VISA TYPES
VFS Global and Gerry’s take pride in affiliation with the Embassy of Switzerland as an outsourced partner to provide document handling services for Swiss Short Stay visa applications. These services
are provided from VFS Global offices for Pakistani and Afghan applicants
Important information for applicants:
Please be informed that Gerry’s offices accept applications from those applying for a short stay (Schengen) visa.
Foreign nationals who wish to travel to Switzerland have to be in possession of a Schengen visa, unless they are nationals from countries which are not included in the list of countries with
the obligation to carry a visa in order to cross external borders for stays in the Schengen Area of no more than three months (90 days) in a period of six months (180 days) from the date of entry
into the Schengen Area.
The following applicants will have to submit their visa applications directly at the Embassy of Switzerland, Islamabad:
- Those applying for a long term visa (more than 90 days)
- Rejected applicants who wish to appeal against the decision.

Currently, the Embassy of Switzerland in Islamabad is examining and deciding on applications for visiting Switzerland as main destination.

Who should apply?
This visa is available to all passport holders who are outside Switzerland and want to apply for a visa to visit Switzerland.

Visa Fees
Visa fees with effect from 11th June 2024:

- All fees should be paid in advance and are non-refundable.
- All applicants must pay the visa fee at time of application. If an applicant qualifies for a fee exemption as an EU/EEA dependent family member, the fee will be refunded by the Embassy of Switzerland.
- There is a service charge of PKR 6214 (Euros 19.98) levied per application in addition to the visa fees

Note: we cannot accept photographs that do not meet the requirements specified on this page. If photographs presented do not meet these requirements, applicants will be required to obtain new photographs.
The photographs must be:
- no more than 6-months old
- 35-40mm in width
- close up of your head and top of your shoulders so that your face takes up 70-80% of the photograph
- in sharp focus and clear
- of high quality with no ink marks or creases
- taken against a white or off-white background
- high quality colour and printed on photo-quality paper
- show you facing square on to the camera
- non-smiling and without glasses or head coverings (unless worn for religious reasons)
Photographs must not be digitally altered in any way (i.e. photoshopped).

Processing Time
Usually, processing time for visa applications is 15 working days (starting from the time when the Embassy or Consulate received the application, not including the transportation time), counting from when all requested documents have been submitted. This period may be extended in specific cases, notably when further scrutiny of the application is required, for example, when an applicant must come to an interview or submit additional documentation requested by the Embassy or Consulate. During certain times of the year, the processing time can be longer due to the high volume of applications. It is recommended to submit your visa application at least two weeks prior to date of travel date and if possible, even earlier ahead of the holiday period.
Please note that the application processing time and decisions on visa applications are the sole prerogative of the Embassy or Consulate. VFS Global has no role to play in these areas of the application process.

Official Mission

Overview
This visa is for people traveling to Switzerland on an official mission for their government of an international organisation.

Visa Fees
There is no visa fee under the “Official Mission” category if applicants have one of the following documents as confirmation of official business:
- Note Verbal from Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the respective Embassy or International Organization, or;
- Nominal invitation/confirmation letter from the host institution in Switzerland.
However, the decision to waive the visa fee is at the discretion of the Embassy of Switzerland.
Please note:
- Official Mission applicants are still required to pay the VFS Global service fee of PKR 6214 (Euros 19.98) per application.

Anyone who remains in Switzerland for longer than three months will need to apply for a long term visa. The visa application for a long-term visa has to be submitted directly at the Swiss Embassy, Islamabad.
