Overview
If you are planning a short visit to Lithuania for up to 90 days or less and you do not have the nationality of one of the countries of the European Economic Area (EEA), you may need to apply for a Schengen visa. Lithuania is one of the 26 European countries forming the Schengen Area which have no border controls between them. These countries also issue a common visa, the Schengen visa for a stay of up to 90 days in any period of 180 days. Please note that the following essentials must be met by all applicants submitting their applications for visa.
- Passport should have at least two blank pages.
- Passport should be valid for at least 3 months from the date on which the applicant intends to leave the SCHENGEN territory, or, in the case of multiple journeys the date on which the applicant intends to leave it for the last time
- Applications are only accepted within 6 months of the requested date of arrival
- Relevant Forms & Photograph: Fully completed application form appropriate to the type of visa.
- Application will be accepted only until 20 days (excluding Visa Application Center handling time) before the date of travel.
The collection of passports at the Visa Application Center can be done by:
- The applicant himself /herself.
- A representative carrying a photo id of himself/herself and an authority letter from the applicant.
- The applicant can request Courier services on the submission day.
IMPORTANT
Applications can be lodged earliest Six (6) months before the planned trip.
Visas are not issued on the day of the application and may take up to 4 weeks, notably when further scrutiny of the application is needed or in cases of representation where the authorities of the represented Member State are consulted. Exceptionally, when additional documentation is needed in specific cases, the period for the decision may be extended up to a maximum of 60 calendar days.
Holders of Schengen visas are still subject to immigration control at the point of entry and are not guaranteed entry into any of the Schengen countries.

Schengen Visa Application Requirements (Lithuania)
- Application Form: Completed Schengen visa application form through
- Photograph: One recent photo, glued to the form (not stapled).
- Travel Documents:
- Flight reservations showing the applicant’s name.
- Accommodation reservations with the applicant’s name.
- Insurance: Proof of travel insurance covering the entire stay in the Schengen area.
- For student: school registration.
- For employees: certificate of employment stating recruitment date, position, and salary.
- For self employed: company registration and tax card.
- Bank statement for the last 6 months. For minors, a parent’s bank statement.
- First time Applicants: Shahadat at Taharrukat translated into English.
- Language of Documents: All documents must be in English or Lithuanian, or accompanied by an official translation. Documents originally issued in English do not require translation.
- For Applicants Under 18:
- Original birth certificate translated into English.
- For Minors travelling alone: notarized certificate confirming the consent of both parents or legal guardian(s) to the minor’s travel. Copies of the parents’ or legal guardian(s)’ passports.
- For Minors travelling with one parent or legal guardian: notarized certificate confirming the consent of the non-accompanying parent or legal guardian to the minor’s travel. Copy of the parent or legal guardian’s passport . or legal guardian shall be signed in front of VFSGlobal agent,
- in case of one guardian is residing in another country, he/she should visit the nearest Lithuanian /Egyptian Embassy and sign the consent.
Travel Rules for Lithuania
- If Lithuania is not the sole destination, the following conditions must be met:
- Applicant must spend more days in Lithuania than in any other Schengen country.
- Applicant spends an equal number of days in Lithuania and another country, Lithuania must be the first destination.
- If these conditions are not satisfied, the application will not be accepted.
- Applicants visiting multiple countries must provide a detailed travel itinerary.

Photo Specifications
Please provide one recent photographs (not more than 6 months old) of yourself. The photographs should be in color and:
- Size of Photo is 5mm X 4.5mm
- Taken against a light background (white or off-white) so that features are distinguishable and contrast against the background
- Clear share quality and with the face in focus.
- Printed on normal photographic paper (camera print).
- Full face, non-smiling 90% of the photo is the head of applicant (without sunglasses, a hat/cap or other head covering, unless the applicant wears such items because of their religious belief or ethnic background).
- Please stick the Photograph on the Visa Application Form.
Note: Please follow these instructions carefully. If photographs presented do not meet these requirements your application will be considered incomplete.

Processing Time
Note: The processing time for assessment of a Schengen visa varies accordingly to the nationality of the applicant and the period of the year in which the application is given. The regular visa processing time is 15 days upon completion of the application, the processing time may be extended to 30 or even 60 days calendar days, in cases that require a detailed assessment.
Applicant’s lack of travel plan will not fall on Embassy / Representative Office priority to process your visa. It is advisable to plan your travel well in advance to avoid any inconvenience.

