Territorial jurisdiction
Only for Foreigners and Reconsideration applications
The territorial jurisdiction of the Consulate General of the Republic of Poland in Istanbul covers the areas marked on the map in red. As applications from the Visa Centers in Istanbul-Beyoğlu, Izmir, Gaziantep and Trabzon are processed by the Polish consul in Istanbul, we would like to inform you that only visa applications from applicants residing in the consular district of Istanbul will be accepted. Since the white zone is the jurisdiction of the Embassy, people who live or study there should apply from our Ankara and Antalya branches.
In case of reconsideration application these applications must be submitted to the consul of the Republic of Poland, who made the decision to refuse the visa by selecting the regional authorized visa application center.
VISA TYPES
VFS Global employees can provide you with information and application forms for Poland visas, but they are not able to provide you with advice regarding which visa you should apply for.
Visa type chosen by an applicant must be based on the purpose of travel to Poland and the decision must be made by the applicant themselves,
Schengen Visa (C Type / Short Stay)
It is recommended to apply for a visa in advance - at the latest 15 days prior to the planned journey. VFS Global employees can provide you with information and application forms for Poland visas, but they are not able to provide you with advice regarding which visa you should apply for.
Visa type chosen by an applicant must be based on the purpose of travel to Poland and the decision must be made by the applicant themselves.
Important information:
Due to the commencement of the biometric process, all visa applications must be submitted in person at the visa application centers.
Biometric data
When you apply for a visa, biometric data will be taken from you: your photograph for a national visa and your photograph and fingerprints for Schengen visa applications.
- A digital fingerprint scanner will collect images of all 10 fingers, and at the same time a live photo will be captured. This is a quick, discreet, and non-intrusive process.
- Your digital photograph must show your full face. You cannot wear sunglasses, tinted spectacles, or a head covering unless it is worn for religious or ethical reasons.
If you have applied for a Schengen visa within the last 59 months and your fingerprints have been taken, you will not need to reapply - the system will automatically transfer your data.
The following persons are exempt from fingerprinting:
- children under 12 years of age;
- persons where fingerprinting is physically impossible (e.g. due to missing or temporarily injured fingers);
- Heads of State or Government, members of national governments accompanied by their spouses and members of an official delegation when invited for official purposes;
- monarchs and important members of the royal family, when invited for official purposes.

Airport transit visa
If you plan to travel by plane from one third country to another third country and the flight connection includes a landing at an airport in the Schengen Area (in the territory of the Republic of Poland), and: you do not intend to leave the international transit area of the airport and you hold citizenship of: Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Democratic Republic of Congo, Eritrea, Ethiopia, Ghana, Iran, Iraq, Nigeria, Pakistan, Sudan, and Sri Lanka, it is necessary to submit an application for an airport transit visa type A.

Tourism

Schengen Visa
If you want to visit Poland for tourism purposes, you must submit documents to obtain a Schengen visa, which is a short-term visa that allows you to stay in Poland and any Schengen country for a maximum of 90 days in any 6-month period.
Schengen countries: Austria, Germany, Belgium, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Greece, Greece, Spain, Netherlands, Iceland, Lithuania, Liechtenstein, Luxembourg, Latvia, Malta, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Slovakia, Slovenia, Switzerland, Sweden, Hungary and Italy. VFS service fee is not refundable for returned files. For Schengen visa types, you can apply 6 months before your travel.

Overview
- Passport Validity
The passport should be valid for at least 3 months after the date of intended return from Poland. Passports issued more than 10 years before the date of application shall not be accepted. The passport should contain at least 2 blank pages for visas. Passports are accepted without additional wrappers, ex. plastic or leather. Previous passports should also be presented by the applicant (original and photocopy).
- Travel Medical Insurance
Medical Insurance with a minimum coverage of € 30,000 valid in all Schengen States (original and copy). If you apply for a single entry visa - the insurance policy should cover the entire period of validity of the visa and all scheduled days of stay. In the case of applying for a multiple entry visa - the insurance policy should cover the date of first entry.
During the next travel to the Schengen area travelers must have a current insurance policy.

