Schengen Visa

Short Stay visa entitles an alien, who does not hold a residence permit, to stay in Austria for an uninterrupted period or a total of successive periods of stays that does not exceed 180 days in every six months since the date of first entry.

After scrutinizing the application, your application may have the following.

  • Visa applied for is granted.
  • Further documentation is requested.
  • Applicant is requested to appear for a personal interview.
  • The application is rejected.

Short stay visa applications cannot be submitted more than 180 days in advance before the proposed date of travel.
However, they must be submitted at least 15 days prior to the proposed date of travel. VFS Global is the outsourcing office responsible for the reception and release of passports for short stay visa applications.

  • Overview

    This visa is solely for the purpose of leisure travel including vacationing, cruising, sightseeing and other recreational activities. Applicant should made sure that his/her longest stay in Schengen area is in Austria (Lithuania) regardless of the first entry. If during any portion of their visit to Austria the applicant intends to engage in business, or official duties he/she must refer to other relevant visa categories.

  • Visa Fees

    The Consular fees for the issuance of a Visa are:

    • Schengen visa: Php 5,652.00
    • Schengen visa for ages between 6-12 years: Php 2,826.00

    Apart from the visa fee, there is also a logistics fee of Php 2,386.00 payable to VFS Services Philippines Pvt Inc via cash or credit card.

During certain times of the year, the processing time can be longer due to the high volume of applications. It is recommended to submit your visa application at least two weeks prior to date of travel date and if possible, even earlier ahead of the holiday period.

  • Overview

    This visa is for those who intend to visit their family or friends. If during any portion of their visit to Austria the applicant intends to engage in business, or official duties he/she must refer to other relevant visa categories.

    Only seamen who are nationals from a country which is required to have a valid visa to enter the Schengen space need to apply for a seamen transit visa and if they intend to join a ship that is (or will be) in a Schengen port, land with the aim of joining another ship that is arriving (or will arrive) in a Schengen port, or land due to sickness, repatriation, holiday and so on.

    A Business visa is required if during any portion of the visit applicant intends to conduct business or commercial activities. e.g.; Meetings, Conference, Trainings, Trade Fairs, etc; such visas can only be issued to travellers not being paid for work by an entity within Austria and its representing countries. If the applicant intends to undertake paid work in Austria and its representing countries, he/she will need to obtain a work visa

    This category applies to persons who wish to travel to Austria for work a maximum of 90 days. Confirmation of the Labour Market Service (AMS) is required.

    Applicant will have to provide evidence that he/she falls under this category.

  1. Prepare the documents listed on the checklist as per the visa sub-category you are applying for. Once your documents are available, kindly scan all your documents and send it to [email protected] with the following details:

    4. The processing time for visa applications of PNG nationals may vary from the standard processing time of 5-10 working days.

National Visa

If you intend to stay in Austria for more than 90 but less than 180 days as a student, on a business trip, applicants who pick-up their residence permit in Austria, or you intend to take up short term employment (less than 6 months) AND you are neither an EU nor an EFTA citizen, you need a national Austrian visitor visa (Visa D). The Visa D also entitles you to stay up to 90 days, within the validity of the Visa D, to enter other Schengen countries.
