Applicants applying at the Malta Visa Application Centre shall be levied a service charge of 960 EGP: payable online.
Please Note:
- The applicable visa fee in Egyptian pounds is as per the current exchange rate. The same is subject to change without notice.
The Visa fee & service charges is non-refundable in case the visa is refused.

If you wish to visit Malta for a short period of time, you must obtain a visa prior to entry if you come from a *country with a visa requirement for entering Malta.
You cannot apply for a Schengen visa more than 3 months before your intended departure.
A visa is only intended to allow a foreign national to visit Malta and/or the other Schengen countries** for a limited period of time (90 days). If you wish to reside in Malta for an extended period of time (more than three months), you need to apply for a long term visa (Residence and Work Permit).
The possession of a visa does not confer an automatic right of entry to a Schengen country. The visa holder is requested to present proof that they fulfill the entry conditions at the border (valid travel document, valid visa, and valid purpose of travel with adequate means of travel).

Overview
A tourist visa allows you to stay for a short period in the Schengen area (not more than 90 days per 6 months)
Incomplete, unclear or unsigned applications will not be accepted.
If the visit involves two or more Schengen countries, the Consulate General responsible for the issuance of the visa will be:
- The Consulate General of the country in which the traveler is going to stay the longest.
- If the traveler is to stay the same time in different Schengen countries, the Consulate General of the country of first entry.
Minimum days to apply is 15 days, the applicants can’t submit their application otherwise*
Applicants who have a valid visa can’t apply, only if the travel date is after expiry date within 3 to 5 days.
For the applicants who are travelling with someone with valid visas from other countries, a copy should be submitted, and the visa must be valid and multiple entry.
It is advisable to plan your travel well in advance to avoid any inconvenience
Holders of non-Egyptian passports have to possess a non touristic Egyptian residence permit or otherwise should seek permission to apply from the Central Visa Unit in Malta (https://identitymalta.com/visas/)
Applicants with residency outside Egypt, they could apply if they submitted Egyptian documents and work in Egypt.

Adult nationals of Albania, Serbia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Macedonia, and Montenegro are exempt from the visa requirement, provided that they hold a valid passport containing biometric data (fingerprints and facial image).
All payments will be collected in local currency by Cash or Credit as per the local exchange rate.
The Visa fees can be paid by Cash or Credit. It is subject to change without notice. The fee is non-refundable.

Photo Specifications
Applicants are requested to submit their application form with the new photo format, as explained below:
General
The photo must fulfill the norm specified by the ICAO (International Civil Aviation Organization).
- Use plain light-White background.
- The photo must be no more than 6-months old.
- Not tilted picture (portrait style) showing both edges of face clearly.
- Close up of the head and top of the shoulders so that the face takes up 70–80% of the photograph.
- Photo in sharp focus and clear.
Photo Size
The photo for each visa applicant must measure:
- The picture dimensions must be 240 pixels wide by 320 pixels high at least. A smaller picture will be rejected. For instance, a photo being 235 pixels by 320 pixels is not valid.
- On the other hand, the photo should keep a proportion of 3.5 cm x 4.5 cm (width x height) within limits. However, 250 x 340 pixels picture would be valid, but not a 290 x 340 pixels one.
- Finally, the image weight (size in Kbytes) can never be bigger than 120 Kbytes.
Resolution
- An image resolution is measured in DPI (dots per inch) and it's mainly used to control printing quality. Therefore, higher resolution means better printing quality.
- Photos resolution should be 300 dpi, so, when you scan the image, check this parameter carefully. However, bear in mind that the higher the resolution, the bigger the picture.

Attaching the Photo to the Application form

Applicants are requested to submit their application form with the new photo format, as explained below:
General
The photo must fulfill the norm specified by the ICAO (International Civil Aviation Organization).
- Use plain light-White background.
- The photo must be no more than 6-months old.
- Not tilted picture (portrait style) showing both edges of face clearly.
- Close up of the head and top of the shoulders so that the face takes up 70–80% of the photograph.
- Photo in sharp focus and clear.
Photo Size
The photo for each visa applicant must measure:
- The picture dimensions must be 240 pixels wide by 320 pixels high at least. A smaller picture will be rejected. For instance, a photo being 235 pixels by 320 pixels is not valid.
- On the other hand, the photo should keep a proportion of 3.5 cm x 4.5 cm (width x height) within limits. However, 250 x 340 pixels picture would be valid, but not a 290 x 340 pixels one.
- Finally, the image weight (size in Kbytes) can never be bigger than 120 Kbytes.
Resolution
- An image resolution is measured in DPI (dots per inch) and it's mainly used to control printing quality. Therefore, higher resolution means better printing quality.
- Photos resolution should be 300 dpi, so, when you scan the image, check this parameter carefully. However, bear in mind that the higher the resolution, the bigger the picture.

Attaching the Photo to the Application form

Note : If children are traveling with their parents and are included inside the passport of the mother and/or the father, one photograph for each children MUST be glued to the application form of the father or the mother, depending on whom are they traveling with.

The processing time for assessment of a Schengen visa varies accordingly to the nationality of the applicant and the period of the year in which the application is given. The regular visa processing time is 15 working days upon completion of the application, the processing time may be extended to 30 or even 60 days calendar days, in cases that require a detailed assessment.

Overview
Seafarer Visa allows individuals to enter Malta solely in order to board a vessel or reship on another vessel, or disembark a vessel to depart the country by air.
If a seafarer visa is required, only legal residents in Egypt can apply for a visa at the Application Centre in Cairo and Alexandria.
Holders of non-Egyptian passports have to possess a non-touristic Egyptian residence permit or otherwise should seek permission to apply from the Central Visa Unit in Malta (https://identitymalta.com/visas/)

Airport Transit visa allows you to wait for a connecting flight in the international area of the airport. This visa does not grant access to the Schengen area.