- Minors
In case of a minor (under 18) traveling alone or with one parent requires the consent of the other parent or legal guardian (original and photocopy). When obtaining consent is impossible - documents explaining the reason for the lack of consent (single parent certificate or other documents). When a minor is traveling alone, the consent of parents or legal guardians for travel abroad expressed in notarized certificate, must be submitted.
Visa application form must be signed by a person exercising permanent or temporary parental authority or legal guardianship. The signature should be the same as on the enclosed copies of the passport.
The application should include a copy of the passport (travel document) of the parents or legal guardians containing personal information with photos and in case of having a Schengen or National visa of a parent or guardian, their photocopies.
Minors shall provide proof of financial means by the parent, by presenting the sponsorship letter.
- Proof of sufficient financial means
The amount of financial means a foreigner is obliged to have with them on entering the Republic of Poland, as well as the type of documents that confirm the possession of the financial means and state the purpose of entering Poland

Biometrics
Since the introduction VIS (Visa Information System), individuals applying for a Schengen visa will be required to provide their biometric data (fingerprints and a digital photograph).
We kindly inform that in accordance with art.13 p.2 at the time of submission of the first application, the applicant shall be required to appear in person. At that time the following biometric identifiers of the applicant shall be collected: a photograph (scanned or taken at the time of application), and 10 fingerprints collected digitally.
Exemptions from the fingerprinting requirement are provided for:
children under the age of twelve;
persons for whom the collection of fingerprints is physically impossible;
Heads of State and members of national Governments, with accompanying spouses, and the members of their official delegation when they are invited by Member States' governments or by international organizations for an official purpose;
Sovereigns and other senior members of a royal family, when they are invited by Member States' governments or by international organizations for an official purpose.
Notice:
The bearers of Turkish service passports (so called: green or grey) are entitled to enter territory of Poland without visa for a stay not longer than 90 days and not for work purposes.
According to Article 16, item 4 of the Regulation (EC) No 810/2009 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 13 July 2009 establishing a Community Code on Visas, the visa fees shall be waived for the applicants belonging to one of the following categories;
- children under six years
- school pupils, students, postgraduate students and accompanying teachers who undertake stays for the purpose of study or educational training;
- researchers from third countries travelling for the purpose of carrying out scientific research as defined in Recommendation No 2005/761/EC of the European Parliament and of the Council of 28 September 2005 to facilitate the issue by the Member States of uniform short-stay visas for researchers from third countries travelling within the Community for the purpose of carrying out scientific research;
Representatives of non-profit organizations aged 25 years or less participating in seminars, conferences, sports, cultural or educational events organized by non-profit organizations.
According to article 18 item 1-2. as well as article 19 of “Rozporządzenie Ministra Spraw Zagranicznych z dnia 23.04. 2013 r. w sprawie opłat konsularnych”, the visa fees shall be waived for the applicants belonging to the following categories;
Relatives of EU citizens ( spouse, children, parents (if dependent financially)
Relatives of Polish citizens (Spouse, children, parents) if dependent financially
Applications for diplomatic or service visas
Information Related to Family Members of EU Citizens:
This procedure applies to citizens from third countries who travel to a Member State other than the Member State of whose nationality a family member – an EU citizen is or already stay in that country.

Photo Specifications
A Photograph submitted with the application for a visa should comply with the following specifications:
- Must be an up-to-date photograph (dated max 6 month old)
- Must be a colour photograph printed on normal photographic paper
- The passport photo must be 35 by 45 mm (width x height).
- Width: from ear to ear, between 16 mm and 20 mm.
- Height: from age 11: from chin to crown, between 26 and 30 mm.
- up to age 11: from chin to crown, between 19 and 30 mm
- Full face taken straight forward 30 mm from point of the chin to top of hair
- Taken against a white background
- Without sunglasses
- Without hat or other head covering unless you wear this for religious reasons
- Spectacles should not have toned or reflecting glasses
- The frame of the spectacles may not cover the eyes

Apart from the visa fee, VFS service charge in TL of the equivalent of 12,20 Euros, the exchange rate will be applied as per Turkish Central bank for previous day, inclusive of VAT per application will be levied for applicants applying at the visa application center.
Visa Application Centers do not accept payments with 500 Euros banknotes.
- Visa fee has to be paid in cash upon submitting the application.
- In case of visa refusal the fee will not be returned.

