This section provides information for legal residents of Libya (Libyan citizens, Libyan registration certificate /residence permit /long stay visa holders), applying for Schengen visa to visit Switzerland.

Visa Fees
Visa Fees applicable for Tourism, Visit, Business, Car Dealers, Medical, Study (up to 90 days), Sports and Cultural are: -

The above mentioned Visa Fee is to be paid in Tunisian Dinar (TND) only.
Visa Fee Exemption:
- Children below 6 years old
- Scientific researchers, as regulated in recommendation No. 2005/761/EG of the European Parliament
- Representatives of charitable organizations up to the age of 25 years, who travel to take part in meetings or conferences
- Family relatives of EU- /EFTA- and Swiss citizen
- Members of the Olympic committee
- Holders of a normal passport going officially to meetings or conferences organized by an agency according to the following list

- The Visa fee & service charges is non-refundable even in case the visa is refused.
Documents Required
Please note that the visa category chosen by an applicant must be based on the purpose of travel and the decision must be made by the applicant him/herself - Visa Application Centre staff will not be able to assist you in making this decision. An application filled incorrectly and carelessly can cause refusal of a visa application. The applicant may need to submit additional details or applicant can be asked to come for an interview at the Embassy.

Facilitated Procedure |
Facilitated procedure requirements are reduced (mainly for “official” visits to seminars / workshops, etc. organized by the international organizations and their sub- sections in Geneva and / or department (of Foreign Affairs).
Photo Specifications
Note: We cannot accept photographs that do not meet these requirements
Please provide two recent passport size pictures, not older than 6 months (size 35 – 40 mm in width, no copy or scanned picture). The photographs should be in colour and:
- Taken against a light background (white or off-white) so that features are distinguishable and contrast against the background.
- Clear share quality and with the face in focus.
- Printed on normal photographic paper (camera print).
- Full face, non-smiling [without sunglasses, a hat/cap or other head covering, unless the applicant wears such items because of their religious belief or ethnic background].
- Please stick the Photograph on the Visa Application Form.

Note: Please follow these instructions carefully. If photographs presented do not meet these requirements your application will be considered incomplete. Photo booth meeting these requirements is available at the centre.
Processing Time
The visa application needs to be deposited at least 15 days prior to the planned departure date, but not earlier than 6 months ahead of the planned visit. The applicant is sole responsible to take the necessary precautions in order to respect these deadlines. It is strongly recommended to fix an appointment well in advance. If you wish to submit your application directly at the Swiss Embassy in Tunis you may get the relevant appointment through VFS Global. Please be informed that the waiting lists may be considerably longer than those at VFS Global because of the limited resources of the Embassy.
The processing time of Schengen visa application is between 8 to 15 working days. These are only approximate indications and processing time may vary according to the circumstances.
No information regarding the status of a Schengen visa application will be given by the Swiss Embassy before the end of the above mentioned processing time.
Even the submission of all the listed documents does not guarantee the issue of the requested visa.
