What happens at the Indian Consular Application Centre
On the day of your appointment, please:
Arrive 15 minutes before your appointment time and attend in person.
Only applicants and one parent or caregiver accompanying a child under 18 years of age may enter the centre.
Bring your printed visa application, 2 copies of the 2D barcoded sheets, 2 copies of your passport bio page, your passport or travel document, and all supporting documents.
If your visa fee has not been paid online, you can pay it at the centre.
Biometrics
Your fingerprints and photograph will be collected at the centre, unless you are exempt. The fingerprint scanner does not use ink, liquid or chemicals.
For your photograph, your full face must be visible. Avoid sunglasses, tinted glasses, head coverings unless worn for religious or ethical reasons, and light-coloured clothing.
Make sure your fingertips are free from henna, cuts, abrasions or other markings, as these may affect fingerprint collection.
Exemptions from Biometrics Collection
You may be exempt if you are:
A child under 12 years of age.
An applicant aged 70 years or above.
A Diplomatic or Official Passport holder, subject to the visa category and High Commission or Consulate instructions.
An applicant with a physical condition that prevents fingerprint collection. This will be considered on a case-by-case basis.
Security at the centre
For safety and security, random bag searches may be conducted at the centre.
Abusive or threatening behaviour towards staff will not be tolerated.
Please keep your passport, application form and collection receipt ready for inspection, if applicable.