Overview

Documents Required for Business Purposes:
- Official Invitation from the Inviting Company
Must be issued on company letterhead, stamped, and signed, and should include:
- Full address and contact details of the company
- Nature of the business
- Name and position of the authorized signatory
- Purpose and duration of the visit
- Details of who will cover travel and living expenses
- Confirmation of whether the sponsor provides a financial guarantee for the applicant’s return to Egypt
- Validated Invitation Letter
An invitation letter from the inviting company must be certified by the competent local authorities.
Note: Certain Member States (Austria, Finland, Hungary, Italy, Latvia, Poland, Portugal, Slovakia, Slovenia, and Sweden) require a specific form for the invitation letter. Please consult the website of the relevant Member State for further details.

- Note: Movement certificate is not required for Visiting Family and Friends.

- For self employed: company registration and tax card.
- Bank statement for the last 6 months. For minors, a parent’s bank statement.
- First time Applicants: Shahadat at Taharrukat translated into English.
- Language of Documents: All documents must be in English or Lithuanian, or accompanied by an official translation. Documents originally issued in English do not require translation.
- For Applicants Under 18:
- Original birth certificate translated into English.
- For Minors travelling alone: notarized certificate confirming the consent of both parents or legal guardian(s) to the minor’s travel. Copies of the parents’ or legal guardian(s)’ passports.
- For Minors travelling with one parent or legal guardian: notarized certificate confirming the consent of the non-accompanying parent or legal guardian to the minor’s travel. Copy of the parent or legal guardian’s passport . or legal guardian shall be signed in front of VFS Global agent,
- in case of one guardian is residing in another country, he/she should visit the nearest Lithuanian /Egyptian Embassy and sign the consent.
- Documents required for Sports:
- List of supporting documents to be submitted by applicants travelling for the purpose of cultural/sports events
- For Minors: Student card + original letter of the school mentioning: the full address, telephone number of the school, permission for absence, name and function of the person giving permission.
- Original letter of invitation from the organizer of the event in the Member State of destination
- If applicable: letter of the institution sending the concerned applicant.
- If Lithuania is not the sole destination, the following conditions must be met:
- Applicant must spend more days in Lithuania than in any other Schengen country.
- Applicant spends an equal number of days in Lithuania and another country, Lithuania must be the first destination.
- If these conditions are not satisfied, the application will not be accepted.
- Applicants visiting multiple countries must provide a detailed travel itinerary.

Photo Specifications
Please provide one recent photographs (not more than 6 months old) of yourself. The photographs should be in color and:
- Size of Photo is 5mm X 4.5mm
- Taken against a light background (white or off-white) so that features are distinguishable and contrast against the background
- Clear share quality and with the face in focus.
- Printed on normal photographic paper (camera print).
- Full face, non-smiling 90% of the photo is the head of applicant (without sunglasses, a hat/cap or other head covering, unless the applicant wears such items because of their religious belief or ethnic background).
- Please stick the Photograph on the Visa Application Form.

Processing Time
Note: The processing time for assessment of a Schengen visa varies accordingly to the nationality of the applicant and the period of the year in which the application is given. The regular visa processing time is 15 days upon completion of the application, the processing time may be extended to 30 or even 60 days calendar days, in cases that require a detailed assessment.
Applicant’s lack of travel plan will not fall on Embassy / Representative Office priority to process your visa. It is advisable to plan your travel well in advance to avoid any inconvenience.

National Visa ( Type D )

