This visa is solely for the purpose of visiting family or friends. This visa is given for a travel period of less than 90 days.

This is solely for family members of EU/EEA nationals or Swiss citizens and is given for a travel period of less than 90 days.

• you are a family member of an European Union (EU) or European Economic Area (EEA) citizen; and

• that EU/EEA citizen is travelling to or is residing in a member state other than that of which he/she is a citizen; and

• you are accompanying the EU/EEA citizen or planning to join him/her in the Schengen State of destination

If you think you are entitled to an accelerated visa procedure you will need to show proof that you meet these criteria when you submit your visa application.

Please note that if you apply under EU/EEA rules and you are not covered, this may impact the processing time and the outcome of your visa application.

VFS Service Fees

Please note:

• VFS service fee and additional service fees are subject to exchange rate per month, inclusive of VAT, can be paid in mobile payment (Alipay or Wechat Pay) or cash.
• The service fee and additional service are paid in local currency (CNY).
• Please note applicants applying outside Beijing, Shanghai and Guangzhou (opting for counter collection of passports and documents) need to pay mandatory courier charges which is Euro 4 (CNY amount is as per monthly exchange rate and pay at the time of visa application submission), it includes one-way courier charges pertaining to the transfer of visa applications from Beijing, Shanghai and Guangzhou back to regional VFS Visa Application Centres across China.

Documents Required

Applicants are no longer required to submit physical photos if they visit the VAC and enrol their biometrics.

Applicants are no longer required to submit a copy of their current passport to Denmark Mission. This requirement is applicable only for previous/old passports, where relevant.

An additional copy of your Passport ID page is required to provide to Visa Application Centre for Passport Collection.

Processing Time

The Danish mission has 15 days to make a decision on your visa application from the date the mission receives your passport, application and biometrics. In some cases, the processing time can be extended to 45 days when further case processing is needed.

Citizens of certain countries or categories of certain citizens are subject to prior consultation in one or more Schengen countries before a visa may be issued. After the instalment of a new system for scanning biometrics, including photographs for visa application, it is now possible to lodge a photograph of size 35 x 45 mm. Length of the head should not exceed 30 to 36 mm in length from chin to top of hair.

The photograph must still be in color with bright background.

Applicants may therefore obtain a new photograph that meets all requirements before The Danish Visa Application Centre can receive the application.

• The photograph MUST be in color and have only a white or light background. Photos with dark, busy, or patterned backgrounds will not be accepted
• In general, the applicant's head, including both face and hair, should be shown from the crown of the head to the tip of the chin on top and bottom and from hairline side-to-side. It is preferable that ears be exposed
• Sunglasses or other wear, which detracts from the face, are not acceptable unless required for medical reasons (an eye patch, for example).
• A photograph depicting a person wearing a traditional facemask or veil that does not permit adequate identification is not acceptable.

Overview

What is the Red Carpet Program?

The Red Carpet Program introduces simplified procedures for obtaining Danish Schengen visas for applicants who travel regularly to Denmark for business purposes. The aim is to assist those companies, organizations, NGO’s etc. that have business relations with a Danish company or organization.

The Red Carpet Program is open to private and public companies or organizations provided they meet the requirements mentioned on the local Danish embassy’s website. The main one being that the entities have lodged more than 10 visa applications at the Danish Missions in the past year, and have a reasonable number of employees requiring visas for Denmark on an ongoing basis.

What does the Red Carpet Program offer?

• Decision within four working days after submission of required documents
• If fingerprints have been obtained within the last 59 months, there is no need to apply in person.
• Fast track access at the visa centre.

After the instalment of a new system for scanning biometrics, including photographs for visa application, it is now possible to lodge a photograph of size 35 x 45 mm. Length of the head should not exceed 30 to 36 mm in length from chin to top of hair.

The photograph must still be in color with bright background.

• The photograph must have been taken within the last six months.

• The photograph MUST be in color and have only a white or light background. Photos with dark, busy, or patterned backgrounds will not be accepted

Processing Time

The Danish mission has 15 days to make a decision on your visa application from the date the mission receives your passport, application and biometrics. In some cases, the processing time can be extended to 45 days when further case processing is needed.

This is solely for family members of EU/EEA nationals or Swiss citizens and is given for a travel period of less than 90 days.

• you are a family member of an European Union (EU) or European Economic Area (EEA) citizen; and that EU/EEA citizen is travelling to or is residing in a member state other than that of which he/she is a citizen; and
• you are accompanying the EU/EEA citizen or planning to join him/her in the Schengen State of destination

If you think you are entitled to an accelerated visa procedure you will need to show proof that you meet these criteria when you submit your visa application.