Processing Time
Pursuant to Article 19 of Regulation (EC) No 810/2009 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 13 July 2009 establishing a Community Law on visas (the Visa Law), an application for an admissible visa shall be decided within 15 calendar days from the date on which it is lodged. In individual cases where the application requires a particularly detailed examination, this period may be extended.

Photo Specifications
A Photograph submitted with the application for a visa should comply with the following specifications:
- Must be an up-to-date photograph (dated max 6 month old)
- Must be a colour photograph printed on normal photographic paper
- The passport photo must be 35 by 45 mm (width x height).
- Width: from ear to ear, between 16 mm and 20 mm.
- Height: from age 11: from chin to crown, between 26 and 30 mm.
- up to age 11: from chin to crown, between 19 and 30 mm
- Full face taken straight forward 30 mm from point of the chin to top of hair
- Taken against a white background
- Without sunglasses
- Without hat or other head covering unless you wear this for religious reasons

Processing Time
Pursuant to Article 19 of Regulation (EC) No 810/2009 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 13 July 2009 establishing a Community Law on visas (the Visa Law), an application for an admissible visa shall be decided within 15 calendar days from the date on which it is lodged. In individual cases where the application requires a particularly detailed examination, this period may be extended.

Schengen Visa
If you want to visit Poland under Erasmus and NAWA; you must submit documents to obtain a Schengen visa, which is a short-term visa that allows you to stay in Poland and any Schengen country for a maximum of 90 days in any 6-month period.
Schengen countries: Austria, Germany, Belgium, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Greece, Greece, Spain, Netherlands, Iceland, Lithuania, Liechtenstein, Luxembourg, Latvia, Malta, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Slovakia, Slovenia, Switzerland, Sweden, Hungary and Italy.
VFS service fee is not refundable for returned files. For Schengen visa types, you can apply 6 months before your travel.

Overview
- Passport Validity
The passport should be valid for at least 3 months after the date of intended return from Poland. Passports issued more than 10 years before the date of application shall not be accepted. The passport should contain at least 2 blank pages for visas. Passports are accepted without additional wrappers, ex. plastic or leather. Previous passports should also be presented by the applicant (original and photocopy).
- Travel Medical Insurance
Medical Insurance with a minimum coverage of € 30,000 valid in all Schengen States (original and copy). If you apply for a single entry visa - the insurance policy should cover the entire period of validity of the visa and all scheduled days of stay. In the case of applying for a multiple entry visa - the insurance policy should cover the date of first entry.
During the next travel to the Schengen area travelers must have a current insurance policy.

- Minors
In case of a minor (under 18) traveling alone or with one parent requires the consent of the other parent or legal guardian (original and photocopy). When obtaining consent is impossible - documents explaining the reason for the lack of consent (single parent certificate or other documents). When a minor is traveling alone, the consent of parents or legal guardians for travel abroad expressed in notarized certificate, must be submitted.
Visa application form must be signed by a person exercising permanent or temporary parental authority or legal guardianship. The signature should be the same as on the enclosed copies of the passport.
The application should include a copy of the passport (travel document) of the parents or legal guardians containing personal information with photos and in case of having a Schengen or National visa of a parent or guardian, their photocopies.
Minors shall provide proof of financial means by the parent, by presenting the sponsorship letter.
- Proof of sufficient financial means
The amount of financial means a foreigner is obliged to have with them on entering the Republic of Poland, as well as the type of documents that confirm the possession of the financial means and state the purpose of entering Poland

