Schengen Visa
If you wish to visit Lithuania for a short period of time and if you come from a country with a visa requirement to enter Lithuania, you must obtain a visa prior to entry. Russian nationals require a visa to enter Lithuania.
Applicant must choose correct Purpose of travel to Lithuania while applying for visa and the decision must be made by the applicants themselves – Visa Application Centre staff will not be able to assist in taking this decision. In case of any questions regarding the visa application the Embassy/ Consulate General may require an additional interview with the applicant.
In case you submit the application in any of the regional centers please bear in mind the transit period between that location and Moscow. In case of incomplete documentation or in case the Embassy/ Consulate General wish to see you in person before deciding on your application, the processing time may increase.
A visa is only intended to allow a foreign national to visit Lithuania and/or the other Schengen countries* for a limited period (90 days within a period of 180 days). If you wish to reside in Lithuania for an extended period (more than 90 days), you need to apply for a National Visa.
The possession of a visa does not confer an automatic right of entry to a Schengen country. The visa holder is requested to present proof that they fulfill the entry conditions at the border (valid travel document, valid visa, and valid purpose of travel with adequate means of travel).
VFS is not at liberty to consider the admissibility of an application. If necessary, documents are missing, the Embassy can decide not to process the application even if VFS received and forwarded it.
Passport must be valid for at least three months beyond the intended stay in Lithuania and needs to contain at least two empty pages available for visa and/or permit sticker. A new passport must be obtained before submission of your application if the said conditions are not met.
You can see the Visa code here.
* Schengen countries: Austria, Belgium, Czech Republic, Denmark, Germany, Greece, Spain, Estonia, France, Finland, Hungary, Iceland, Italy, Latvia, Liechtenstein, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Slovakia, Slovenia, Sweden, Switzerland, Romania, Bulgaria and Croatia.
