    People lawfully residing in Italy, having lost their residence permit or people having left the country before receiving the renewal of the said permit, can apply for the re-entry visa proving that he/she has travelled out of the country for genuine and important reasons.

    EAST JURISDICTION : Applications from the residents of the States of Assam, Arunachal Pradesh, Bihar, Jharkhand, Manipur, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Nagaland, Orissa, Tripura, Sikkim and West Bengal, the Union Territory of the Andaman & Nicobar Islands and Nepal are to be decided by the Consulate of Italy in Kolkata.

    The place of issue of a passport or the permanent resident mentioned in the passport does not determine the jurisdiction but it is the current place where an applicant resides for the past 6 months that determines whether he/she belongs to a specific jurisdiction.
    All the applicants who are claiming that they are working from home since last 6 months they should provide a declaration regarding the same on the Letter Head of the organization duly signed by the HR Head.
    Please note that visa applications cannot be processed from applicants (including Indian nationals) not permanently residing in India. Those visiting India and wishing to go to Italy from India - even on their way back to their country of residence - need to apply for their Schengen visa before departing from the relevant Consulate of their country of residence.

    The above mentioned Visa Fee is to be paid by cash or Demand Draft /Cash/Debit & CREDIT Card in Indian Rupees (INR). Demand Draft should be drawn in favour of “VFS Global Services Pvt Ltd”, payable at Kolkata, India. The Visa Fee is subject to change without notice

    VFS SERVICE CHARGE

    In addition to the Visa Fees, applicant requires to pay the VFS Service Charge (inclusive of Goods & Service Tax –SGST @9% and CGST@9%), of INR 530 (Payable in Cash/Online/Debit/Credit card).

    To add value to our customer, we offer some value-added services. You will need to pay an extra fee in addition to the visa application fee when you avail these value-added services.

    Courier Facility available at INR 668/- (inclusive of Goods & Service Tax –SGST @9% and CGST@9%) per application.

    Courier Assurance Facility available at INR 530/- (inclusive of Goods & Service Tax –SGST @9% and CGST@9%) per application.

    Premium Lounge Facility available at INR 2651/- (inclusive of Goods & Service Tax –SGST @9% and CGST@9%) per application.

    Note: Visa fee and service charges are not refunded if your application is refused by the Consulate General of Italy, or if you withdraw you application while it is under processing at the Consulate General of Italy, Kolkata.

  • Photo Specifications

    Photograph Quality
    The photographs must be:

    of white background and the applicant should wear dark coloured clothes

    no more than 6-months old

    3.5cm x 4.5cm

    close up of your head and top of your shoulders so that your face takes up 70–80% of the photograph

    in sharp focus and clear

    of high quality and resolution with no ink marks or creases

    The photographs must:

    show you looking directly at the camera

    show your skin tones naturally

    have appropriate brightness and contrast

    be printed on high quality paper, and at high resolution

    Photographs taken with a digital camera must be high quality colour and printed on photo-quality paper.

    Style and lighting
    The photographs must:

    be colour neutral

    show your eyes open and clearly visible—no hair across your eyes

    show you facing squareon to the camera, not looking over one shoulder (portrait style) or tilted, and showing both edges of your face clearly

    be taken with a plain light-coloured background

    be taken with uniform lighting and not show shadows or flash reflections on your face and no red eye

    Glasses and head covers
    If you wear glasses:

    the photograph must show your eyes clearly with no flash reflection off the glasses, and no tinted lenses (if possible, avoid heavy frames— wear lighter framed glasses if you have them)

    make sure that the frames do not cover any part of your eyes.


















    Head coverings:

    - are not permitted except for religious reasons, but your facial features from bottom of chin to top of forehead and both edges of your face must be clearly shown.
    Expression and frame
    Your photographs must:

    - show you alone (no chair backs, toys or other people visible), looking at the camera with a neutral expression and your mouth closed.
