Long Term (Visa D)
Overview
If you intend to stay in Austria for more than 90 but less than 180 days as a student, on a business trip, applicants who pick-up their residence permit in Austria, AND you are neither an EU nor an EFTA citizen, you need a national Austrian visitor visa (Visa D). The Visa D also entitles you to stay up to 90 days, within the validity of the Visa D, to enter other Schengen countries.
Embassy of Austria has decided to cooperate with an external service provider for the collection of applications while establishing the ‘one-stop’ principle for the lodging of applications, creates derogation from the general rule that an applicant must apply at the Austrian Visa Application Center in Singapore.

- The applicable visa fee is as per the current exchange rate. It is subject to change All fees are non-refundable.
- The visa application centre offers an optional service at a nominal additional
cost:
- Photocopying Photo services
- Courier service
- SMS Tracking Facility
- All charges (Visa Fee, VFS service charges and other charges) are to be paid in cash Singapore Dollars only
The visa fee shall be waived for applicants belonging to one of the following categories:
- School pupils, students, postgraduate students and accompanying teachers who undertake stays for the purpose of study or educational training;
- Researchers from third countries travelling for the purpose of carrying out scientific research as defined in Recommendation No 2005/761/EC of the European Parliament and of the Council of 28 September 2005 to facilitate the issue by the Member States of uniform short-stay visas for researchers from third countries travelling within the Community for the purpose of carrying out scientific research ( 1 );

Photo Specifications
Applicants need to follow the below given guidelines:
- Photograph of size 35mm x 45 mm.
- Length of the head should not exceed 30 to 36 mm in length from chin to top of hair
- Photograph must be in color with light or White background
- Photograph for each visa applicant must be an un-mounted, full face photo, color photo as described below
- Photograph must have been taken within the last six months
- One photograph needs to be submitted
Processing Time
Step 1 :
Applications for Austria visa (D) is accepted at the Visa Application Centre.
Step 2 :
Before applying, please ensure you are very clear on your ‘purpose of visit’ – do remember we are here to assist and help you through the entire visa application process but are not permitted to advise or guide you on choosing a visa category. Since our work is primarily administrative in nature, we have no say on whether you will be granted a visa and how long it will take to process, as this is entirely the prerogative of the Austrian Embassy.

The processing time for the application is max of 15 days subject to approval by the mission.
The application will be sent to embassy once in a week from our centre.