Overview
If you are planning a short visit to Lithuania for more than 90 days or less and you do not have the nationality of one of the countries of the European Economic Area (EEA), you may need to apply for a National visa.
An alien in possession of a national visa (D) may enter the Republic of Lithuania and stay in it for the period indicated in the visa. A national visa (D) may be issued for one or several entries (single entry and multiple entry visa). A national visa is issued for a period up to one year.
A single entry national visa (D) shall be issued to an alien who has been granted a temporary or permanent residence permit in the Republic of Lithuania. Additional information can be found at www.migracija.lt.
A multiple entry national visa (D) shall be issued to:
- to an alien who is a student arriving in the Republic of Lithuania for studies according to international student exchange programmes or the student exchange programmes drawn up by a higher education establishment operating in the Republic of Lithuania;
- to an alien who is a student arriving in the Republic of Lithuania to the consecutive full-time studies a higher education establishment operating in the Republic of Lithuania;
- to an alien who is a foreign professional sportsman or coach coming to the Republic of Lithuania to undertake sports-related activities;
- to an alien who is an artist coming to the Republic of Lithuania to undertake professional activities;
- to an alien coming to work in the Republic of Lithuania and holding a work permit in the Republic of Lithuania (a work permit in the Republic of Lithuania may be issued by the Lithuanian Labour Exchange at the Ministry of Social Security and Labour of the Republic of Lithuania);
- for an alien, who is coming to the Republic of Lithuania to do a job requiring high professional qualification and has a resolution issued by the Lithuanian Labour Exchange evidencing that his job requiring high professional qualification meets the needs of the Lithuanian labour market, as well as for a family member travelling together with the alien;
- to an alien who is a seafarer arriving to a ship flying the flag of the Republic of Lithuania;
- to an alien who is a seafarer, where a ship, a member of the crew whereof the alien is, is undergoing repairs in the Republic of Lithuania;
- to a journalist who is accredited by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Lithuania;
- to an alien who periodically comes to the Republic of Lithuania to work or engage in any other lawful activity and whose main place of residence is in a foreign state;
- for an alien, who has submitted a request to issue or change a residence permit in the Republic of Lithuania;

to an alien who is not able to leave the Republic of Lithuania for one of the following reasons:
- an illness, another acute health disorder or physical condition;
- a personal circumstance which the alien was not able to foresee;
- force majeure. In this case, the visa (D) is issued for a period not exceeding one year;
- in other cases, when the purpose of an alien’s arrival in the Republic of Lithuania is a long-term stay in the Republic of Lithuania.
The collection of passports at the Visa Application Center can be done by:
- The applicant himself or
- A representative carrying a photo id of himself/herself and an authority letter from the applicant.
IMPORTANT
Applications can be lodged earliest Six (6) months before the planned trip.
Visas are not issued on the day of the application and may take up to 4 weeks, notably when further scrutiny of the application is needed or in cases of representation where the authorities of the represented Member State are consulted. Exceptionally, when additional documentation is needed in specific cases, the period for the decision may be extended up to a maximum of 60 calendar days.
Holders of Schengen visas are still subject to immigration control at the point of entry and are not guaranteed entry into any of the Schengen countries.

Visa Fees applicable for National Visa ( Type D ) is:-
VISA: EGP National visa, normal tariff 3985 VFS service charge
Applicants applying at the Lithuanian Visa Application Centre shall be levied a service charge of 530 EGP

List of supporting documents to be submitted by the applicants together with an application for a national single entry visa in cases when the Lithuanian Migration Department has taken a positive decision to issue or renew foreigners’ temporary or permanent permit in the Republic of Lithuania or when a temporary or permanent permit was lost:
- A valid travel document, its validity period being at least three (3) months longer than the validity period of the requested visa. The document must have at least two (2) blank pages and must be issued within the previous ten (10) years.
- An application for national visa filled out using electronic means for filling applications https://visa.vrm.lt/epm/.
- One (1) 35 x 45 mm colour photo reflecting the person’s age.
- Evidence of medical insurance (the alien’s medical insurance must guarantee payment of all emergency medical costs as well as expenditures which may arise in relation with the alien’s return to a foreign country due to health reasons (such as transportation, including accompaniment of a healthcare specialist(s)) as defined in the Republic of Lithuania Law on Health System, covering the entire period of the alien’s stay in the Republic of Lithuania. In addition, it must be valid in all participant states of the Schengen Area. The amount of insurance must not be less than EUR 30 000).
- Certificate from the Mogamma. For first time travellers, or in case of passport loss: a Certificate from the Mogamma covering the past 7 years. The Mogamma certificate is required only from Egyptian citizens.
- Decision of the Lithuanian Migration Department to issue or renew foreigners’ temporary or permanent residence permit (original or a copy certified in accordance with the procedure established by legal acts), or
- Documents proving that a temporary or permanent residence permit was lost outside Lithuania (e.g. police report).
