hair across your eyes
- Show you facing square on to the camera, not looking over one shoulder (portrait style) or tilted, and showing both edges of your face clearly
- Be taken with a plain light-coloured background
- Be taken with uniform lighting and not show shadows or flash reflections on your face and no red eye
Glasses and head covers

If you wear glasses :
- Be colour neutral
- The photograph must show your eyes clearly with no flash reflection off the glasses, and no tinted lenses (if possible, avoid heavy frames - wear lighter framed glasses if you have them)
- Make sure that the frames do not cover any part of your eyes.

- Are not permitted except for religious reasons, but your facial features from bottom of chin to top of forehead and both edges of your face must be clearly shown.

For his stay in Germany, the applicant must haveat least 861 euros permonth. When you submit your visa application, you must certify that you have financial means for at least one year, i.e. at least EUR 10 332 (e.g. by means of a blocked account or a formal declaration of support).
In case of funding through a blocked account: the blocked account must be opened BEFORE applying for a visa. When submitting the visa application, only the official confirmation of the opening of the account,with indication of the total amount paid and the amount availablemonthly, is accepted. A confirmation that does not mention these amounts is not enough.

Proof of these funds must be provided in advance when the application is lodged. If the applicant does not receive a salary immediately after entering the territory or if the salary received is less than a net monthly amount of EUR 818, he must justify separately from the missing monthly amount, for example by a blocked account.
If the applicant finances his stay himself, he must have a monthly amount of at least EUR 947 (e.g. through a blocked account).