Biometrics
Since the introduction VIS (Visa Information System), individuals applying for a Schengen visa will be required to provide their biometric data (fingerprints and a digital photograph).
We kindly inform that in accordance with art.13 p.2 at the time of submission of the first application, the applicant shall be required to appear in person. At that time the following biometric identifiers of the applicant shall be collected: a photograph (scanned or taken at the time of application), and 10 fingerprints collected digitally.
Exemptions from the fingerprinting requirement are provided for:
children under the age of twelve;
persons for whom the collection of fingerprints is physically impossible;
Heads of State and members of national Governments, with accompanying spouses, and the members of their official delegation when they are invited by Member States' governments or by international organizations for an official purpose;
Sovereigns and other senior members of a royal family, when they are invited by Member States' governments or by international organizations for an official purpose.
Notice:
The bearers of Turkish service passports (so called: green or grey) are entitled to enter territory of Poland without visa for a stay not longer than 90 days and not for work purposes.
According to Article 16, item 4 of the Regulation (EC) No 810/2009 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 13 July 2009 establishing a Community Code on Visas, the visa fees shall be waived for the applicants belonging to one of the following categories;
- children under six years
- school pupils, students, postgraduate students and accompanying teachers who undertake stays for the purpose of study or educational training;
- researchers from third countries travelling for the purpose of carrying out scientific research as defined in Recommendation No 2005/761/EC of the European Parliament and of the Council of 28 September 2005 to facilitate the issue by the Member States of uniform short-stay visas for researchers from third countries travelling within the Community for the purpose of carrying out scientific research;
Representatives of non-profit organizations aged 25 years or less participating in seminars, conferences, sports, cultural or educational events organized by non-profit organizations.
According to article 18 item 1-2. as well as article 19 of “Rozporządzenie Ministra Spraw Zagranicznych z dnia 23.04. 2013 r. w sprawie opłat konsularnych”, the visa fees shall be waived for the applicants belonging to the following categories;
Relatives of EU citizens ( spouse, children, parents (if dependent financially)
Relatives of Polish citizens (Spouse, children, parents) if dependent financially
Applications for diplomatic or service visas
Information Related to Family Members of EU Citizens:

Schengen Visa
If you want to visit Poland as truck driver, you must submit documents to obtain a Schengen visa, which is a short-term visa that allows you to stay in Poland and any Schengen country for a maximum of 90 days in any 6-month period.
Schengen countries: Austria, Germany, Belgium, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Greece, Greece, Spain, Netherlands, Iceland, Lithuania, Liechtenstein, Luxembourg, Latvia, Malta, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Slovakia, Slovenia, Switzerland, Sweden, Hungary and Italy. VFS service fee is not refundable for returned files. For Schengen visa types, you can apply 6 months before your travel.

Overview
- Passport Validity
The passport should be valid for at least 3 months after the date of intended return from Poland. Passports issued more than 10 years before the date of application shall not be accepted. The passport should contain at least 2 blank pages for visas. Passports are accepted without additional wrappers, ex. plastic or leather. Previous passports should also be presented by the applicant (original and photocopy).
- Travel Medical Insurance
Medical Insurance with a minimum coverage of € 30,000 valid in all Schengen States (original and copy). If you apply for a single entry visa - the insurance policy should cover the entire period of validity of the visa and all scheduled days of stay. In the case of applying for a multiple entry visa - the insurance policy should cover the date of first entry.
During the next travel to the Schengen area travelers must have a current insurance policy.

- Minors
In case of a minor (under 18) traveling alone or with one parent requires the consent of the other parent or legal guardian (original and photocopy). When obtaining consent is impossible - documents explaining the reason for the lack of consent (single parent certificate or other documents). When a minor is traveling alone, the consent of parents or legal guardians for travel abroad expressed in notarized certificate, must be submitted.
Visa application form must be signed by a person exercising permanent or temporary parental authority or legal guardianship. The signature should be the same as on the enclosed copies of the passport.
The application should include a copy of the passport (travel document) of the parents or legal guardians containing personal information with photos and in case of having a Schengen or National visa of a parent or guardian, their photocopies.
Minors shall provide proof of financial means by the parent, by presenting the sponsorship letter.
- Proof of sufficient financial means
The amount of financial means a foreigner is obliged to have with them on entering the Republic of Poland, as well as the type of documents that confirm the possession of the financial means and state the purpose of entering Poland

