Visa Types
- Long Term (Visa D)
Visa D for the applicant to stay 3 to 6 months (Study, Business Training and Approved Resident Permit)
Business Training applications will be accepted only with AMS Notification letter (Arbeitsmarktservice = regional Work Permit Department)
- Short Stay -Employment(Visa C)
Visa C for the applicant to stay below 3 months for company training with AMS Notification letter (Arbeitsmarktservice = regional Work Permit Department)
Other Schengen visas for tourist and business trips for nationals of countries who require a visa for Austria (e.g. PR China, Thailand, Indonesia, India, etc.) please kindly contact VFS France website for information.
Long Term (Visa D)

Overview
If you intend to stay in Austria for more than 90 but less than 180 days as a student, on a business trip, applicants who pick-up their residence permit in Austria, AND you are neither an EU nor an EFTA citizen, you need a national Austrian visitor visa (Visa D). The Visa D also entitles you to stay up to 90 days, within the validity of the Visa D, to enter other Schengen countries.
Embassy of Austria has decided to cooperate with an external service provider for the collection of applications while establishing the ‘one-stop’ principle for the lodging of applications, creates derogation from the general rule that an applicant must apply at the Austrian Visa Application Center in Singapore.

The visa fee shall be waived for applicants belonging to one of the following categories:
- School pupils, students, postgraduate students and accompanying teachers who undertake stays for the purpose of study or educational training;
- Researchers from third countries travelling for the purpose of carrying out scientific research as defined in Recommendation No 2005/761/EC of the European Parliament and of the Council of 28 September 2005 to facilitate the issue by the Member States of uniform short-stay visas for researchers from third countries travelling within the Community for the purpose of carrying out scientific research ( 1 );

Photo Specifications
Applicants need to follow the below given guidelines:
- Photograph of size 35mm x 45 mm.
- Length of the head should not exceed 30 to 36 mm in length from chin to top of hair
- Photograph must be in color with light or White background
- Photograph for each visa applicant must be an un-mounted, full face photo, color photo as described below
- Photograph must have been taken within the last six months
- One photograph needs to be submitted

Processing Time
Usually, processing time for visa applications is 15-30 working days (starting from the time when the Embassy or Consulate received the application, not including the transportation time), counting from when all requested documents have been submitted. This period may be extended in specific cases, notably when further scrutiny of the application is required, for example, when an applicant must come to an interview or submit additional documentation requested by the Embassy or Consulate. During certain times of the year, the processing time can be longer due to the high volume of applications. It is recommended to submit your visa application at least four weeks prior to date of travel date and if possible, even earlier ahead of the holiday period.
Please note that the application processing time and decisions on visa applications are the sole prerogative of the Embassy or Consulate. VFS Global has no role to play in these areas of the application process.

Short Stay (Visa C)

Overview
Visa Type C (Short Stay – up to 90 Days)
The VFS Global Austria Visa Application Centre in Singapore only accepts Visa Type C applications for short-term company training in Austria (Short Stay – up to 90 Days).
This visa category does not cover travel for business meetings, tourism, or other short-stay purposes. To be eligible, you must have a valid AMS Notification letter issued by the Austrian company (Arbeitsmarktservice – regional work permit authority).
If you meet these conditions, you may submit your application at the VFS Global Austria Visa Application Centre in Singapore.
Tourist or Business Schengen Visas
Schengen visas for the purpose of tourism, business trips, family visits, conferences, and similar short stays cannot be applied for at the VFS Global Austria Visa Application Centre in Singapore. If you are a national of a country that requires a visa to enter the Schengen Area such as China, India, Thailand, or Indonesia) and you are travelling to Austria for one of the above purposes, please visit the *VFS France* website for detailed information and application assistance.

(for work stay in Austria up to 90 days)
Visa processing period approx. 14 working days
Visa application to be submitted personally, finger prints required.The visa type C is for the purpose of Inter-Company Transfer for Work, not a Business visa.
