SHORT TERM VISA
Schengen visa enables a foreigner to travel to the Schengen area. With a Schengen visa you can travel freely between these countries as long as the Schengen visa is valid.
You have to apply for your Schengen visa at the Embassy of your main destination. If the main destination cannot be determined, responsibility for issuance of the visa lies with the Schengen state of first entry.
The process and required documents for these countries are the same as when applying for a visa to visit Sweden.
Processing normally takes 10-14 days, but may in some cases take up to a month (or longer).
A visa gives the opportunity to enter the Schengen area, but does not imply a legal right to do so.
There are different requirements for different types of visas. The purpose of a proposed visit cannot be altered once the visa has been issued.

Overview
This category of visa caters to people wishing to visit Sweden for a maximum of 3 months for business purposes. Please note that if you are going to work for a period less than 3 month you will need both a work permit and a Schengen visa and if that is the case you should contact the Embassy of Sweden for consultation.
Applicants will have to provide evidence that he/she falls under this category.

You must have:
- A completed and signed application form no. 119031, Application for Schengen Visa.
- A valid passport or travel document.
This must:
- Be valid for at least three months after your departure from the Schengen area
- Contain at least two empty pages
- Have been issued during the past ten years.
- Two photographs in passport format and color, taken straight from the front and no older than six months.
- A round trip booking (the ticket to be bought only after the visa has been issued)
- Proof of accommodation (if it is a visit to relatives and friends it is enough if the referent states that he/she will provide accommodation in the invitation form)
- Individual medical insurance covering the cost of emergency treatment and transport home for medical reasons. Read more under ‘Medical travel insurance’
- Enough money to support yourself during your stay. A bank statement in English verifying that funds for the stay are available, it has to show transactions for the last six (6) months. In general, Sweden requires you to have SEK 450 per day/person. The required amount may be less if for instance you have paid for board and lodging in advance or live with friends or relatives. If the person who is inviting you to Sweden will be paying for your support, you must show in the same way that he/she has enough money to do so.

Anyone who is not a Jordanian citizen must show a residence permit or proof of residence in Jordan.
If you apply for a visa to visit Sweden for the purpose of receiving medical treatment, you need the documents listed below.
The forms must be completed either in Swedish or in English. Documents issued by the authorities in your country of origin are to be submitted together with a translation in Swedish or English by an authorized translator.
- Two passport photographs in which you are looking straight ahead and which are not more than six months old
- A medical certificate from Sweden showing when you will receive your treatment and what it entails
- A medical certificate from the country in which you are resident, showing that you cannot obtain the treatment there
- Proof that you have deposited money in Sweden for the planned treatment and any aftercare
Upon your visit the embassy might ask you to fill out form 239011, the Family details, otherwise the embassy might need to set up another appointment to perform an interview.