Biometrics
Since the introduction VIS (Visa Information System), individuals applying for a Schengen visa will be required to provide their biometric data (fingerprints and a digital photograph).
We kindly inform that in accordance with art.13 p.2 at the time of submission of the first application, the applicant shall be required to appear in person. At that time the following biometric identifiers of the applicant shall be collected: a photograph (scanned or taken at the time of application), and 10 fingerprints collected digitally.
Exemptions from the fingerprinting requirement are provided for:
children under the age of twelve;
persons for whom the collection of fingerprints is physically impossible;
Heads of State and members of national Governments, with accompanying spouses, and the members of their official delegation when they are invited by Member States' governments or by international organizations for an official purpose;
Sovereigns and other senior members of a royal family, when they are invited by Member States' governments or by international organizations for an official purpose.
Notice:
The bearers of Turkish service passports (so called: green or grey) are entitled to enter territory of Poland without visa for a stay not longer than 90 days and not for work purposes.
According to Article 16, item 4 of the Regulation (EC) No 810/2009 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 13 July 2009 establishing a Community Code on Visas, the visa fees shall be waived for the applicants belonging to one of the following categories;
- children under six years
- school pupils, students, postgraduate students and accompanying teachers who undertake stays for the purpose of study or educational training;
- researchers from third countries travelling for the purpose of carrying out scientific research as defined in Recommendation No 2005/761/EC of the European Parliament and of the Council of 28 September 2005 to facilitate the issue by the Member States of uniform short-stay visas for researchers from third countries travelling within the Community for the purpose of carrying out scientific research;
Representatives of non-profit organizations aged 25 years or less participating in seminars, conferences, sports, cultural or educational events organized by non-profit organizations.

THE NATIONAL VISA
This is issued to persons who intend to stay in Polish territory altogether (in the course of one or several entries) for a period longer than 90 days in the course of a year from the date of first entry.
The long-term national visa (D) authorises stay:
- in the territory of Poland during the validity period for which it was issued;
The national visa validity period cannot exceed 1 year.
National visa applications should be submitted no later than 15 days prior to and no sooner than 6 months before planned departure.
Jurisdiction

The jurisdiction of Consulate General of Poland in Istanbul is remarked in red on the map of Türkiye. The applications of prospective applicants residing or studying in these cities are being accepted by our Visa Application Centers in Harbiye,Altunizade, İzmir, Gaziantep and Trabzon on behalf of the Consulate General of Poland in Istanbul. The applications of procpective applicants residing or studuying in the other cities remarked in white are being accepted by our Visa Application Centers in Ankara and Antalya on behalf of the Embassy of Poland in Ankara.
In case of reconsideration application these applications must be submitted to the consul of the Republic of Poland, who made the decision to refuse the visa by selecting the regional authorized visa application center.

The passport should be valid for at least 3 months after the date of intended return from Poland. Passports issued more than 10 years before the date of application shall not be accepted. The passport should contain at least 2 blank pages for visas. Passports are accepted without additional wrappers, ex. plastic or leather. Previous passports should also be presented by the applicant (original and photocopy).
- Travel Medical Insurance
Medical Insurance with a minimum coverage of € 30,000 valid in all Schengen States (original and copy). If you apply for a single entry visa - the insurance policy should cover the entire period of validity of the visa and all scheduled days of stay. In the case of applying for a multiple entry visa - the insurance policy should cover the date of first entry.
During the next travel to the Schengen area travelers must have a current insurance policy.

- Minors
In case of a minor (under 18) traveling alone or with one parent requires the consent of the other parent or legal guardian (original and photocopy). When obtaining consent is impossible - documents explaining the reason for the lack of consent (single parent certificate or other documents). When a minor is traveling alone, the consent of parents or legal guardians for travel abroad expressed in notarized certificate, must be submitted.
Visa application form must be signed by a person exercising permanent or temporary parental authority or legal guardianship. The signature should be the same as on the enclosed copies of the passport.
The application should include a copy of the passport (travel document) of the parents or legal guardians containing personal information with photos and in case of having a Schengen or National visa of a parent or guardian, their photocopies.
Minors shall provide proof of financial means by the parent, by presenting the sponsorship letter.
- Proof of sufficient financial means
The amount of financial means a foreigner is obliged to have with them on entering the Republic of Poland, as well as the type of documents that confirm the possession of the financial means and state the purpose of entering Poland

D visa - Work
If the visa application date is later than three months following the start date of the work permit, the visa application must be accompanied by a scan of the letter addressed by the employer to the provincial governor and confirmation of the date of submission of the letter to the governor's office.

Reconsideration
People whose visa application is rejected have the right to review their visa application. In this case customer has a right to apply for the reconsideration of the decision within 14 calendar days starting from the day of receiving the decision at the Visa application center or from courier company. The application is made in person and in full with the necessary documents within 14 calendar days from the date of the decision. The consular fee will be charged in accordance with the Consular Fees Table.

Reconsideration Schengen visa no changes so far - 84 USD
