Schedule an appointment for biometric enrolment

Effective 02 November 2019, prior appointment is mandatory for biometric enrolment at the Canada Visa Application Centre in Rwanda.

To find out if you need to give biometrics, you'll have to visit http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/visit/biometrics.asp.

For the sole purpose of scheduling appointment VFS Global will collect Personal Information from the applicant. Do not include any personal information other than what is required by the appointment scheduling system in emails, webchat, SMS or other non-secure electronic communications.A consent form in this regard will be required from the applicant.

The criteria for an emergency biometric appointment is as follows:

• Death of an immediate family member residing in Canada

• Critically ill immediate family member residing in Canada

An immediate family member is defined as a

spouse or common-law partner

dependent child

dependent child of a dependent child

parent or step-parent

guardian or tutor

Applicants requesting emergency appointments for the purpose of biometric collection must provide proof of emergency (any one of the following) at the time of attending an appointment at the VAC

Death/Medical Certificate

Letter from Medical Officer/Unit

Letter from Funeral Home

Please note the VAC will report all applicants to IRCC who do not present the required proof of emergency at the time of attending an emergency appointment at the VAC. IRCC may take this into consideration when reviewing the application.

An emergency biometric appointment does not affect IRCC’s processing times for the application or the outcome.

Please note that emergency biometric appointments cannot be scheduled using the online appointment system. To schedule an emergency biometric appointment, please do so by calling the VAC Contact Centre or by visiting the VAC in person.

    You'll have to follow the instructions mentioned on the page to create your own login credentials and schedule an appointment.

    Please note:

    VFS Global will only collect your Personal Information for the sole purpose of scheduling an appointment.

    A consent form authorizing VFS Global to collect the required personal information will be presented via IVR, and an electronic authorization will be obtained prior to the collection of personal information.

    Once the appointment is scheduled, an appointment letter will be emailed to the registered email ID captured during the appointment scheduling process. If an email address is not provided, an SMS notification is sent confirming the date and time of the appointment on the registered mobile number.

    A reminder notification will be sent via email or mobile, 24 hours before the appointment date.

    You'll have to arrive at the Canada Visa Application Centre 15 minutes prior to your appointed time.

  • Email

    If you wish to schedule an appointment via email you can do so by using the WEB LINK.

    Please note:

    VFS Global will only collect your Personal Information for the sole purpose of scheduling an appointment.     After the appointment is booked, a copy of the appointment letter containing the appointment reference number will be emailed to your registered email ID, captured during the appointment scheduling process. You'll also be sent an SMS notification with a confirmation of the appointment to your mobile number, provided you have furnished the same.

    You'll receive a reminder notification via email and/or mobile number 24 hours before the appointment date.

    You can either schedule an appointment using the self-service method or assisted services.
